@Onegramatatime I went for a walk with dh yesterday n the morning, but then did quite a few bus journeys by foot during the day to go to ds uni graduation that mounted up! I had been thinking of driving so I’m glad I went with public transport as otherwise would have been a lot lower.

Clearingaspace · 24/07/2026 08:23

Good luck with your monthly goal @WorthySloth

PeasePuddingPottage · 24/07/2026 09:37

Hi 👋🏻 such a lovely thread I'm starting my weight loss now the baby is at nursery but slow going. How accurate do you all think the fitness trackers are?

@Clearingaspace Congratulations!! On your son's graduation. That's an achievement.

Welcome, @PeasePuddingPottage . Congratulations on your baby!! Fitness tracker apps or the watches? Do you mean tracking for steps? Or calories burnt? Heart rate? Apologies, I am not sure I understand your question. I use Samsung health. I find it mostly accurate. I found Google fit was not very accurate. Samsung Health may be better because of my (Samsung) smart watch.
My watch does have a personality, though and has chosen not to record any steps when it thinks i should be in bed. Hence, the 'mostly' accurate.

PeasePuddingPottage · 24/07/2026 17:24

Hi sorry was rush typing. I have a Huawei fitness tracker only £40. 10548 today on my period so very energy brain fog

PeasePuddingPottage · 24/07/2026 17:26

I'm still bf so have to balance definitely want to do low carb again. But when I'm on my period aka horror show CBA just trying to survive!

WorthySloth · 24/07/2026 17:38

I use my Apple Watch and have a steps app on it. Used to love my Fitbit but feel they have declined in quality personally

Clearingaspace · 24/07/2026 17:42

I use Apple health on my phone. When I am organised I use Apple Watch but it runs out of charge within a day. If you are aiming to increase your steps then it doesn’t 100% matter how accurate i don’t think so long as it’s encouraging you to walk more. Congrats on baby @PeasePuddingPottage - bit jealous as I have big teens/young adults!

thank you @Onegramatatime it was lovelly and a proud moment!

10kstepsaday · 24/07/2026 23:34

@Clearingaspace thank you! It was one of those days! I work in Health & Safety :)
21k is so awesome!! Well done!!

@Onegramatatimethankyou! Yes definitely contributing 🤣 there is a whole.juggling system of childcare going on but it's working quite well I think overall!!

Hi @PeasePuddingPottage and welcome!! I think my watch is Huawei, it has the Mi fitness app it links to ?
I find it to be accurate!

I am at 9.2k for today! 🎉 Happy with that esp for a work from home day 😃

Just over 14k yesterday. Had a brilliant night out although a friend got absolutely wasted and I had to phone my son to collect us so I could get her home 😭😭

anyway lots of dancing boosted my steps 😊 need sleep now

Joolly2 · 25/07/2026 00:17

Sorry for the radio silence. I keep falling asleep in the evenings and forgetting to post. The good news is I've hit 10k for 2 days and 12,318 today. 🎉
@Onegramatatime I'm feeling so much brighter these last couple of days. I don't know if I've acclimatised to this heat or just got my mojo back. Thanks for thinking of me.
@Clearingaspace congratulations on your sons graduation.
@PeasePuddingPottage welcome to the gang.
@WorthySloth well done, your totals are really adding up. Your multiple post gave me a laugh. That's one way to increase your steps.
@10kstepsaday hope you are coping OK with everything life is throwing at you at the moment.
@Midlifeshenanigans you seem to be making real progress with your steps, well done. There is something about posting on here that really motivates us to do more.

10kstepsaday · 25/07/2026 08:54

Thanks @Joolly2

You're all so lovely on here!! What an awesome bunch 🫶🏻

Not sure I’m going to hit target today… I really needed sleep so I haven’t long got up and have so far done a grand total of 59 steps 🤣🤣 I have tea and biscuits so will see what I can do after that

10kstepsaday · 25/07/2026 19:58

10.3K today! Lots of steps at the park with the kids for a few hours, was lush but sooo sooo hot!! And a little bit of sunburn was caught 🙈🙈🙈

Hope all having a lovely weekend x

10,230 today so good day for me. Travelling tomorrow so may not get many in but hopefully can get a quick walk in. Lovely to hear how everyone is getting on. I laughed at your night out story @WorthySloth hope you have caught up on your sleep 😂

Joolly2 · 25/07/2026 22:31

Posting before I fall asleep. Exactly 10,000 steps today, not one step more or one step less. 😀 Hope everyone has had a good day. Off now for an early night.

Clearingaspace · 25/07/2026 22:41

Perfection @Joolly2 🤩

Sounds like a well deserved lie in @WorthySloth 😂

@10kstepsaday ahh a lovely happy day. Totally agree this is a lovely thread 🫰

well done on 10k, fab progress @Midlifeshenanigans!

I have done a bit over 16k today. I bought my first ever pair of reading glasses today and my youngest dd also referred to me as an older lady!!! I am very scared what these glasses will look like as I hadn’t really a clue what type older people wear!

WorthySloth · 26/07/2026 00:01

9200 in the end. Met some friends and saw an Eminem tribute followed by cheesy chips. Early alarm tomorrow 😊 got 2 nights away

10kstepsaday · 26/07/2026 19:38

Absymal steps today! Was soooooo tired, had 2 naps and barely moved !!
Currently at 3.7K 😰

Good evening all, only managed 8k today in addition to an hours pilates. Went for a walk and realised it was a lot hotter than I thought. The clouds and stiff breeze fooled me into thinking it was a cooler day.
@10kstepsaday I had a day just like yours last week, I barely made it to 2k and kept dozing off every time I sat down. Don't fight it, sleep is good and tomorrow is another day.
@WorthySloth I really fancy cheesy chips now, damn it.
@Clearingaspace I get told I look like an old lady when I take my glasses off. You just can't win can you.

Onegramatatime · 27/07/2026 06:51

24th - 10,599 steps for me. Developed a migraine, a calm quiet walk in the forest behind my house was to help with migraine.
25th - Quite early in the morning, had to make a sudden trip to Wales (~4hrs drive) to check on family. Migraine still ongoing, getting worse. 10,290 steps for me.
26th - Drove back from Wales. Migraine really bad. 10,333 steps.

@Joolly2 , loved your 10,000 steps. Not one step more or one step less.

@10kstepsaday , i had a few days like that last week... i think it was last week where i just keep falling asleep or napping. Barely moved. Joolly2 advised same then. She was right, I felt better afterwards. Hope you are good.

@Clearingaspace , your glasses story 😆. Honestly our DC keep us humble. Have your glasses arrived?

@Midlifeshenanigans , you did 10K steps!! Great progress. Thst made me smile. Really great.
This is a lovely group, supporting each other to achieve.

@WorthySloth , how was the Eminem tribute act? I know a couple of his songs that I am aware he is the artist and I am sure i know others but just don't know he is the artist. Enjoy your nights away.

Dealing with a migraine so feel quite drained and have work, I may WFH if I can and kids on holiday, so not sure about steps today. Migraine makes it hard to focus or think or even co-ordinate myself.

Wishing everyone a lovely week ahead.

WorthySloth · 27/07/2026 08:53

Ended yesterday on just over 16800. Happy with my steps last week.

@Onegramatatime he was ok. I didn’t stay to the end because I needed my chips 🤣🤣

WorthySloth · 27/07/2026 08:54

Just added my weekly summary 😊

@WorthySloth love your weekly summary, great step total. You should be really proud.
@10kstepsaday so happy to hear your are back to your usual self. I think sleep is a very underestimated wonder drug.
@Onegramatatime so sorry to hear about your migraine, thats a long time to be in pain. I hope you are now well into the recovery stage. I get aura migraines, no pain at all just my own personal firework display. 😄
