Hey Everybody, Happy July!!

Here is our monthly thread for recording your daily steps, and having a chat along the way. Everyone is welcome, whatever your goal is and however you track it 😃

As always I am resetting and aiming for the 10k everyday - I am still yet to achieve this as life just be life-ing however this thread has been very motivational and encouraging so please join in, and lets get stepping 😁

Evening all,
Saturdays total 8,964, which plummeted to 2,540 steps today ☹️. I've been really busy but mostly stationary. Did manage a pilates class but my watch refuses to count that.😃
@Midlifeshenanigans my steps today make yours look positively great.
@WorthySloth 16k is a brilliant total.

Clearingaspace · 19/07/2026 23:18

I had a few days like that this week, @Joolly2 - annoying when you are busy snd it’s tiring but low steps to show for it!

Onegramatatime · 20/07/2026 00:33

16th - 4,861 steps
17th - 6,607 steps
18th - 12,247 steps
19th - 8,866 steps

I have missed a few days. I am also there with the low steps.
It's been work, period pains, lack of motivation, tiredness, feeling sort-of-unwell but not actually being unwell and a bad case of loss of mojo! I am just not getting my steps in.

Welcome @Midlifeshenanigans , do join. It definitely does help to motivate one to move more. Also, it's a great group for good vibes, encouragement and support.

@10kstepsaday , @Clearingaspace , @Joolly2 and @WorthySloth you are all smashing it even with the odd less than 10k day. It's really motivating.

@Joolly2 , these watches and their selective counting! I haven't been to a pilates class before, does it involve a lot of moving around?
Once i go to bed for the night, if i get up during the night, go the kitchen or go to the sitting room etc my watch does not count the steps..!

WorthySloth · 20/07/2026 09:35

Just uploaded a photo. Ended up on just over 8900 yesterday which pushed my daily average for last week just over 10k. Happy with that.

well done everyone with keeping going 💕 not sure how my steps will b this week because I’ve picked up two overtime shifts as well as my normal days and it depends who I work with how many steps I get in. Away on Sunday for 2 nights so should definitely bang some steps in those days 😊

I’ve bought a sports bra off Vinted to replace mine that no longer fit with a view to restarting couch 2 5k when the weather cools down 😊

Joolly2 · 21/07/2026 12:44

Good morning everyone.
Pleased with yesterday's total of 11,105
@Onegramatatime thanks for the encouragement. My watch dislikes badminton, pilates and holding a dog lead in that hand.☹️
I do mat pilates, so working on and around the mat so not much moving around. However I think my watch should be rewarding me for doing something as it's quick enough to tell me to get up and move if I dare to sit down for more than 30 minutes. 😁

WorthySloth · 21/07/2026 14:58

Did 10200 yesterday 😊

Onegramatatime · 21/07/2026 18:19

@Joolly2 , that made me laugh.

Yesterday was 4,529 steps.
Today i am at 2,771 steps. It's not looking great and I seem to be leaning towards dozing & naps today.

Great job, WorthySloth.

10kstepsaday · 21/07/2026 19:58

That is a genius idea @Joolly2 to get the kids out on the walks 🤩 I am going to write out a scavenger hunt list and they can tick it off as we go!! There's lots of tractors around where we live they can look out for 😃

Welcome @Midlifeshenanigans
Great target!

I have also had a few days of low steps. Although I did average our at 10k for the week last week. This week so far averaging at 6k. Need to get back into it and into some sort of routine with the kids being off. Hope everyone's doing well ❤️

Joolly2 · 21/07/2026 23:51

10,152 steps today, plus an hours badminton.
@10kstepsaday good luck for your scavenger hunt.
@Onegramatatime nothing wrong with dozing and naps. A couple of days ago I was exactly the same and managed the grand sum of 2k. Listen to your body if it says sleep, sleep.
@WorthySloth great total, you are going to need a new name, you are not very sloth like, couch to 5k 🏃‍♀️‍➡️.

WorthySloth · 22/07/2026 08:33

10100 yesterday. I had plans for this morning so I got up early. Ended up coming into work 😭😭 however I am going to be getting a walk in so all is not lost. Plus I now have Saturday off because I negotiated 🤣🤣

WorthySloth · 22/07/2026 22:32

By some miracle I have ended today on 14500. Two more days in work the 5 days off yippee

thats a lot of steps @WorthySloth 😁 I think mumsnet glitched earlier as I couldn’t load any threads around thst time.

10500 today 14606 yesterday. 7 day average is 111972 - super happy to be back over 10k

@Onegramatatime hope you are feeling better- maybe you are a bit run down and need to rest.

Onegramatatime · 23/07/2026 01:50

I am loving your steps @Clearingaspace . It's motivating.
Yes, I feel run down, so just taking it easy.

Great steps @WorthySloth . Welldone.

21st - 3,411 steps
22nd - 7,439 steps

I hope to get to 8,000 steps tomorrow Thursday (well, today).

@10kstepsaday & @Joolly2 , how are you both?

@Midlifeshenanigans , how are you getting on with hitting your 1st target - 5K steps minimum. Sending you good vibes.

10kstepsaday · 23/07/2026 09:04

Well done @WorthySloth and enjoy your time off!!
Well done @Clearingaspace and @Onegramatatime😃

Thank you OneGram, doing OK over here!
WFH today but hoping to nip out at lunch for a walk. Did 10 mins of yoga this morning which felt like a poor excuse for moving my body tbh but I did it to get started again and do SOMETHING 🤣

OP posts:
WorthySloth · 23/07/2026 09:47

Sorry everyone no idea what happened there! Work again today will be doing some walking not sure how much tho.

Have remembered today why I never normally do 4 12 hour shifts in a row 😭😭

10kstepsaday · 23/07/2026 19:44

Yesterday was 10.8K but today just 4.9K
Unable to get out for a walk and glued to the desk! Work so busy and my head feels scrambled now!!
Nearly the weekend!

OP posts:
Midlifeshenanigans · 23/07/2026 20:42

Thanks for asking @Onegramatatime - so far this week I have done

6147 Monday
5075 Tuesday
4334 Wednesday
9944 Today

so failed yesterday but had a good day today. Not sure how to get more steps in in data I’m chained to my desk all day.

WorthySloth · 23/07/2026 21:17

done just over 10k today which is amazing for a work day. I know who I am with tomorrow so I will mostly be in the car but I’m going out after work getting a lift but may possibly walk home. Or I will be dancing or something. Son has said he will pick me up I will see how the night goes

Clearingaspace · 23/07/2026 23:17

Excellent @Midlifeshenanigans thats much higher than your target!

@WorthySloth lovely that your son picks you up! Well done on steps!

hope your work will calm down a bit and be less head scrambling @10kstepsaday - what type of job do you have

21000 steps today (not working today, but still shocked it’s so many!)

Onegramatatime · 24/07/2026 03:40

@Midlifeshenanigans , that's really good. You are averaging above 6K steps. That's more than your 1st target of hitting 5K and building on that! Onwards and upwards.

@Clearingaspace , i bow! 🙇‍♀️ 😁. Simply marvelous. What did you do today?

@WorthySloth , you do need a name change. You are so very unsloth-like. From previous posts, we can tell that getting a lift, will not stop you from hitting that magic number. (cheering you on).

@10kstepsaday , hope you get a restful night's sleep and that scrambled head feeling is a distance dream.
How are you managing to work with DC on holiday? Is that what's contributing to the scrambled head feeling? Thank God, the weekend is aaaaaalmmmmooost here.

@Joolly2 , just checking in. How are you doing?

I said i would try to get to 8K steps today. I did it! 10,399 steps today.
I hope to gradually get my mojo back.

WorthySloth · 24/07/2026 07:22

Thank you everyone for your encouragement! My actual goal this month is to beat last months average of 10243 per day. Hopefully on track to do that helped by my London trip at the start of the month 😁
