If you are 5’3 and weigh under 8.5 stone, what do you eat in a typical day?

And how much do you exercise?

I want to lose some weight, ideally to be around the 8 - 8.5 stone mark.

I realise it’s technically healthy but I’m 5ft 2 and I think I would look ill at that weight.

It’s pretty much the middle of the healthy weight range so I doubt anyone would look ill unless they’d previously been very overweight and the difference was alarming in comparison until you’d got used to seeing someone at the new weight. Ethnicity makes a difference. I’m good Anglo-Irish breeding stock and not at all dainty.

As well as a lot of people posting that they are vegetarian it appears that most of us are very active. I’ve read on so many threads that exercise doesn’t help weight loss but it certainly seems to help maintain a healthy weight for those posting here.

I am 5ft 2” and 8st 2lb. I weigh the same (40 years later) as I did when I was sixteen. I tend not to let weight go on. Half a stone on and a few days of moderation. I don’t really exercise but I have just signed up to the gym. I have an allotment which gives me physical activity and healthy food.

During lockdown my weight was increasing. To manage this I have removed eating at breakfast time. I find this much easier than restricting foods at other times and I’m less hungry than when I have eaten breakfast.

Usually a glass of water and cup of tea when I get up.
Brunch is breakfast type food, porridge fruit & nuts, or scrambled egg, a bacon sandwich etc
Dinner after 17.00 is a high protein meal, lots of chicken, fish, pulses, veg.

Evening a cup of tea and a biscuit.

Quite flexible during days out, today a bacon sandwich and an ice cream this afternoon. Last night oven baked chips and a burger (family staying). Good Friday was fish and chips out followed by sticky toffee pudding.

I don’t deny food and I’m quite relaxed about it.

I'm 41 and 5ft, I weight 6.7 stone. I eat lots of fruit and vegetables, wholemeal bread, cottage cheese, eggs, baked beans and some dark chocolate as a treat. I drink 2l of water a day and usually walk 4-5 miles a day 4/5 days a week. I also do 4 exercise sessions at home each week focusing on my core using weights I bought.

5"4 110lb

10% Greek yog (never Greek style) with
frozen berries I've defrosted overnight

Lunch either home made soup or decent salad with a grain, beans, chicken or cheese if I'm at work. I often skip if home.

Dinner small portion of something home made. Anything from chicken with whole grains to stirfry.

Snacks are fruit and nuts, occasionally a small piece of chocolate.

I'm 5'4 and under 8 stone, if that's also helpful?

Yesterday I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast, homemade sushi for lunch (a nori seaweed sheet filled with rice and tuna mayo with soy sauce), with 1/3 of a bar of green and blacks milk chocolate. Then dinner was leftover harissa butter beans with a pitta and then another bowl of cereal before bed.

No exercise due to me/cfs. The most I'll do is some gentle gardening (weeding or planting) or a short 20 minute walk but not every day.
