March thread for anyone who wants to join in with getting their 10k a day steps in each day. A place to be accountable and motivate each other!

The Feb Thread was super positive and friendly and involved a lot of us getting outdoors in the rain, jumping on the walking pad and wandering around our lounges to hit the last few steps 🤩 and one of us wandering around a cruise ship 😁

Hopefully March will bring more sunshine fuelled walks ☀️ Let's do this!!

Just over 11,000 today, mainly on the walking pad as the weather was so rubbish, plus a weights session. Hope everyone's doing ok today

10kstepsaday · 16/03/2026 08:58

35K is insane @CleanandLight109
I am sooo impressed! That's got to be a record!!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend whatever you got up to! I'm going for a walk with a friend today to kick start my week off and get those steps in!!

Didn’t get 10k steps in yesterday but reckoned my weekly average was about 11,000 steps a day. Just done a 9.5k walk to drop of bits to a charity shop so should finished the day on around 12-13k

10kstepsaday · 16/03/2026 20:49

Woohoo, actually hit goal today 🥳
Always find it easier on my day off!!

Hope everyone had a great Monday!!

Well done @10kstepsaday and @TheSlimmingPumpkin

I got 10k in before going to a gym class this evening. Trying (where feasible) to do that, as for a while I think I was assuming I was active because of going to the gym a couple of times a week, not realising how sedentary overall I had become.
Hoping the weather tomorrow will inspire me to get out more rather than relying on the walking pad though.

Joolly2 · 17/03/2026 00:21

Hi all, have had a very busy weekend and today was the same. I just about hit 10,000 Sunday and Monday. Lots of work in the garden and a trip to the tip this morning. Garden beginning to look better for all the attention. Not so good on the vegetable front. I'm going to put more effort into this starting tomorrow. Everyone is doing so well, keep it up.

Birdsongisangry · 17/03/2026 21:03

11,100 today. I got my little report from Fitbit for last week which I was sort of pleased with (average 9700 a day) but wish I had realised how close I was as would have pushed myself at the weekend! I had two very low days due to working late and didn't realise it was (relatively) close still.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 17/03/2026 22:36

12,000 steps today 💪🏻

SilenceInside · 17/03/2026 23:32

Hello all. Got my 10k steps in at the weekend, and this week so far. Trying to get to 11k steps each day but every so often I find it hard to squeeze that in. 11.5k today which I am happy with.

10kstepsaday · 18/03/2026 13:24

I think 11k might be unreasonable for me day to day 🤣 I got 10k yesterday but my 'rainbow' on my app hasnt closed so many times this month because I moved the goal post.... Think I will put it back.

Evening all, forgot to post yesterday. I just made it to 10,000 by walking round the house.
Today I've managed 13,066. Such a lovely day, the weather has such a big impact on everyone's mood. Everyone I passed was smiling. I hope you have all had a good day.
@10kstepsaday please don't get downhearted. It's quite a big jump to go up 1,000. Could you go back to 10,000 but in your head aim to beat it by 500 steps. Then if you get consistent go up another 500?

10kstepsaday · 19/03/2026 15:55

Well done @Joolly2
Yes I have moved it back down to 10K now 🤣 good plan to still psychologically aim for a bit higher without the pressure. Sometimes I can be quite rigid in my thinking!

Just over 12,000 today. 5km run and a coffee walk to the allotment nailed it for me using Strava

Joolly2 · 19/03/2026 23:31

I'm yawning my head off, so my bed must be calling. I've managed 12,160 steps today which I'm pleased with.
I'm restarting my quest to eat vegetables. Today I've had... root veg mash, lentils, tomatoes, onion and carrot. Nothing new but I like to think of it as consolidating past victories. 😁 I'll try and slip something new in tomorrow.

Forgot to post in here, but did 9500 on Wednesday and 12300 yesterday, I'm confident that I'll be above a 10k average this week.

10kstepsaday · 20/03/2026 14:54

Well done everyone 🥳 feeling motivated today!
My algorithm keeps showing me videos of people getting their steps in on SM, which is kicking me up the bum!
I have reset my watch to 10k goal so it's realistic and anything over that is a bonus!
Need to be more accountable again and share my screenshots. Weather is gorgeous today so just went on a 3K walk in the sunshine! Listened to a Mel Robbins podcast whilst doing it which was v interesting!!

10kstepsaday · 20/03/2026 20:59

Here's today's screenshot, so ironic that I lowered my target and then smashed it 🤣
Ended up going for a second smaller walk after lunch so double whammy today!!

Good evening everyone. 11,594 steps today, pleased with that. Not so good on the veg front. I haven't had time to shop so no new veg today, I've eaten the same as yesterday plus parsnip soup.
@10kstepsaday great total, well done. I've never heard of Mel Robbins so I googled her. I'm interested and if I can work out how to listen to podcasts I'll have a listen.
@Birdsongisangry @TheSlimmingPumpkin you are both smashing it.

10kstepsaday · 21/03/2026 07:09

Yes I definitely rate her @Joolly2
I just listen on Spotify :)

I have a weekend with absolutely ZERO plans, yay!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend 😄

Evening all, went out this evening for an early dinner, walked there and back so I have finished the day with a total of 17,780 steps. Very pleased with that.
No new veg again today, just parsnip soup for lunch, curry this evening so no veg in that. I'm slipping back into old ways so will have to try harder tomorrow.

10kstepsaday · 21/03/2026 21:49

Wow that's an awesome total @Joolly2
I'm just over the 10k after a fairly chilled day. Had a bit of a mooch around the shops but that was about it :) .
I'm making a tomato and red pepper soup tomorrow 😋

13,500 steps today, mostly on the walking pad at a good pace, plus I did a 20mins Joe Wicks workout! And I have some nice chilli (low fat beef + lots of chopped veg) and some chicken and vegetable soup that I've batch cooked ready in the fridge for next week. The tomato and red pepper soup sounds lovely @10kstepsaday !

It's not all good here, I've also eaten far too much galaxy this weekend, but I'm hoping to keep increasing the good habits to leave less room for the bad ones!

I realised I can look back week by week on my fitbit app and I've doubled the daily steps I was typically doing up until January (mainly having the walking pad and being able to walk whilst working, it's been a godsend)

10kstepsaday · 22/03/2026 21:12

Well done @Birdsongisangry for the steps and the workout 🤩 my soup was delish!!
You cannot beat Galaxy in my opinion 😋

Just over 10k for me today!! Had a pretty chilled day! The lighter evening are so nice, after dinner I went for a 20 min walk with the kids to help get the steps done but also it was so nice to move after eating and the kids loved it! And they went to sleep straight away so maybe that helped 😏

Pub roast lunch today! Needed a long walk afterward. I reckon my average steps per day according to strava works out about to just under 11,000 a day.

My Fitbit is refusing to sync/reset etc so I think I am going to start looking at a Garmin watch.

Joolly2 · 23/03/2026 00:12

Gosh everyone is smashing the steps, well done. I only just made it over the 10,000 today, but I did also manage an hour of pilates.
@Birdsongisangry I'm another one who can't resist Galaxy, if it's in the house it has to be eaten.
I'm liking the sound of the tomato and red pepper soup. I'm going to add that to my list of things to try. No new veg again today. Must try harder tomorrow.
