I know some of you will say it’s awful, but I know quite a few people who are doing really well on it. So I’m giving it a go.
Can’t find anything on mn recently though for support.
please don’t post if you’re not going to be positive thank you.

I'm not going to be positive because it's utter shite you're consuming rather than real food - you might lose weight but it will be muscle as well as fat and you'll deplete your body while you do it. If you want to cut calories then do so without gimmicks. Learn to count your macros, aim for more protein and veg and lower carbs and steer clear of the scammy pyramid scheme overpriced fake food shakes.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 31/01/2026 07:48

God I thought that shit had disappeared.

JustAnotherNameChange2026 · 31/01/2026 07:58

Watch ‘Betting on Zero’ on Netflix before you give this company any money. They have destroyed lives.

NCTDN · 31/01/2026 23:06

Hahaha,. A Friend from school about 15 years ago was promoting this plus boot camp 😬, it was in a local hairdressers so I went with a few others for the free champagne, ended up buying the herbalife on a subscription for 6 months. Lost fuck all apart from money and had green poop 💩 😔. Girl from school is now an alcoholic and had a really rough time. I feel so sorry for her, she was never overly fat, I guess some people change one addiction for another.

I'm afraid I have no recent experience of it at all OP. I did try it about 30yrs ago at the persuasion of a boyfriend- need I say anymore.

I recall going to a domestic block of flats and getting the bottles of pills handed over the door. Its felt extremely dodgy like a drug deal. I didn't lose any weight and thankfully got rid of that boyfriend eventually. I'd spend your money on a dietician and/or fitness trainer instead.

I should hope that it is helpful. Posters are not trying to rain on your parade, Herbalife is a genuinely toxic company and you won’t lose weight on it. Save your money, watch that documentary I posted and look at alternatives x

Didn’t this die out along with Aloe forever living rubbish and that make up brand

DefinitelyNotMaybe · 01/02/2026 10:26

These 'few people who are doing well on it' - let me guess, they're selling it?

Well we don't want you to be part of a dodgy scheme that rips off poor people and supplies questionable quality products that are vastly overpriced.

DotNTimmy · 01/02/2026 10:36

There's nothing wrong with meal replacement shakes, if they work for you. But buy decent ones.

HL have 222 (i think) calories per shake and only 18g of protein - AND you have to make it with milk to get that and the milk gives you 9g! So you're buying a 'meal replacement' with only 9g of protein in it - that's expensive utter crap.

A proper meal replacement shake like Altralife will give you 21g of protein when mixing with water, the same calories and a far better micronutrient profile.

You'd rather we all just lied to you and told you it was a great idea???

Crofthead · 01/02/2026 10:43

A controversial, ultra processed mlm product is not the road to better health. Why can’t you reduce your calorie intake to be more in line with your calories needed?

Iloveeverycat · 01/02/2026 10:51

Didn't know this was still a thing it's was about in the 80s
I can lose weight just by cutting out sugar, chocolate, snacks etc. Not eating between meals. Switching to skimmed milk.

EllenWest · 01/02/2026 11:37

@fashionqueen0123 was the make up ‘Younique” ?

Ha yes! Or poonique as I saw it renamed 🤣

EllenWest · 01/02/2026 13:03

@fashionqueen0123 I have just taken a look on eBay out of curiosity - i did get conned into buying one of those fibre mascaras it was £17, now £5 on eBay along with thousands of other products, must be all rotten by now.

edit. I really hope the OP hasn’t been scammed though

OP what is it about it that appeals to you? I’m sure we could find an alternative that is better for you and not part of such an incredibly toxic company.

I prefer real food but when I do want a shake I like Huel. They now do a lower calorie version too.

Other people will have other recommendations.

Guessing the friend who did well on it is a seller? Please don’t be manipulated into wasting your hard earned cash on a scam.

Not come back to this because the negativity put me off. But to update, I know of 6 people who have lost between 2 and 5 stone recently on it. None of them have any affiliation with the company or the consultants and importantly for me, none of them are hungry.

Do you really want to lose weight by paying through the nose to eat a very low calorie diet which will decimate your muscle mass, thereby almost guaranteeing greater rebound fat regain and lower metabolic function when you stop, on the spurious claim that they contain the same vitamins and minerals as real fruit and vegetables?
If so, crack on. But educate yourself on how it 'works' before you do.

stripeydressingdown · 06/02/2026 10:24

I remember talking to a rep from Herbalife years ago. I never bought it but was sorely tempted as she was promising the moon on a stick. This was pre internet so no way of researching.

I did do Cambridge diet which was shakes and did what everyone did. Paid a fortune lost weight quickly then regained it.

I ended up having surgery.

The meal replacement shakes are just no good long term. We know this now. The evidence over 30 odd years does not support VLC diets.

Good luck whatever you decide to do. None of this is easy.

Are you absolutely sure? That seems a very weird social circle
I suppose if I stretch a long way, I know 5-6 people who have lost large amounts of weight recently, but every single one was on WLI - no wait, one had a gastric band.
Dont know one person taking Herbalife let alone losing weight on it

That is hugely unlikely - they are doing other things

I know one person who is attending SW and using WLI.... but they only talk about the SW
