I know some of you will say it’s awful, but I know quite a few people who are doing really well on it. So I’m giving it a go.
Can’t find anything on mn recently though for support.
please don’t post if you’re not going to be positive thank you.

You may say hugely unlikely but five different groups around here and friends spread amongst them.

Blimey on two counts, a/ that anyone still spends money on this when so so much better out there now, and b/anyone actually knows multiple people spending money on that shite,

God I thought that shit had disappeared.

Me too! I remember the family I was au-pairing for in the 90s did this, persuaded by their friend who was a salesperson for Herbalife. I remember them drinking these nasty, thin milkshakes rather than having a proper meal. They both lost weight (no surprise, since they were barely eating anything) and I remember thinking that I'd rather be fat than live on that muck. It's just expensive SlimFast😆

EskarinaS · 06/02/2026 13:20

Someone I know is a rep. She's lost about 10 stone over the last 5 years. However she's heavier now than she was when she started - she's constantly yo yoing and it can't be good for her

LifeisLemons · 06/02/2026 16:16

All you’ll lose is your money and your friends.
Honestly, don’t fall for the hype. It’s just pure fakery.

On the other hand the weight loss injections definitely work!

@JustAnotherNameChange2026agree, Betting on Zero was shocking. All about the criminal activity of Herbashite, stripping cash from poor communities, people losing their homes, taking their own lives, really shocking. Awful pyramid scheme selling hope of both weight loss and earning an income - both unlikely to happen. Mumsnet has a policy about not letting MLMs promote their business model or product on the site because it is so unethical which is why you can’t find support threads here @NCTDN

It’s just awful. Honestly I see no difference in supporting Herbalife by buying their products, and supporting a drug cartel by buying drugs. The harm, devastation and deaths that company have caused is shocking and anyone giving them money should take a long hard look at themselves.

Exactly. I just can’t see why anyone would choose them when there are so many alternatives to be bought from reputable companies. Especially as most of the alternatives are so superior in terms of ingredients, nutrition etc.

I can only think it’s a peer pressure thing when people have friends who are sellers.

In defence of the OP if it was that easy then there would be no multimillion pound diet industry including meal replacement products, injections and surgery.

If the OP is still reading (and is using the products) it would be interesting to see how she is doing and give her support.

It’s horrible thinking everyone is taking the piss.

TheBestThingthatAlmostHappened · 12/02/2026 15:17

Wow, is Herbalife still a thing? I thought it had long been clear it was a scam.

It isn't. Because being fat is awful, people don't want to be, and many many people are. Because it's hard.

I've found low-carb great. But it is work. Not easy. Just not impossible like many other methods.

stripeydressingdown · 12/02/2026 20:07

Just started watching Betting on Zero on YouTube 😮

Everyone is not taking the piss. Everyone just thinks Herbalife is a terrible company and a terrible product, and wants OP to know that so she can avoid being ripped off.

YouOKHun · 12/02/2026 22:28

@stripeydressingdown Herbalife’s conduct in Betting on Zero is shocking isn’t it? I think that is what almost all of us are reacting to. I would never comment on someone’s body, weight or desire to lose weight but with Herbalife the shoddy products are the tip of the iceberg.

If people are losing weight with Herbalife I’m not surprised as any restriction will have an effect for as long as anyone can stand it. The reason is partly down to the group dynamic with an extra dose of coercion. It won’t be long before the weight losers are persuaded to become distributors as the product will then appear cheaper, then they will need to monitise their friends.

80% of sign ups to MLM drop out after a few months having made a loss but this 80% is not counted in MLM income disclosures, so companies like Herbalife get to present figures that, though dire, don’t show that the real loss rate. The reality is that after taking expenses into account a whopping 99.6% fail to turn a profit in MLM. But in the UK they don’t even need to produce income disclosures which is shocking considering the damage they do.

Just watch the £££s drop off Confused

There a woman on my street who used to peddle it. She was always on at me to get some. Every time I saw her she was on and on about it and in the end I cracked up and told her that she was fatter than I was so why would I want to eat what she was eating.

Yes, I know it’s wrong… but I’m howling 🙈😅

I was honestly at the end of my rope with her. I would be getting my child out of her car seat or my shopping out of the boot or walking past with my dog and there she was talking about her pesky supplements. she didn’t ask again!

StCuntyMcCunterson · 13/02/2026 06:04

Can’t believe this shit is still going. Do what works for you but it’s calories in vs out. No science to it. Eat less. Try protein shakes rather than their shit shakes - for value and nutrition. I say this as a fat person. It’s absolute pish.
