9lbs since Dec 1st.

Ignoring it till Jan so may be a bit more next week 🤣. Was thinking of ordering MJ but should probably try and lose it myself (had maintained for 6 months beforehand)

Interesting title!

saltgreyocean · 26/12/2025 11:11

I’m nearly a stone up 😳 most of that is water weight but after today it’s back on it for me.

Yes, I'm definitely retaining but still a big jump on the scales.

Can MN change the title 😳

They made me laugh! I was confused how you’d had a 9lb poo! MJ seems extreme for 9lbs.

I lost my weight on MJ and my Dr said I can use it fo maintaining but I managed alone before Xmas. I have several autoimmune conditions as well as MH issues and am heavily medicated and just find it extremely difficult to loose anything alone.

Edited

High protein, low carb, tracking food intake, sticking to a deficit, lots of water, increase in movement/exercise, few weeks/months of this and it will drop down quickly.

Purplewarrior · 26/12/2025 13:57

I’m also hoping to evacuate the damage!!

Thought you’d made a Yule log. (Sorry)

Shhh. Pointing out things like that gets you roasted more than a Christmas turkey. Anybody not gaining weight at a similar rate will be accused of being a teeny tiny, which is a heinous crime round these parts 😂

Only wish I too could evacuate the damage 😭

saltgreyocean · 26/12/2025 17:29

The amount of trifle I’ve eaten today means my damage is gonna be closer to a stone and half

RoundandSad · 26/12/2025 17:36

Honestly, I clicked on this thread because I was scared 😂😂

So you were on MJ and now you're not? And you want to go back on.

But are you a normal weight now, even if you gained 9 lb wouldn't you still be a normal weight like a medically acceptable one?

I have one friend who gains 10 lb every Xmas and just gets rid of it in January. He finds it perfectly normal. He also does dry January.

I had my eighth MJ today. So I'm interested to see how people do when they come off

Yes, I am a healthy weight but if you originally lost with MJ and have a small gain you can contact your doctor and they can represcribe for a smaller loss and maintenance. You just can't start it at a normal BMI.

@Mariiecat thanks
Do all the providers do that? It's good to know for forward planning.

But you might not need it - lots of people put weight on over Christmas and then it goes in January anyway

Moonlight222 · 26/12/2025 17:47

I’ve been off it 3 and half months. I also run 3/4 times per week and I eat well now and leave food on my plate every single time. I had a small amount of alcohol yesterday. I ran Xmas Eve and today. Scale has gone up 1lb today, 3-4 gained since I came off. I drank lots of water yesterday. I did have some chocolate yesterday and a small amount of Yule log but clocked up over 15000 steps.

I don't know, I got it from my Dr on NHS through the weight management programme, so it may be different.
