Weight loss for Christmas!

Hi everyone!
I am desperate to lose 10lb before the end of the year! I started the year with a goal to lose 2st 4lb and only have 10lb left to go so have lost 1st 8lb so far. I am pretty pleased with this but will be so proud of myself if I reach my goal that I set out at the start of this year!

However, the last 4 months I have really lost motivation and I have gained and lost the same 4 pounds which is annoying. I really need to start eating like I was at the start of the year but I’m struggling to find any motivation. Today has been one of the worst and I’ve eating so much already and we are only at the start of the afternoon

I was wondering if anyone wanted to use this thread to support each other with whatever personal goals you have - let’s reach them together!

Am I too late to join? I’d love half a stone off by Christmas…. Used to be able to drop a few pounds every month easily but post meno that’s proving impossible.
I’m almost sabotaging myself by thinking that I might as well just eat as I’m overweight anyway. I lost my dad recently and any semblance of routine seems to have left the building.

I’ve been a bit quiet here but still plodding on and lost 3lbs I think since I last posted.
3lbs off 3 stone lost this year so on the final push to Xmas!

I think I’ve reached a plateau. I’ve been eating healthily since about January and gone down a clothes size. I only started weighing myself 2 weeks ago and I weighed myself today and was the same as last Friday. I am doing all the right things so I just need to keep it up.

On Sunday I tried on a new gold top I bought for a party in 3 weeks. It fits but I think I have too much fat around my ribs and stomach and I doubt if I’ll have lost that in 3 weeks. It’ll be a Christmas Day outfit and I won’t mind looking slightly chubby in it but I do need to find something for the party. I have jumper dresses that look ok but I wanted to wear something sparkly.

Starting weight 30 Oct 197 lbs
weight now 191.8 lbs

so 1.3 lbs off in a week. I’m happy with that.

66.7 this week so down 1.5kg since Halloween. Have been so unwell this week though so its probably just misery and dehydration....

I’m late to the party but I’m in! I want to lose 7lbs 🤞🤞🤞 stubborn last bit of pregnancy weight. I feel flabby round the tummy and legs.

currently 9 stone 7, want to get to 9.

A really good result. I’ve lost 2lbs so I’m down to 189.8lbs down from 197 on 30 0ctober. I wanted to lose 8lbs by Xmas and I’m almost there.

Im now wondering if I can do another 7lbs by New Year’s Eve. I’m mentally totting up my Christmas plans and wondering if it’s possible.

Just to update I’m 2lbs away from the Xmas day goal! Absolutely thrilled with this and just praying the last 2lbs come off nicely

@PersisFord In a nutshell I am just eating fewer calories than I consume - about 400 to 500 fewer a day.

I made gradual lifestyle changes from about January and started calorie counting with my fitness pal in October. I read the book on ultra processed foods by Chris van tulleken, the weight loss book by his brother, the 30 plants book by Hugh fearnley wittingstall and I have listened to the Zoe podcast for about two years.

I track my exercises with a garmin watch and do enough walking to get an extra 300 or 400 calories a day. I walk to the shops every day now and do a few laps of my local park to get my steps up. I’ve gone from a sloth speed to very quick walk / almost run up hills.

i aim to eat 30 plants a week. Breakfast is often my own porridge seed mixes or muesli or fruit / seed compotes that can be frozen and added to porridge. I sometimes make a soup that’ll be dinner for a few days or curry. I always add yogurt or kefir to them to have a fermented product for my gut health.

I feel really good but I’m not expecting a big drop this week because dp keeps coming over with crap food. He’s done really well to lose 2 stone on mountjaro but he keeps bringing treats over and I’m very all or nothing. If I eat a piece of sugary processed crap I then eat more. I’m actually quite pissed off with him and am going to spend the weekend on my own (well with the dc). Fortunately we don’t live together.
