Weight loss for Christmas!

Hi everyone!
I am desperate to lose 10lb before the end of the year! I started the year with a goal to lose 2st 4lb and only have 10lb left to go so have lost 1st 8lb so far. I am pretty pleased with this but will be so proud of myself if I reach my goal that I set out at the start of this year!

However, the last 4 months I have really lost motivation and I have gained and lost the same 4 pounds which is annoying. I really need to start eating like I was at the start of the year but I’m struggling to find any motivation. Today has been one of the worst and I’ve eating so much already and we are only at the start of the afternoon

I was wondering if anyone wanted to use this thread to support each other with whatever personal goals you have - let’s reach them together!

Me! Me! Me!
I’m all geared up to start a month of fast800 tomorrow. I have loosely started this week but we had a family birthday and then Halloween but tomorrow I am totally up for NOvember- no sugar, no booze, no excuses. I have done it before and had really good results, I think a strict month before the Christmas madness will be good 👍

I’ll join. I need to do 7lb to make a total of three stone this year, been in a plateau since end of august and the two months before that I loss slowed to half a pound a week - although now it’s nothing!
bit confused if I need to increase calories or decrease and in a muddle so here to get the next half a stone off

Well I have not started today as my friend returned from holiday with delicious cakes for me 🙃
Back to work Monday so I think that’ll be a good kick start.

I’m in, weight has crept up over the summer and I can deny it no longer!

1st November I weighed 11st2 and 3/4
my happy weight is around 10st

plan is to do some kind of exercise every day even if it’s just a walk and to eat really clean, nutritious meals, no UPFs or booze and limit obvious carbs.

yesterday I got the rowing machine out ready to assemble and did a little strength exercise routine chatGPT suggested. Today I plan to go for a (slow!) 5k run and hopefully a walk with the family later. I have some homemade veggie shepherds pie in the freezer so am thinking that with lots of veg for dinner.

Bit late to the group but would love to join too. I weigh in kg and lost about 6kgs Jan - Mar. Have kept it off but would really love to start 2026 10kg lighter than I did 2025!
November is a really busy month socially starting with lots of family visiting and celebrations for my eldest’s 21st next weekend but I’m determined to still make it work around this. 2kg per month should be doable!!!

I’m a target member at SW but always wanted 7lbs more off

If I get my 10k steps in it 'earns' me just under 500 calories which really helps with my calorie deficit. I've got a really busy week next week with lots of travel so I'm going to at least try and get my steps in every day.

God Halloween was deadly! I used to be so good at just ignoring snacks if they were in the house, these days if it is there I eat it!

I have a Very Nice Dress to wear at the start of Dec for a girls weekend in London it zips up fine but it is snug on the arms, and i know if I get in the zone I will just feel so much more comfortable in it!

I have soup for lunch and then probably spinach and eggs for dinner - random but it's one of my favourite "diet" dinners

Hi. I’d like to join. My weight has yoyoed over the years and I’m currently ‘up’. I’m being much more thoughtful about my health this time so doing 7000 steps a day and trying to
avoid ultra processed foods. In the last year I’ve read both books by the Van Tulleken twins - one on ultra processed foods and one on losing weight. I also listen to Zoe podcasts.

My approach this year (I started in January) was to

  • try to avoid ultra processed foods
  • yoga or Pilates once a week
  • 7000 steps a day
  • Thinking of my gut health more - so 30 plants a week and more fermented foods

I was scared to weigh myself or set targets because I know I was the heaviest I’ve ever been and it would depress me but I have gone down a dress size so I feel I have finally got some good lifetime habits

Something Xand van tulleken said was to
weigh yourself daily and log what you eat on my fitness pal so I started doing that last week.

current weight is 195,3 lbs

im trying to eat about 1200 to 1400 calories a day but as long as its less than the calories I use I’m happy. My garmin watch sometimes says I use about 2000 calories a day.

i probably should set a target so I would really like to lose 8lbs by Xmas.

Well, im the most not accountable person as I have been struck down with some kind of superbug and have been in bed. In bed eating. So very sad state of affairs.

Will weigh myself again tomorrow and start from there!

Day 7 weigh in - I’m 10st10 down from 11st2 3/4 last Saturday morning - really pleased! I know a lot of it is just water etc but a motivating start!

I’m weighing daily but for accountability will report weekly. Annoyingly I’m down 1/2 lb to 193.1. I’m doing all the right things (apart from yesterday when I made a healthy curry but ate too much naan) so hoping for a bigger loss next week.
