Need to lose 2 stone

KindKhakiCrow · 18/10/2025 14:47

Does anyone want to join me on a 2 stone weight loss mission? In 49, menopausal and at 5”2 can’t afford to carry extra weight - yet here I am and have been losing and gaining the same 2 stone for the last 5-10 years. It’s at crisis point now for me as I’ve also got high cholesterol. I’m going to weigh myself properly in the morning so I’ve got my exact number and then plan to weigh weekly.
My weakness is snacking - crisps and chocolate mainly. And I also love carbs.
Can take or leave alcohol and don’t really do puddings or desserts either.
But I’m miserable and feel sluggish and hate the look and feel of my clothes. My chest seems to have taken the brunt of the weight gain and I look matronly.
Anyway I feel like getting it out of my head and down on here is the first step. So if anyone wants to join and we can keep each other motivated that would be fab.
Plan is calories no more than 1300, daily step count of around 15k and the gym at work twice a week when I’m in. Hoping this will be enough.
Anyone up for the challenge?

Im using Nutracheck and trying to average 1200 a day. Today's plan:
BF - Muesli, flax seeds, greek yog, blueberries
Lunch - salmon, half an avacado, tom's, pear, walnuts, drizzle of balsamic glaze
Dinner - chicken, lots of veg, 1 roast potatoe, gravy.

Including milk for coffee, collagen and vitamin drink that comes in at just below 1200. Good luck for the day eveyone!

Morning all, I know I said I was weighing on Friday this week but I couldn’t resist this morning and amazingly I’m 2lbs down. Assume this is mostly water but as I’ve been logging my food and steps the last few days it’s made me realise just how much I was eating and how little I was moving before - so I’ll take this!
About to get some steps in before logging on and then plan for the day is.
Breakfast: Special k with skimmed milk
Lunch: Home made celery soup with one slice of sourdough
Dinner: not sure yet. Maybe a jacket potato with beans.
Snacks will be fruit and yoghurt.

Did have one biscuit yesterday but I can’t cut things out completely and don’t want to either!

Hope everyone has a good day!

I’m absolutely starving. Average active calories are 2500, gym plus walking average of 14,000 steps eating average 1500.
I fear I might kill someone - lost nearly 2kg in 9 days.

Well done on the weight loss! Very motivating to see the numbers on the scales going down.

How’s everyone got on today?
I’ve mostly been on track but walked to Aldi this evening to get some bits and it was a real struggle not to get myself a treat. The food gremlins were doing their very best!
Bought things for tomorrow as I’m back in the office so it’ll be roasted salmon fillet, couscous and roasted vine tomatoes. Bit of a showbiz lunch!
Step count good so far.
Going to do some self care and then watch Traitors. Enough distraction to stop me
thinking about chocolate…

Can I join please? I'm 5ft 2 too but weighed in at 12 stone 3lbs (171 lbs) this morning. I feel huge, so unfit and unhealthy. I have a fatty liver and high cholesterol so really want and need to change both of these things. I'd like to lose just over 2 stone. That would take me to 10 stone which is still "overweight" for my height but that's what I was a few years ago and felt ok for me.

I'm 63 and have no idea where to start with exercise. I do around 7,000 steps a day so plan to increase this to 10,000. I like swimming so am going to go at least once a week. I have some weights and used to do Mr. Motivator youtubes during lockdown so might look him up again. Anyone else know of any other online exercise classes that are not too long/difficult? My knees are a bit dodgy so don't want to be squatting/lunging as this always aggravates them.

My diet plan is a simple one. I'm not counting calories. I'm just going to cut down on portion sizes as I eat huge portions. Cut out the crap snacks. Oh and no booze. I do love a beer/wine/cider in the evening but I guess that's where the fatty liver has come from. I've been vegan for years and love fruit, veg, lentils, oats etc. so at least I have that going for me.

It will be so helpful to join in with you all.

I will join also- about to have a hellishly hard month for a number of reasons so I feel I need a positive focus too. You guys are inspiring me to eat better and move more. I don’t even know what I weigh tbh. Around 13 stones. So 1.5-2 would be amazing…

Lovesgreen · 23/10/2025 08:17

With regards video's on line if I want a quick easy work out or just to top up my step count from the comfort of my home I do the Leslie Sansome "walk" video's. One is only 20 minutes and very easy to follow.

I’m going to join. I’m exactly the same as you. 5’ 2” and need to lose the two stone that I’ve already lost once. I had success last time doing the same as you. The weight came off slowly, but steadily. I don’t have a massive sweet tooth, but I do like my food, so portion control is a thing for me. I do like seconds. 🤭

Welcome! 1.5 to 2 stones feels do-able doesn’t it but it’s so hard to shift 🙁

It’s good to hear this way worked for you and I do think the slow but steady approach suits me better than going hell for leather with something that I know I can’t keep up. Hope you’ve had a good day today!

I did almost 10,000 steps today - hoping for 10,000 by bedtime.

Did 5 mins on rowing machine and planned to do 5 mins on step machine but only managed 2 as my legs felt like they were about to fall off.

Porridge for breakfast, homemade veg soup for lunch and jacket potato and homemade coleslaw for dinner. Two unplanned home made baked onion bhajis. Non alcoholic cider.

That food plan sounds healthy and delicious! How often are you weighing out of interest? I’ve had phases of doing it daily which isn’t sustainable and doing it weekly which feels better but can feel like a blow if I haven’t lost and have waited a week to find out!

Well done! I think I’ve gone over by about 100 on calories but my Fitbit is out of battery so unsure on steps. Not great as been in the office but reckon around 4000. Will get out on a walk shortly to bolster it.
Resisted shortbread today - had a whole box next to me me all day in the office so felt quite virtuous especially when I had my 3pm cup of tea. But my salmon and couscous lunch had more calories than I thought! It’s a real eye opener how just a couple of treats can tip you quite dramatically into a calorie overload.

8.5km walked before work. Did not want to get up at 4:30am to do it, nor do I want to feel this uncomfortable so I dragged myself up. Well done everyone as he head into the hard bit - the weekend !!!

Finally put a battery in my scales. 😬 Just confirmed what I already knew. Oh well! I’ve been walking and swimming this week, but I’m hopeless at swimming. Planning on doing some HIIT at home tomorrow, hopefully build my way back up to strength training. Hope everyone has had a good day, onwards and upwards!

CrowsInMyGarden · 24/10/2025 08:46

I’m away with lots of family for the weekend, it’s our 40th wedding anniversary. Going to try to stay off the booze but it will be hard.
