Ok, maybe not a full half stone, but 5lbs would be nice! I've been invited to a Halloween party and am feeling so self-conscious about my appearance. I'm about 3 stone overweight and I'd love to get it shifted, and while 5lbs might not be terribly noticeable I guess I'd feel more confident. I've been trying for about a month without any real success, so I'm going to start keeping a food diary on here from now til Halloween and log my exercise. If anyone would like to join me please do! Sometimes a short-term goal feels more achievable than a 'by Christmas' type thread.

I had 1665 calories today.

no exercise except running around after a toddler all day…I’m exhausted 😅

hope to get a walk in tomorrow and keep on track with calories 🤞🏼

@TC2023 Urgh, it's so hard to diet with a toddler to care for! They're such hard work it makes you really work up and appetite without really burning the calories in the same way! And who has the energy for exercising after a day of that?!

I've just weighed myself and I've bloody GAINED 2lbs!!! How unfair is that?! I think I've been taking on too many calories for my (non-existent) activity level. It's very depressing.

Spinach and pinenut muffins - 150
Guacamole - 100
Babybel - 100
Yoghurt - 50

Dinner: Coucous - 200
Courgette and sweetcorn - 100
Falafel - 250

Banana - 100

Total: 1550. I did at least have a walk today, about 40 mins.

Having the willpower to get on track again after having slipped up is huge! That's something I really struggle with.

Oat bar - 250

Lunch: Houmous - 200
Cucumber sticks - negligible
Seeded flatbread - 100
Babybel - 100
Satsuma - 50
Cake bar - 100

Dinner: Butternut squash soup - 200
Cheese sandwich - 200
Raspberries - 50
Cereal bar - 100

Total: 1500. Again, more than I'd have hoped for! Not having a good day today though so it could have been worse. One walk of about 40 minutes.

Can I join?

I have around 2 stone to lose to get to a healthy weight. Only lost 2 pounds so far this month.

Today I had:
Waffle - 169 cal
Babybel - 59 cal
Chicken curry, naan and salad - 928 cal
Red velvet cake - 273 cal

1329 cals
Only a little over 3,000 steps. Hoping to go to the gym tomorrow.

Bag of babyleaf salad - negligible

Total: 1750. As I've had absolutely no exercise whatsoever today, I'll be lucky if I've not gained on that! I just hate being hungry. I must get some steps in tomorrow.

can I share some input. Weigh yourself same time every day. Once a week isn’t enough I think. Then a get a more accurate reading.

I was 73kg this morning. So I am down 1kg since start of October. Its so slow but at least it is going down i guess. I am hoping for another 1 kg at least before Halloween. Don't think i will make half a stone at this stage 😫

@TC2023 Well done!! A loss is a loss. We still have over a week until Halloween, I reckon you can do another kg by then, but if not I'm planning to extend the deadline until bonfire night anyway as I somehow managed to gain 2lbs last week...!

I had 1600 calories yesterday. More than planned but the cold rainy weather has me wanting all the comfort food. Salads just aren't appealing in the rain 😆I went to the gym and did a short walk at lunch time so that will help.

Going to aim for 1500 today and a walk this evening.

No, I can't. I just know I'd give up altogether if I even went a bit hungry and I can't afford to do that! Slow and steady wins the race...

I'm late to the party but I'm in.

I tried on my Halloween costume on Friday, and boy, would it look a lot better if I could shift a few pounds, but it's damage limitation at this stage.

I'm going to get back on My Fitness app and try to fit at least one hour of walking each day. My PT pal tells me walking is great for fat burning.
