Accountability thread September 2025

Hoping that posting this gives me the motivation to stick with something for once! I'm 36, 5"3 and 151lbs (weighed today). Size 10 on top, 12 on bottle and somewhere between hour glass and pear. Not brilliant at getting 5 a day.

Ideally I'd ultimately like to get to 125lbs but I think for September I'm going to set myself 5-10lb goal. I want to be less wobbly!

I'm going to try to stay at 1300kcal a day, increase fruit and veg and do some daily excersise - are there any recommendations for a daily (free) routine? I looked at the 30 day shred thread but it sounds a bit brutal? I'm not particularly fit! I'm also going to try to drink 2l water daily.

If anyone would like to join me please feel free to share progress and tips!

Day 1 has gone well food wise - made a sweet potato and spinach satay curry for dinner which was very filling. Later I'll have a banana or some yoghurt and nuts. I had a slim fast for lunch which I know is a bit frowned upon here but I'm just going to use it for a few pounds motivation - I'm also much better if I have less choice so if this is lunch I'll find it easier to stick to!

I’ll join you @bringonthebermonths. I’m very similar in size/weight. I need some motivation but I frequently fail after a few days. I blame exhaustion but perhaps that’s an excuse and perhaps I wouldn’t be as exhausted if I wasn’t as wobbly. My first day wasn’t ideal - porridge, out for lunch and then meat, potatoes and veg for dinner. Didn’t have the wine I fancied or the chocolate so I’m glad about that but did have a tonic water and lime - if you have any suggestions for nice drinks I’ll take them! I’ve recently given up caffeine / coffee which would have been my usual after dinner drink!

amibeth1 · 01/09/2025 20:29

Evening, I’ll join you too please. Today was my first day back after the school summer break. My aims for September are to walk at least 10,000 steps per day, to increase the amount of fruit and vegetables I eat and hopefully lose 4kg - current weight is 79kg and I’m only 5ft4.
I’ve also restarted my weekly Pilates class and found a kettlebells class to do once a week.

bringonthebermonths · 01/09/2025 21:16

Nice to have some buddies!

I forgot to mention DH and I are also doing "sober September" after the summer holidays!

I quite like a blackcurrant and lemonade at a pub if I'm not drinking, with a straw for full maturity, obvs.

I hear the failure after a few days for sure - I'm normally quite good for about 3 days then I'll have a tiny blip and think "ah well, that's the day ruined, might as well eat an entire packet of biscuits" 🤦🏻‍♀️

Day 2 down, I've pretty much eaten the same thing in a different order 😂

Ds (7) wanted to do some excersise so I tried putting a kids one on YouTube. Luckily he got bored after a few minutes because the warm up nearly killed me! Maybe I'll be better when I'm lighter ?!

Your post is exactly me - same size, shape, weight. I have no motivation and fail on day one. I know I need to drink water, but I just drink tea. Need some help to get focused and not snack on the wrong things.

bringonthebermonths · 02/09/2025 21:46

@Nomotivation123im also a demon for tea (and coffee) - I've swapped semi skimmed milk for skimmed and sugar for sweetener so hopefully that'll have a tiny impact.

I was a bit snacky just now so had 30g cheddar across 2 ryvita and sliced up a tomato from the garden then microwaved it for 29 secs and added a bit of pepper - it's not an awful substitute for cheese on toast and under 200kcal

20 seconds, 29 is very specific

@bringonthebermonthsI’m like that with my children too, they’re both like mountain goats!

I’ve only just completed my 10,000 on the treadmill but have played badminton and had a pretty healthy food day.

It was my last INSET day today so tomorrow it should be easier to get my steps.

ThatAgileMintBiscuit · 02/09/2025 22:07

Hi, hope it’s ok if I join too 😊

I’m 36, 5ft 1 and currently 10st 13. Ideally I’d love to get down to 9st by the end of November (getting married then so extra motivation!). Probably unrealistic but hey ho.

Only booked the wedding last week so need to stay focused.

bringonthebermonths · 03/09/2025 17:59

I had a home made "healthy" (according to recepie!) chicken tikka tonight, and had half the amount of rice I would have normally so that came to under 500kcal for dinner, yoghurt with ground almonds for dessert. I've managed to keep under 1300 each of the 3 days and do think I look a bit less bloated, though maybe that's misplaced optimism!

Congratulations @ThatAgileMintBiscuit on booking your wedding.

LuvCoffee · 03/09/2025 18:02

I would love to join!! 5 foot 2 137 pounds (before yesterday blow out) and goal is to be 125 or as near as possible!

Currently doing 7 day fast to break my sugar addiction. On hour 15 of 7 days. Plenty of time to fail ha

bringonthebermonths · 03/09/2025 18:07

Ooooh, yes congrats @ThatAgileMintBiscuit!! How exciting!

@LuvCoffeethat sounds brutal! Have you done it before? Do you do it under medical guidance? I would absolutely fail early on

Done it loads of times!

Dr approval only needs longer than 7 days or if certain conditions exist, which I don't have, so good to go.

I've already almost caved, though!!!! Sugar is mean 😭

amibeth1 · 03/09/2025 22:13

@LuvCoffee I don’t think I’d be able to manage that at all and am impressed that you can.

10,000 steps completed before 5pm today thanks to being with the new Reception children on their first morning at school today. No other forms of exercise but that’s ok and plenty of fruit and veg.

amibeth1 · 04/09/2025 21:58

Happy with today’s progress - 11,000+ steps, mainly healthy food (Pom bears may have been in my lunchbox today) and out in the fresh air watching my eldest playing football. Aim for the next few days is to remember to drink more water. Normally I’m good at this but it seems to have gone out the window this week.

bringonthebermonths · 05/09/2025 19:32

Bit of a less successful one today! Wasn't anticipating DH wanting a Chinese for dinner so treated myself to scrambled eggs on toast for lunch with the intention of having a small dinner. Obviously I have no willpower so joined DH.... BUT I am still under my TDEE so not going to beat myself up too much!

OP posts:
amibeth1 · 05/09/2025 21:25

@bringonthebermonthsI wouldn’t have been able to say no to a take away too!

Did a kettlebells class this morning and I was pleasantly surprised I survived! Also got out on two walks so managed 15,00+ steps. However I did bake apple cupcakes with my youngest son this evening.

bringonthebermonths · 05/09/2025 21:35

@amibeth1but did you lick the bowl? Otherwise I'm pretty sure it's counted as healthy once cooked - don't calories in cupcakes burn off in cooking? 🫢

OP posts:
amibeth1 · 05/09/2025 21:53

@bringonthebermonths I most certainly did lick the bowl!

amibeth1 · 06/09/2025 22:12

Just managed to get my 10,000 steps but we were at my nephew’s birthday party so not the best day food wise.

bringonthebermonths · 07/09/2025 10:27

147.4lbs this morning, down 3.6lbs, I'll take that! Visually I feel less bloated, I think the main difference is not snacking between meals/snacking mindfully.

Today's likely to be a naughty one as it's my sister's birthday and we're also going for dinner - I figure if I'm good during the work week, I don't need to be too strict at the weekend as long as I don't completely sabotage things!

OP posts:
amibeth1 · 07/09/2025 17:39

@bringonthebermonths well done on being down this week.

amibeth1 · 08/09/2025 21:50

Managed to get over 10,000 steps the last two days and 0.5kg down - it’s a start!
