what do you eat on the other 9 days? I'm amazed you can get out of bed and walk on that little food!

avenanap · 13/05/2008 19:26

You're not eating enough so your body's on starvation mode. You must be feeling like shit. If you don't eat enough your body compensates by burning off less because it's designed to protect what weight you have. IMO you are not eating enough, one small meal a day is not enough. Small meals but regularly works better. Honest!

dividedself · 13/05/2008 19:29

I have 2 coffees and then water the 9 days. On my eating day I have half a pitta bread with some dip. And then fish with nothing else,or just the pitta bread.

I feel great, just more tired than usual come the evening but I must have slowed my metabolism right down I guess. I could cope with eating a really small amount each day if that is what it would take.

You are not eating enough, so anything you do eat your body will store as fat as it wont know when its gonna get fed next, you are doing far more damage than good, please get a proper meal planner.

mybrainaches · 13/05/2008 19:31

you have to eat a minimum of 3 regular meals a day.

foxinsocks · 13/05/2008 19:31

omg. you sound like something from the bible trying to last on water! Surely weight loss isn't worth this much pain?

You must start eating again. Your body can't be getting all the nutrients it needs.

Start eating again and work in some regular exercise.

beansprout · 13/05/2008 19:32

Your body is in starvation mode and you are going to do yourself some damage. This is not a normal diet, this is an eating disorder. Can you talk to someone about this?

nickytwotimes · 13/05/2008 19:32

divided, do you actually need to lose weight?

dividedself · 13/05/2008 19:34

I really really couldn't face that much food. This started with stress I try and eat and then I just feel so sick I can't do it. The only upside is the weightloss so I want to try and reach my goal weight while I feel like this - it is the only positive thing each day for me when I weigh myself.

avenanap · 13/05/2008 19:35

Shit, where did you get this diet from? It's a health hazard and you are damaging your body (sorry to be so blunt).

Three meals a day, small portions (not kiddy size), fruit and nut snacks in between.

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs and wholewheat toast, yogurt, fruit juice.

Lunch: Tuna salad

Supper: Grilled meat/fish with steamed vegies/rice.

Kill the coffee, it's fake energy from the caffine. You're starving yourself, no wonder your body's trying to save energy. This isn't how to diet sweetie, you're making yourself ill. You might not feel it now but you will. Please stop. You should see your GP. I hate to be so blunt, I had a friend who used to diet like this, until she collapsed.

mybrainaches · 13/05/2008 19:35

By my calculations you have eaten less in 6 weeks than the average erson eats in 2 days, seriously you will cause yourself all kinds of health problems, I think you need to speak to someone for help.

dividedself · 13/05/2008 19:35

I am 5'2 and am 8st 13lbs. Have finally got down from size 14 to size 10 bottom and 8 top. Ialways used to be size 6-8 pre-children so I don't have a goal that is 'unrealistic'iyswim.

OP posts:
nickytwotimes · 13/05/2008 19:36

divided, I ate more than you before I was hospitalised for anorexia! You are putting your health at SERIOUS risk.

BecauseImWorthIt · 13/05/2008 19:38

You do know that this a problem, don't you?

You are well within the ideal weight for someone of your height, so in any case whatever plan you follow, any more weight will come off slowly.

But you obviously have a problem that you need to get sorted out.

Please go and see your GP.

WanderingTrolley · 13/05/2008 19:39

Your pre-children size is unrealistic post-children, imo.

You are screwing up your metabolism - I think your body is telling you you are thin enough. Stop now and start eating sensibly before you have a full blown eating disorder.

Sorry, that's harsh I know.

avenanap · 13/05/2008 19:39

Your body changes as it gets older. i used to be the same size as you, I'm also 5'2 and am just under 9 stone. I eat healthily, three meals a day. Honey, this is verging on anorexia. Seriously, you need to see your GP and get some help. We are both never goint to be a size 6 stick insect. We are the way mother nature intended. You are going to be very ill, where will your children be then?

nickytwotimes · 13/05/2008 19:39

You sound like you are a healthy enough weight. We were all skinnier before the kids arrived!

dividedself · 13/05/2008 19:39

Okay,I know it's not that clever but it is making me feel kind of 'high' to finally be losing weight which is why I'm so annoyed I've stopped. I've been 8st 13lbs for the last 3 days.

If I felt ill I'd obviously do something a little more proactive but all the parents I talk to keep saying how well I look at the moment which is just validation for carrying on.

beansprout · 13/05/2008 19:40

What are your kids supposed to make of the fact that mummy doesn't eat?

Saturn74 · 13/05/2008 19:40

DS, you need to talk to a qualified health professional about this, before you become seriously ill.

avenanap · 13/05/2008 19:41

"you look well" is play ground talk for "you look ill" no ones going to say to you that you look sick are they? Ignore them, you're making yourself ill.

WanderingTrolley · 13/05/2008 19:43

I think you're hearing what you want to hear.

See your GP and tell him/her what you've told us. See if s/he tells you you're well.

nickytwotimes · 13/05/2008 19:43

agree with avenanap. I was told by some people I looked well when my BMI was dangerously low.

beansprout · 13/05/2008 19:44

Good point from the Trolley. Go and have this discussion with your GP. And please take their advice!

mybrainaches · 13/05/2008 19:44

So you weigh yourself every or most days? I have to agree this looks like its developing into something serious, see someone and put a stop to it now, because if you sink any further it could be years before you recover......what a waste
