@thenewaveragebear1983 I replied to you last night and then lost it somehow. I hope you are feeling much better this morning.
its not so much a rescue dog thing, as a greyhound rescue thing. Most have massively high prey drives, they are very strong and stubborn. My other greyhound rescue is a dream, she has no prey drive which is quite rare. I’m a very experienced dog owner, she is my 17th dog.
i asked them to check prey drive at the rescue and they thought she was ok but she’s not. She’s had 107 races and won many and she’s only 3 so once we found that out we knew we were in trouble.
shes an amazing dog at home (except for the cushions yesterday), she doesn’t chew her toys. The cushions were furry, that’s the clue. We’ve had to completely change our walks and after over two decades of walking around our wildlife lakes, feeding ducks etc, sadly we can no longer do that.
we can’t walk with our professional dog walker friends any more either. They have small dogs and mine may just want to play but because she’s young, strong and bouncy they could be at risk.
@ToutesetBonne thank you for the advice but at our rescue there is no help. Greyhounds are difficult dogs but we’ve always known that. They would take her back since really she was mis-sold but I’d never give up on her.
luckily I didn’t drive head first into a chocolate bar yesterday.
