An accountability thread for myself (and absolutely anybody else interested) to drop a dress size or two within the coming months to get back in my lovely dresses. Had a stressful year of all sorts going on hence some weight gain but I'm now ready to shift it.

Starting Janruary 1st instead of now just means there will be even more to lose.. so starting today I'm counting calories and looking at some exercises on YouTube. I've dug out my workout clothes and ordered some new sports bras.

Perhaps with Christmas, New years etc I won't actually lose a pound but that's okay - maintaining I'm more than happy with as long as I don't put anymore on.

I don't like to use scales to weigh myself but I will be judging by how clothes are fitting. I have a midi skirt I'd love to wear for my friends birthday at the end of January but its far too tight so this will be my first goal.

Anyone care to join?

I'll join you @igotbills I've a bit to lose to get to a healthy weight and I've hit a point where I am just fed up of my own nonsense - I know what I have to do and I just want to get on with it now.

I like the idea of using clothes as a marker. I bought a lovely new pair of jeans, in what I thought were my size, but they barely close, so they will be my first goal 💪

igotbills · 09/12/2024 09:41

"hendownthelane" great!
Off for some shopping today and also noticed my 'good' coat is very snug so that's another milestone to reach

Had a sensible breakfast and already 1 litre of water so far. I'll not be back until tea time so will fast for the next 6ish hours

I'd love to join but I'm finding it hard to stick to a diet in this cold

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/12/2024 17:13

I'll join you, I've had a full week of multiple Christmas socials and I daren't even weigh myself, but I have decided I'm now 'on it' until school and work finishes on 20th, otherwise I'll have absolutely loads to shift in Jan. the cold doesn't help and neither does this wretched headcold that just will not shift, I have zero motivation and spent the afternoon snuggled up on the sofa with the dog. But my food has been good today and under my calorie goal.

igotbills · 09/12/2024 17:45

It's always hard when you're under the weather and just want some food comforts!

I've just booked myself onto a beginner's barre fitness course in January for an extra boost

I would love to join you. Would like to lose 10 pounds or more likely a stone with Christmas coming. I am determined to be sensible and enjoy events and not worry about weight but not go full on with chocolates and snacking and keep up some walking. Last year we had a family wedding on the 28th December and I had a lovely but unforgiving dress to wear, it showed me that I could have a lovely time without endless eating. If I can get through Christmas without adding to the scales I will be happy!

Slightlyconfusedowl · 09/12/2024 21:38

I’d love to join in if that’s ok? Getting ahead of New Year’s resolutions by starting in December is a great idea 😃Had a couple of very stressful work years which have helped me gain a couple of stone which I’m struggling to shift, it’s definitely got harder with age😔Finally starting a new job in January and determined to get into better habits now as I will be working part of the time from home (very near the fridge) Just trying to get a consistent calorie deficit. Have cut alcohol right back last couple of weeks, aiming for a couple of drinks max on only one day per week up til Xmas and after new year; walking for 30 mins or going to the gym every day. The next and most difficult thing I now need to tackle is no snacks or sweets/ chocolate, I can’t just have some, it always leads to more, so posting for some accountability would be great

DivaRainbow · 10/12/2024 11:30

Hi, can I join as well?

Had that realisation this week of just how much weight I have gained this year and have been feeling so down.

I'm not good at calorie counting, but I'm trying my best to be mindful and not graze, as I tend to do this a lot, especially when cooking for the kids.

Inmydreams88 · 10/12/2024 11:55

I'm joining! I need to lose my baby weight. My baby is one in January and I'm ashamed I still haven't managed to get back to my pre baby weight.

I've got 2 stone to lose.

I'm hoping I can lose a pound or two before Christmas and then maintain that until January.

igotbills · 10/12/2024 15:45

Welcome everyone! How have you done today?
I had a cooked breakfast around 400kcal, a few chocolate coins probably around 200kcal and have made shepards pie for dinner - no idea how many kcal but I'll have a sensible portion

About a month ago I started paying more attention to my nails so will be re applying some polish tonight ☺️

Hi all can I join to please . I joined nutracheck a few days ago again and so far only manage to record breakfast . I was hoping for some support in the forums but it’s not happening.

i had about 3 stone to lose again . I put it all on in the last year as my husband was ill and I ate my feelings . I feel like crap now and my clothes are tight

oh I dabbled in intuitive eating also over the last couple of years and I got heavier from that too .

@Inmydreams88 enjoy the baby’s first Christmas and don’t feel ashamed .

SaggyOldClothDog · 10/12/2024 20:56

Count me in. I feel like i'm ballooning and would like to shift a couple of kilos before i'm forced to buy a whole new wardrobe.

I'm generally pretty good at exercising but I'm even better at eating. 🤦

Could really use the accountability....

Slightlyconfusedowl · 10/12/2024 21:39

Hello! That sounds like a good day @igotbills I had a good day too- exercise done, came in on calories, resisted chocolate and an urge to ‘fix’ some family stress with a drink (frankly mostly because I didn’t want to have to post here that I’d given in) 😇Now just got to get awkward teen to bed in time so I can get a good nights sleep. Good luck for tomorrow everyone.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/12/2024 22:20

I've had a ridiculous day today, we had a box of brownies delivered at the office and I ate 2, and 2 mince pies 🤦‍♀️ in addition to my meals. And I've done zero exercise today, and very little all week. I just cannot shift this lingering cold, I feel so washed out and exhausted. Back on the healthy stuff tomorrow and will take my vitamins to try to pep me up. I have bootcamp and runclub tomorrow night, plus will walk the dog in the morning.

Slightlyconfusedowl · 11/12/2024 07:07

Better luck for today @thenewaveragebear1983 work snacks are so challenging this time of year, hope you are feeling better soon

Inmydreams88 · 11/12/2024 12:11

I will thank you @Trialnerror, I hope your husband is well now.

@thenewaveragebear1983 Treats at work are so difficult to refuse, especially this time of year!

Breakfast today was two Weetabix with bannna almond milk and a latte.

I just made a low carb lunch, two heck chicken sausages (the lidl version and they were delicious! less than 60 cals a sausage) in an egg 'wrap' (just two eggs, splash of milk, salt and pepper) with some ketchup.

I'm off to see Wicked so I made myself a snack box of melon, strawberries and an orange so I'm not tempted by anything else.

Trialnerror · 11/12/2024 15:37

Enjoy wicked and that's a nice snack box

I bought a little box of ready made melon today and I'm having a late lunch of homemade lasagne from Monday . It's pretty healthy as I make from scratch

I have to bake now for a fundraiser so determined not to eat anything 😞

My husband is improving sorry I forgot to mention in last post

So I have just had a trying on session of clothes as I need something to wear to work tomorrow that's casual . Looks like I will be going in my work clothes with tinsel in my hair as nothing fits . Thank god I started this now and not jan 2

DivaRainbow · 11/12/2024 21:26

I'm counting today as day 1! I did a 40-minute walk. I had toast and boiled eggs for lunch, and I made a chicken and broccoli bake for dinner. And just sat down with a cup of tea and small packet of cookies ( says the whole packet is 70cals)

As I have previously said, I'm not good at calorie counting, so I'm trying intermittent fasting and being mindful.

I weighed myself, and I have gained 12 kg this year.

How did everyone else get on today?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/12/2024 21:51

I had about 1700 calories today, which isn't too bad really. I went to run club and ran 10km. I think at this time of year it's unrealistic to try to lose anything significant, but maintaining or hopefully a small loss would be great. The cold is making me eat loads as well. I'm going to really try not to drink this weekend, I could do with some recent sleep and a chance to catch up on life before breaking up for Christmas!

Slightlyconfusedowl · 11/12/2024 22:12

Wow 10K in this unappealing weather @thenewaveragebear1983 that’s awesome. Just a steady but sensible day for me today, came in on calories, went to circuits, no snacks. Happy with that. To be honest @DivaRainbow I’ve gained similar I think this year and I’m refusing to weigh myself until my clothes get looser as I didn’t like what I saw last time and it was very demotivating.

Trialnerror · 12/12/2024 19:19

How is it going for everyone . Just had a sugar free day again . Might have my little freddo later . See how I feel .

I notice I don't feel as bloated already and I'm not swallowing rennies !

Had a ham and coleslaw wholemeal sandwich for lunch and a baked spud with ham cheese and beans for dinner . Ate it slowly and enjoyed it . Avoided all work sweets and mince pies . So much stuff about

I would be delighted if I can get into my many pairs of jeans in about 6 weeks time to start with .

igotbills · 13/12/2024 12:30

Wednesday evening was a bit of a write off (christmas party with a free bar)
But was a lovely night so no regrets

Today I'm doing homemade chicken skewers loaded with vegetables to get back on track

Trialnerror · 13/12/2024 17:00

@igotbills that's good you enjoyed party . Mine is next week .

An ok day today but not thought about dinner yet . Have some burgers to be used by today so guess it will be that .

Did a long walk with the dog and I was starving after so made a huge smoothie .

One thing I notice at the moment is I am feeling proper hunger which I don't think I felt in a long time

DivaRainbow · 13/12/2024 17:25

Hi, how's everyone getting on?

I'm about to start one of three nightshifts where I notice my eating patterns really mess up. I struggle not to snack throughout my shift, but I packed a Curly Wurly as it's only 90 calories.

Today, so far, I have done okay. I had a low-calorie bagel with two boiled eggs for lunch, along with a low-calorie caramel latte.

Then some Pringles that my son was snacking on.

Dinner was beef, vegetables, and a small amount of mash.

I also did a Grow with Jo workout.
