November: Nice, easy four pounds

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 02/11/2024 10:46

Not sure how to link to the September and October threads and couldn’t see a November one.

A few of us found the four pound goal much more manageable (although I failed badly due to a holiday in October!).

We all had different ways to reach our goal and different end goals.

Ooo can I join you?
Am doing the low carb boot camp.
And I've started weights.
Peri menopausal
Need to lose at least 3 stone.
But definitely need to take it one step at a time!

Are you sharing what you've eaten?
Or just weighing in?

rushka · 02/11/2024 17:53

Can I join please?! 4lbs seems a great plan. I'd love to be motivated with others - and to go for something realistic!

PoliteEagle · 02/11/2024 18:51

Keen to join as well. I am doing calorie counting (1300 per day) and gym 2-3 times per week. Need to loose around a stone in total

2Early4Breakfast · 02/11/2024 18:52

October did not go well in the healthy eating front. Too much stress, too many biscuits. If I lose four pounds this month, and keep going to the end of the year, I’ll be down half a stone, and back into my too-tight clothes.

Mostly trying to keep away from baked goods, sugar, and sweeteners.

Champagnecharleyismyname · 02/11/2024 20:00

Can I join? Just got back from holiday and gained 3lbs.

I need to lose 2 stone. 4lbs in November would be a good start.

I'm going to try to stick to 1200 calories a day.

GrannyClanger · 02/11/2024 22:28

@Dolliesdisasterousdayout thanks for starting the new thread! I’m only 1lb off my goal weight now, but I just can’t seem to get there! Also had the biggest piece of cake today so if I’ve maintained this week it will be a bonus! Welcome to everyone joining 😁

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 03/11/2024 10:42

Yay, people! Welcome all. Hopefully November is our month!

@NoCarbsForMe I loved the low carb boot camp, maybe I should try that again. Share whatever works for you. I personally won’t post what I’ve eaten but will record any gains or losses.

Before my holiday I was doing OMAD which was extreme but I managed to lose half a stone quickly. I’m now IM 18:6 which feels healthier.

I do a couple of gym classes a week, walk a lot and three to four workouts at home with a personal trainer. I was a real gym bunny but got out of the habit.

My starting weight for November is 124.5lb (I’m very short) so 4lb would be good.
As the first was a Friday I’ll probably weigh on Fridays.

@GrannyClanger well done for getting down to that one pound to go! You deserve cake 😂

NoCarbsForMe · 03/11/2024 13:22

@GrannyClanger would LOVE to be 1lb off my goal weight. That's amazing well done 👏

Azaleahead · 03/11/2024 21:39

I don’t even know what my target weight is - it used to be 10stone but I honestly think I’d look a bit haggard at that now I’m older and wrinklier. But 4lbs off my current 10:11.5 in November sounds like a good challenge!
I have a teen DD and don’t want to pass on any body hang-ups to her, so I’m aiming just to cut out snacks, adjust portion sizes a bit and run a few times a week. I’m already fairly active so that may not be enough to move the dial, but I’ll see how I get on…

MinnieMountain · 04/11/2024 06:41

Can I join? I’m 9st 11lb and struggling to shift the final bit. Peri-menopause makes it harder.

I’m going to try low carb and 16:8 fasting. Could do with some more focused exercise other than “I walk/cycle everywhere so it’s fine” and the occasional swim.

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 04/11/2024 08:04

Everyone is welcome!

Yesterday was a bad day for me! I really need to get my bum in gear again.

MinnieMountain · 04/11/2024 09:06

DS’s birthday yesterday didn’t help 🙄 Seems like I need to learn some will power too.

GrannyClanger · 04/11/2024 10:15

There is a lot of cake in the office this morning, so I’m trying to avoid that! Determined to stay away from the sugary snacks this week. Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 04/11/2024 20:15

My office is awful for snacks! Luckily I was in back to back meetings all day and took a salad for my desk.
I have a few nights away next week for work but checked out menus already and think that I can make some good choices. I’ll work out in my hotel and maybe brave walks in the local area before breakfast but I have an awful sense of direction and a fear of getting lost.

OP posts:
Swearwolf · 05/11/2024 06:15

Ooh I found you! I don't think I did the 4lb last month but I did enjoy the thread.

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 05/11/2024 07:04

Sorry @Swearwolf , wasn’t sure who was left! I didn’t either but not to worry, we can do this!

I’m just waiting for a bit more light so that I can get a quick walk in this morning before work and then I’ve got two classes after work.

BigDahliaFan · 05/11/2024 08:00

I, playing the long game. Lost a stone and a half last year but have to lose another stone (high blood pressure GP advice). 56.

I'm doing weights classes but slipped a bit so back to 3x a week. More walking too.

I've been making a conscious effort to cook properly and avoid sugar....but salty snacks are my downfall.

Even a couple of pounds down would be good!

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 08/11/2024 20:21

@BigDahliaFan I’m a savoury person too!

How’s everyone getting on?

Today’s weigh in day for me and I’m down 2.5lb which I’m shocked at. Nice surprise!

My goal for next week is to up my steps which I’ve failed miserably on this week.

OP posts:
PoliteEagle · 08/11/2024 20:55

i am down 2 lbs since beginning of the month. The problem is that I have lots work social approaching this month, so it would be a struggle as food normally is not really healthy there like pizza etc plus alcohol, while I tend to go for a wine but still

GrannyClanger · 08/11/2024 21:31

Great losses well done @Dolliesdisasterousdayout and @PoliteEagle!!

I’m exactly the same weight - and I’ve been so good this week! Haven’t had any snacks and been averaging 1200 calories per day. I’m still hoping for a loss by Sunday.

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 09/11/2024 00:27

@GrannyClanger early days!
@PoliteEagle I know what you mean! I’ve got a few things coming up next week which I think might be a challenge.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 09/11/2024 07:06

Also 2lb off!

Socialising is tricky. Do I just nibble the bare minimum?

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 09/11/2024 08:33

Well done @MinnieMountain

I’m doing IF so just planning to make sure that any social snacks fit in my window.
