October: Nice, easy four pounds

Following on from the September thread, who's up for another four pounds in October?

We'll support each other to drop a pound a week, however works best for you.

If you manage more than a pound, brilliant.

If not, no matter. The aim is to support each other, take control and take positive steps.

Weigh-in every Tuesday.

Who's in?

I’m in!

Great to see this, I loved the September one.

4lb seems more achievable than just losing weight in general!

I’m continuing with OMAD with a couple of 36 hour fasts before my holiday as it seems to be working so far and hasn’t been too awful. I had maybe two off days in September where I had too much wine, some pizza! But it’s all balance 😂

I will have a week off half way through as I’m going away and determined to enjoy the food and drink! I expect I’ll need this group when I get back 😂

September starting weight 119.

edited to say that I name changed from dollie something.

Can I join?! I turn 40 at the end of the month so it feels like a good time to try and shift a little... I find it SO hard to lose anything - I'm 8 st 10 lb but barely 5ft 1. Don't like calorie counting so my tactic is to just stay out of the kitchen as much as possible.

Magnolia82 · 01/10/2024 15:14

I'm in again, please!

I didn't lose anything in Sept (actually a pound heavier this morning). I've got no idea why.

I'm 5ft2 and only have a few pounds to lose (currently 8st5 but feel/look better under 8st as have a very small frame). It's really frustrating as I'm eating well (tracking calories on Nutracheck), walk 15,000-20,000 steps a day and do a Caroline Girvan weights or a Pilates workout at home every day.

But keen to be part of this group again and to try to work out where I'm going wrong. Any tips or advice welcome!

I'm in. Just weighed myself and I'm 8st 10lb (I'm 5 foot) which I'm happy about as I started at 9 stone. Aiming for 8 stone 6lbs by end of October but I am mindful that I have quite a lot of celebrations in October so I might not manage it!

I am happy that when I saw the scales get to 9 stone, I thought I'd never see 8 st 10lb but it hasnt been too difficult so I feel I can carry on, even if I do have blip days. I do need to up my exercise though, struggling with motivation for that especially now the weather is rubbish!

Swearwolf · 02/10/2024 07:14

Can I join? Weighed in this morning at 64.1kg/10st 1.5, down from 65kg a couple of weeks ago. I'm only 5'2" so still at an overweight BMI.

I'd love to get below 10 stone in the next couple of weeks, 9 stone 12 by the end of the month seems really reasonable.

I've lost half a stone this year, which doesn't seem a lot but it hasn't been linear. I've had stretches where I've done well and periods where I've fallen massively into bad habits.

What works for me is regular exercise and no/little alcohol. When I do that, my eating habits naturally clean up a little and I end up snacking less. I'd like to go sober for October and see if I can get my weight down a bit more!

Swearwolf · 02/10/2024 09:13

I've worked out that I'm losing on average 0.4kg per week, or 0.8lb. If I can do that every week this month, by the 30th I'll be 62.5kg or 9 stone 10. That used to be my upper weight limit, pre-kids, and I haven't been that light since my youngest was born 9 years ago. It's so close I can almost see it!

ilovetea14 · 02/10/2024 10:29

Can I join please. I started my weight loss in Jan 2022 starting weight was 11st 11Ib

I got down to 9st 5Ib I'm currently 10st 1Ib I've lost 3Ib last week. I weigh on Fridays. I'm 5ft 4 would love to get to 9st but I will take 9st 5Ib.

I exercise 4 times a week either a walk, weights or skipping.

Welcome to the re-joiners and the newcomers!

I hope everyone' started the month well. I'm off to a bootcamp class tonight 😬
I always have a micro-meal after a gym class which is terrible because of how processed it is. It's just absolute junk.
But I can't resist - I think its the balance of salt and sugar that just hits the spot after a good workout. And it's only about 450 calories. So, fine, right!? Right?!

Whatever works for you. If the pounds are dropping that's what matters

sinesperanza · 02/10/2024 18:18

I'm in, I'm just at the cusp of tipping into overweight bmi so would like to get back down to the middle of normal bmi. Also, none of my clothes fit and can't afford replacements...

I'm shortish, starting weight: 67.9kg

AutumnalCosiness · 02/10/2024 21:08

I am in! Just feeling huge. A lb a week sounds manageable 🤞

GrannyClanger · 02/10/2024 22:26

I’ll join too! I’m 5’3 and currently 61kg, have lost 5kg since mid August. Would love to get to 60, or see if I can do any more! I’m calorie tracking on MFP and running, trying to cut out the carbs. Now it’s soup season that should help too.

Swearwolf · 03/10/2024 06:03

I'm on the soup too @GrannyClanger! I had too much cauliflower this week so I made a big batch with some sweet potato. I did put cheese in so not the healthiest but it was so filling I didn't want to be snacking all afternoon.

ArcticBells · 03/10/2024 06:13

I'm just trying to lose the spare tyre around my tummy so that waistbands fit again . 5'5" and was 10.6, now 9.12. It's hard to shift. I don't want to look like a robin with a big belly and stick legs!

That sounds good! I’ve made spiced parsnip this week, also love pumpkin/butternut squash! Porridge in the morning really fills me up too and stops the snacking.

brimfulofpacha · 07/10/2024 09:36

I'm in again! Currently recovering from a bad bout of covid so done nothing exercise-wise as I can barely even manage the 10 minute walk to school! The plus side is that I can't be bothered eating and have no taste, so I'm not snacking at all, sweet stuff doesn't interest me, and I'm unintentionally doing OMAD purely because I'm too tired to care about eating. Not the healthiest way to lose but I'll get back on track once I'm out of the fog.

SW - 12st.

I had an event yesterday I got so many compliments!!!

Putonyourredshoesanddancetheblues · 07/10/2024 13:49

@Accbabymom1994 great motivation!

Putonyourredshoesanddancetheblues · 08/10/2024 07:20

I’m up a pound!
Started October at 119 now 120.

Swearwolf · 08/10/2024 09:17

@Putonyourredshoesanddancetheblues it happens! I've been tracking all year and it's a very jagged line but overall is trending downwards. Keep going!

sinesperanza · 08/10/2024 09:48

Somehow I'm down 1.4kg, can only assume it's water weight. Hopefully it'll keep going

Putonyourredshoesanddancetheblues · 08/10/2024 11:38

@Swearwolf (fab name) very true, thank you. I’ve just got my period so it makes sense.

Accbabymom1994 · 08/10/2024 12:35

I'm up two pounds after having two days off I'm trying to be patient and positive, have started since yesterday again so hopefully numbers will come down
