Hi, i also did LL a year ago and lost 2 stone. Although i have managed to keep it off with slimming world i have beem tempted to havea go at the cambridge diet for a quick and easy way to loose weight before my holiday.
Can you tell me a little about it? Is its the same sort of thing to LL?

hertsnessex · 03/04/2008 14:24

uts the same as LL, but cheaper and without the 2hr counselling session. which i always hated. my aim is to do cd until at goal then do WW to control and maintain.

justhavingamoan · 03/04/2008 14:25

herts said it! i am also going to do WW after.

Good luck to you!
I lost over 3 1/2 stones on Cambridge. have put about half a stone back on since finishing it but I am maintaining well.
I am now a Cambridge Diet Counsellor

Hey I am finishing CD this week. Have been on it for 12 weeks and have lost 34lbs and am 10lbs from target. I love the diet itself, but am finding it too expensive now, so am gradually switching over to WW this week and will do this to continue lose and then maintain. I am the smallest I have been for approximately 8 years and I feel fantastic!

Kepp it up - you will get there!

justhavingamoan · 08/04/2008 07:39

Well done, ladies

silver73 · 08/04/2008 11:29

I have just started the diet. I am on day 1 so fingers crossed.

I'd like to lose about three stone. I was hoping to do this in three months. Does anyone know if this is possible?

readyfornum2 · 08/04/2008 11:50

Hi Ladies x
I am on week 7 of cambridge and have lost 34lbs so far
Its a great diet and I find it really easy to follow because there are no choices involved.
Well done on the losses and heres to us being slim for summer x

justhavingamoan · 08/04/2008 12:23

silver73, 3 stone is perfectly attainable.

hope everyone is going well.

i had a strawberry shake this morning and not even 1min later threw it all back up. starting to wonder if this is worth it.

Readyfornum - that is a fantastic weightloss for 7 weeks you must be thrilled. That has given me hope for 12 weeks time. As a matter of interest how much did you lose in the first week? How much are you losing per week roughly? Did it take long for people to notice?

Justhavingamoan - I am so sorry to hear about that. I don't think I could stomach strawberry milkshakes at the best of times. Are there any other flavours that you have been ok with? I am a really fussy eater (wonder how I have put on so much weight!!!) and therefore will be living on choc mint, choc tetra and thai chilli soup.

readyfornum2 · 09/04/2008 08:48

Hi silver my losses have been
Week 1: 8lbs (totm)
Week 2 : 7lbs
Week 3: 4lbs
Week 4: 6.5lbs
Week 5: 3.5lbs (totm)
Week 6: 5lbs
and I am nearly half way through week 7 x
I know some people who have lost 15lbs in the first week!!

My tastes are changing now and I am living on choc mint choc orange and tetras with 3 bars a week (the peanut crunch is lovely and I also like the choc orange and caramel)
People are really starting to notice now and I have gone from a 24 to an 18
This is the best diet ever!!

silver73 · 09/04/2008 10:17

Thanks very much for the breakdown. You must be so happy with you losses. I started yesterday and it was not too bad. I have weighed myself today - lost 2 lbs. I have just finished totm so hoping I may be one of those 15lbs first week ladies but I'd be ecstatic with 10!

I want to lose 3 stone on the Cambridge diet and then lose the last stone on WW or SW.

chocolatespiders · 09/04/2008 12:35

well done all

i really must get myself into gear and start this diet....

how much did you all start at... i am 16 stone....

Squiffy · 09/04/2008 13:42

I started at 15 stone and lost 11 lb in first week and 21 lb in first three weeks. But then I had a week where I plateaued which depressed me a bit and then we hit Easter, so I haven't been on it for a couple of weeks now. This week I am easing myself back into it - having 3 CD during day and normal meal in the evening - will switch that into my 4th CD in a couple of days hopefully. I have another 20 lb to go to get to a BMI of 25, and then another 20 to end up with a BMI of 22 which is my ultimate goal.

I have found that all the soups taste much nicer if you mix them to a paste first, and I don't bother whisking now. Have also given up on the powder shakes but like the chocolate brick shakes....

chocolatespiders · 09/04/2008 14:32

wow well done squiffy.....

is it now 4 packs not 3? i saw someone else mention 4 packs...

Squiffy · 09/04/2008 14:33

4 packs if you are over 5 ft 8, otherwsie 3.

Monkeybird · 09/04/2008 14:34

I have lots of stones to lose (at least 3 pref 4) but am sceptical of this kind of diet - gets you into bad habits surely? Don't you just put it all back on again when you eat normally? Sell it to me...?

readyfornum2 · 09/04/2008 19:22

You will only put it back on if you go back to your old ways
First you do the diet and then stabilisation and maintenece which teaches you about portion control so that you dont slip back , of course once you hit goal you are going to have times when you over indulge but its being good the rest of the time that keeps you at goal x

I started at 17 1/2 stone but as of this morning I have crept into the 14s so I am really happy!

This is the only diet that works for me and I have no intention of cheating until my birthday in june
