Determined to lose 1.5 stone by July!

Getfits · 04/05/2024 18:23

Enough is enough..I need to lose 1.5 stone and to keep it off! My goal is to look and feel better, and to be fitter too.

So I’m only 5ft 2 and have been 9 stone for most of my adult life but after constant takeaways, home baking, lack of sleep and inactivity during lockdown, my weight crept up close to 13 stone / 83kg by the summer of 2021 and my body fat percentage was close to 40% which put me in the obese category.

I managed to lose a fair bit of weight using various methods (SW, 1:1, running,
walking, calorie counting, IF) and I was down to 11 stone /70Kg by late 2023. But over the last year it’s been hovering around 11 stone with not much change which has been frustrating.

The past month or so my weight’s actually been creeping up, the latest is I’ve just came back from a 2 week holiday and weighed myself - I’m 11 stone 8!

This is the heaviest I’ve been in over a year I think and I could see it in my holiday pics :/

I want to nip this in the bud by actively starting to get my weight down
towards 10 stone instead of continuing to head back in the direction to 13 stone.

I’m going to post at least every Monday setting out my intentions for diet and exercise and posting my weight/measurements update. Anyone in?

Will also be a good space to share fitness videos and simple healthy recipes!

@Picoloangel thank you for the Bircher recipe, I will consider it moving forward

The granola I make is just oats with mixed chopped nuts and walnut halves with coconut oil and honey. It’s really tasty and so much more economical than me buying granola, I’m gluten free so don’t have much choice in which I can buy plus I find it much more expensive than making my own

Hi all. I'm doing well upping my veg and salad. I had boiled eggs mixed in homemade healthy potato salad today. I mixed a little salad cream with yoghurt for the dressing. The gherkins finely chopped helped add flavour.
Tonight ds2 and I are having pizza that's homemade but made in someone's house and they deliver them. Gorgeous. But I'm having half instead of a whole one and putting salad with it. DH is at work. Just have to be strong and not eat it all. I'll have the other half tomorrow. It's vegetarian with pineapple.

jobessieandme · 10/05/2024 18:30

Hello all, sounds like everyone is making good progress!

Ok day here. DC2 has been unwell so I've not managed to get out or do any exercise 🫠

B two hard boiled eggs, coffee with milk
L avocado on toast with marmite
D lamb pilaf made in the slow cooker without oil but with lots of pine nuts
S packet of Skips, fizzy rhubarb water

I'm contemplating a Wispa mousse later although it would take me over my calorie limit. But as a Friday night treat I think it's worth it.

70sShmeventies · 10/05/2024 18:37

It’s weigh in day for me today, 13st! So close to 12 something which psychologically for me is a boost as it’s within my ‘comfortable with my weight’ zone. I’m averaging 3-4lbs a weeks and have lost 11 in 3 weeks. I can’t believe it really!

YouBelongWithMe · 10/05/2024 18:59

Still going...

Breakfast: a weird soaked seed type pudding made with all the leftover fruit. Raspberries at the bottom, some greek yoghurt, I blended up some frozen mango and oat milk and then poured it over flax and linseeds. A questionable kiwi on top. Oat milk latte.

Lunch: salad.

Dinner: cold rice mixed with salmon, chopped cucumber, fresh coriander and chilli flakes.

Taking photos to try and motivate myself.

Will have an ice lolly (or three tonight) . Those fresh orange ones you can only buy from May-Sept in the supermarkets.

5 foot and a bit.
Lost 6lbs and have a stone to go, preferably 1.5 but I want to be realistic.
Start weight 10.6.
Now 9.13.

Counting calories for at least 4 weeks then damage limitation may half term. Hopefully will have healthier habits by then. I was drinking far too much wine.

Loss seems very slow but I'm doing a lot of exercise so am noticing a difference.
Would love my clothes to fit again.

Bumblebee907 · 10/05/2024 19:45

5'4 down from 59kg to 53.5 as of today.

🥳🥳

Pinkvici22 · 11/05/2024 07:04

Morning!
Ive had an early weigh in - done 5 days of being really good, sticking to all my plans.
Been doing 16:8 but it’s been more like 18:6 and by day 3 it felt fine.
I cannot believe it, I’ve lost 6lbs!
SW 11.13
CW 11.7
GW 9.13-10.2
Hope everyone had a lovely sunny weekend!

goingdownfighting · 11/05/2024 09:12

Omg well done @Pinkvici22 @Bumblebee907 @Mynewnameis!

I'm going to weigh in tomorrow although I've only done half a week.

I'm loving all your menus. Great ideas. I've done an online shop so looking forward to lots of goodies.

I mustn't have drunk enough water yesterday or perhaps it was a warm night but woke up a little light headed. So I'm going to take it easy until eating time which is later today as I have an evening meal booked.

Mynewnameis · 11/05/2024 09:58

Well done @Pinkvici22 that's amazing.

Ive been quite good but portions too big I think. Some meals I am estimating calories for and I'm probably serving myself double what I need. Going to try and be better with portions this week and not eat beyond full. I love food so much!

5'4 down from 59kg to 53.5 as of today.

🥳🥳

Well done, almost the same as me. 5'3, was 9st 7 (60kg), now 8st 6 (53.5kg). Aiming for 8 stone (50.8 kg according to Google).

Bumblebee907 · 11/05/2024 11:47

Yes also aiming for 8, but no lower!

YouBelongWithMe · 11/05/2024 11:52

I weighed in today, day 6. Have lost 3lb, very happy with that.

SW: 85.1kg
CW: 83.7kg
GW: 75kg (I think)

Imatorturedpoet · 11/05/2024 12:35

Can I join in? I really need to lose 1.5 to 2 stone, currently 12 stone 11.5 lbs at 5 feet 7. I've started IF last week, managing quite well. I go to yoga once a week and walk quite a bit. I really want to wear my summer clothes with confidence!

ProgressIguess · 12/05/2024 09:14

Happy to weigh in today- I have lost another 0.7llbs this week. I'm really pleased with this as I had to take it easy with the exercise this week. That means I've lost nearly 10llbs in total. Only 3 lbs to go.

SW- 10st 2llbs
CW- 9st 5llbs
GW-9st 2llbs

goingdownfighting · 12/05/2024 09:51

Hi all.

Weigh in today

SW: 147lb
CW 145.8lb
GW 125lb

I'll take it this week.

Getfits · 12/05/2024 10:05

Well done everyone, so lovely to hear so many are losing weight. Some fantastic results 🎉

For anyone who has plateaued or even increased weight while doing all the right things - keep going 🌟

Loving all the meal ideas I’m getting from the thread - keep ‘em coming.

@YouBelongWithMe that food looks very nourishing & tasty!

And as always welcome to all new joiners - our “official” weigh in day is Monday but of course feel free to share any day!

Does anyone have any recommendations for when you plateau? I can't exercise and I'm finding it quite frustrating, although I'm low on cals it's just not shifting.

Well done @Pinkvici22 @ProgressIguess and @YouBelongWithMe great work xx

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 12/05/2024 19:56

Can I join please? Have been off work for approx 6 weeks, depressed on and off over that time and eating bad stuff.

Not properly weighed but over 11 stone at least at 5ft5.

You’d think with the hot weather this’d give me incentives but as long as I still barely still fit (with a squeeze) into stretch denim skirts, trousers and dresses (non stretch) I feel ok lol 😂.

Picoloangel · 12/05/2024 20:48

I weighed myself today and have lost 3.5 pounds since the last time I weighed in a couple of weeks ago.

I’m doing my IF but making sure that I eat enough and am also making time to exercise. Also prioritising water because I know that being dehydrated makes me hungry.

Imatorturedpoet · 12/05/2024 23:06

I don't think I'll have lost this week. Although I've stuck to IF I had a big Sunday dinner today then several shandies in the beer garden and a Chinese 🫣

Getfits · 13/05/2024 06:53

SW : 11 stone 6 / 72.5 kg
CW : 11 stone 4/ 71 kg
July Goal weight : approx 9 stone 12/ 63kg

Current waist size : 32.5 inches
Goal waist size : 29 inches.

I’ve lost 2 pounds this week which I’m happy with as long as it continues like this and I don’t keep losing and gaining the same 2 pound which is what has happened before.

I’m having to limit my movement/exercise so only hitting about 5K steps daily but today
This morning I’m popping into my nearest city by train for a few errands so I’ll probably end on more than 5K steps.

I had some homemade chocolate chip banana bread yesterday - delicious and don’t regret it! But I’ll probably keep it very low calorie today and have soup for lunch & dinner today and a coffee and fruit before I head out.

Focusing on drinking more water this week and keeping busy so I don’t think about food so much. I WFH most days and it’s so easy to spend all my time thinking of the next meal lol

Perzival · 13/05/2024 07:15

Lost 1lb this week which is better than I thought but I've really stuck to my diet. I'm a little disappointed but 1lb off is better than a gain.

Fingers crossed for this week!

qwerty1972 · 13/05/2024 07:22

Week 1 done and I’m very happy to report I’ve lost 4lbs.

6/5 - 10 stone 13lb
13/5 - 10 stone 9lbs

I’m hoping to manage 3lbs off this week coming. Half a stone loss would be a real victory!

Have a good week, everyone!

Onceuponatime46 · 13/05/2024 07:44

Morning. 2lb here since starting last Tuesday. I’ll take that!
really trying to change my mindset for long term health - lots of movements, lower carb/sugar and IF until about midday. Here for the long term gain ;-)

good luck everyone.
