Determined to lose 1.5 stone by July!

Enough is enough..I need to lose 1.5 stone and to keep it off! My goal is to look and feel better, and to be fitter too.

So I’m only 5ft 2 and have been 9 stone for most of my adult life but after constant takeaways, home baking, lack of sleep and inactivity during lockdown, my weight crept up close to 13 stone / 83kg by the summer of 2021 and my body fat percentage was close to 40% which put me in the obese category.

I managed to lose a fair bit of weight using various methods (SW, 1:1, running,
walking, calorie counting, IF) and I was down to 11 stone /70Kg by late 2023. But over the last year it’s been hovering around 11 stone with not much change which has been frustrating.

The past month or so my weight’s actually been creeping up, the latest is I’ve just came back from a 2 week holiday and weighed myself - I’m 11 stone 8!

This is the heaviest I’ve been in over a year I think and I could see it in my holiday pics :/

I want to nip this in the bud by actively starting to get my weight down
towards 10 stone instead of continuing to head back in the direction to 13 stone.

I’m going to post at least every Monday setting out my intentions for diet and exercise and posting my weight/measurements update. Anyone in?

Will also be a good space to share fitness videos and simple healthy recipes!

@Hellohihola I can feel the wheels coming off my wagon too yes today's a fresh day so crack on!

After this weekend I think I'm going to look for some new menu/food items. I'm going to browse Ocado and see what 1200 calories of something different looks like. Any unusual or quirky suggestions welcome. I'm fed up of the same food.

Also, what supplements are you all taking, if any? I have a vitamin D spray but nothing else.

i usually take a standard multi vit but iv ran out and need a new one if anyone can recommend a good one! I’m also taking iron supplements for low ferritin.

Goingdownfighting I take inositol. It is supposed to help with pcos and whether it's all in my head who knows but I've lost my moon face, am hovering around a 2stone loss now and dropped a dress size.
That being said I walk 15k steps a day and eat 18-1900 calories a day but the inositol supposedly helps with my pcos.

@Hellohihola i find lack of prep when I wfh does that to me too.
I do find prep is the key for me or it all goes to pot.
On the menu today’s has been lentil and roasted tomato pasta with some butter beans added.
dinner will be salt and chilli tofu, mushrooms, onion and pepper and may have some crispy kale and spicy broccoli.

Tomorrow I have a sweet potato and quinoa bowl from Lidl for work and dinner will be something with carrot fries as they are my current favourite done with loads of spices - maybe have loaded with some pulled jackfruit (I’ve got a pouch from Morrisons to use up) and jalapeños and other veggies with some vegan cheese melted on top. I’ve also got some homemade slaw to use up.

gonna make curry over the weekend.
I’ve not drunk for a few weeks and that’s helping with the overall motivation and I feel so much better too - I’ll keep it going for another few weeks I think.

Hello everyone, could I join too 🙏🏻? I’m nearly a week into my had enough of being clinically obese weight loss plan and have been finding Mumsnet threads super helpful. I’m 5ft 8 and started at 15 stone 9 😭. Piled on weight (4 stone) over the past 3 years due to high stress which caused comfort eating and heavy drinking. I’ve not been drinking for the past 6 months though that unfortunately hasn’t affected my weight! I’m doing Fast 800 and 16:8 intermittent fasting for 12 weeks, started on Sat 18th May and this morning I was 15”2. I’d ultimately like to be 11”7 and would also be very happy with 1.5 stone loss by July.

@socks1107 thanks for the suggestion. I've looked it up and it looks promising. I also have some centrum multi vits in date so I'll take those.

I need to get back into making my spirulina/manuka/matcha/turmeric shots 🤢

Today has been much better thank goodness.

I've had a couple of days pausing... got my period on Wednesday and ended up eating half the kitchen 🙈 and had a beer with my lunch yesterday too. Haven't dared weigh myself.

Plan for today....
B sweet potato hash brown with a fried egg
L quiche and salad
D probably freezer stew

I couldn’t find this thread after I last posted. Hi everyone!
weight fluctuations are odd aren’t they? I’m weighing daily so seeing them and having to accept plateaus and it sometimes going up. Last week was not good - binges took over due to exhaustion and stress, and I let them. So I went from 11st 11 back to 12st… this week I’ve kept to 1300 calories, mostly veg with small amounts of protein and carbs, and I’m back in the game, down to 11st 8.

I’d guess that a lot of the gain was water but previously I’d have seen the increase and said “fuck it, what’s the point, I’ve failed” this time I saw it as a pause in my journey and got back to it, and it’s paid off! Still a way to go but I’m so so happy to be moving away from that number 12.

sw: 12st 9lbs
cw: 11st 8lbs
Next mini goal: 10st 13lbs (under 11)
gw: 10st 4lbs

my period started today , I get really bloated and terrible cramp so that’s my weekend sorted 😆 I’ll skip the weight update on Monday since I’m always a few pounds heavier on my period, it kind of skews things.

today -

B: oats and banana
L: sweet potato soup
Dinner : air fried chicken breast and rice with veg
snack : popcorn with a drizzle of choc spread

Exercise : gentle stretching

Welcome @MrsCrocombesJellyMould I totally relate to the comfort eating. I put on 2 stone over 4 years due to stress, then another 2 stone a year and a half into the pandemic when I was massively inactive and was ordering takeaways all the time. 4 stone total (and I’m only 5ft 2!) have lost half so far but it took me a while.

Even if you haven’t seen a change in your weight your organs will always thank you for reducing your alcohol intake. sounds like a good start to Fast 800!

@TeenLifeMum yeah the weight fluctuations took me a bit of time to get used to and just carry on even if I’d gained while doing all the right things. Definitely pays off to keep going.

@MrsCrocombesJellyMould @Getfits me too with comfort eating. My company merged with another and we had an 18 month period of unknown, bullying as people jostled for positions and I ate my way through it all, putting on 2st. I’m now in a permanent role and it’s all calmed down. I still want to leave but I’ll go with it for now and just focus on my health.

I do not want to be the fat mum at the Taylor Swift concert and I want my summer clothes to fit when we go on holiday end of July.

Breakfast was a porridge pot.

Dinner is nasi goreng.
So lunch is going to be low carb!

I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow. I've decided, I have to be in this for the long game too. I saw myself naked in the mirror the other day and was shocked. I'm going to a few gigs this summer and also possibly on a beach holiday, so I need to lose a lot to even contemplate wearing a swim suit!

I have had an ok week so far but caved and ate chocolate and snacks yesterday, so really need to rein it in over the weekend to get the loss I want. I'm still 1lb less than my Monday weigh in so that is spurring me on to eat healthily and excersize today and tomorrow!

Hello again!

Been a little quiet - stuck to 16:8, 10k steps, exercise and no dairy, but my cals have been more than planned…with a few glasses of wine thrown in here and there.

Anyway weighed today and I’ve lost another pound, so 7lbs in 3 weeks. That’s a quarter of my goal! One pound isn’t much but at least it’s the right direction. Now I just need to try to make good choices over the bank holiday weekend!

Can I join too. I have a lot to lose about 5 stone but a stone and a half seems nice and manageable by July. I have a wedding in August in France and I'm dreading the heat and the clothes . Good luck everyone. My hardest time is after dinner so I'm hoping the bright evenings will help me go for a walk instead of stuffing my face on the sofa!

I'm 5ft 3 and 14st 7lbs 😫I have recently had a well woman check, my cholesterol is at 8 and I have high blood pressure. I desperately need to lose at least 4 stone.

Have just picked up the thread and would like to join. I have been losing the past month. Weighing daily and this morning was 94.6 kg 170 cm height. Down from 99 approximately a month ago. Am eating twice a day in a 6/7 hour window. I trashed my gut eating quorn a few months ago so can’t eat sugar or fruit as both give me terrible headaches. I’d just like to be in my bmi range so I have a lot to lose. Will see how I get on…

Hi everyone,
I was doing really well but have had a bad couple of days. Woke up with a horrible sore throat and generally feeling sorry for myself. You always struggle when poorly don't you? Hoping to have more liquids and stick to fresh and healthy foods. This week there was no actual loss - less than 1lb. I need to keep focused on my end goal and keep motivated. Will try and go out for my walk as didn't go yesterday. Weather is a bit pants though! Good luck everyone.

Had to delay weigh in as I was away but weighed in today after the best weekend with family. I'm literally the same weight as I was last week so basically I've had a pause. It was absolutely worth it. I'm back with a full heart and a whole spirit so I'm back on it today.

Finished eating late last night so I'll fast as long as possible today with a very short eating window and reset the scales.

Stats:

SW:147lb
CW: 143.6lb
GW:125lb

NSW: I went shopping this weekend and everything I bought is a size 10.

Photos of me are definitely better - the face bloat has reduced significantly.

I can see my cheekbones.

I've had the scans done for my teeth straightening last week as well.

And I've found some exercise buddies so need to re subscribe to my online app.

Hope everyone is having a good Bank Holiday weekend. I’m struggling a bit as on holiday in the middle of nowhere with v boozy friends and not much opportunity to eat healthily. I’ll have to get back on it when we get home on Wednesday.

No loss for me on this mornings weigh in but I’m feeling so much better! I don’t drink so BH is not a struggle for me, and IF is keeping my evening snackcidents in check..

i did pause IF this week for a few days and I had a couple of not so great days with eating, but straight back on it last Saturday and the momentum is strong. I need to find balance between restricting too much then letting everything go at once 🙈

Godammit I put a pound on this week. Still doing 16:8 but had a couple of unavoidable events with food which ran over my fasting window (and was mostly beige buffet) plus a couple of late evening snackcidents.

How do people control the midnight hunger pangs? I’ve tried water, tried eating my last meal as late as possible and even going to bed early.
Today is a new day though, I have 3 weeks until my holiday and I’m determined to get some more off before then.
