Other than the obvious drink a pint of water
I find it so hard not to just binge on sugar mid afternoon

Plain popcorn

koalabearboombox · 10/01/2024 20:10

Fruit, roasted chickpeas, boiled egg or smoked salmon!

Mintearo7 · 10/01/2024 20:32

At that time I will have a cup of tea - it will slow me down and make me think sensibly on what I will eat next. Rice cake with peanut butter is my go to.

RunningGearOn · 10/01/2024 20:34

Kallo lentil rice cake with cream cheese & slice of ham. Under 100 cal and decent protein hit to satisfy hunger

tillyandmilly · 10/01/2024 20:37

Nairns marmite Oatcakes - packet of them -

sprigatito · 10/01/2024 20:38

Oranges

Candleabra · 10/01/2024 20:38

Boiled egg or couple of slices of ham

Achoo2 · 10/01/2024 20:39

Bread and butter and a cup of tea, no sugar.

AdoraBell · 10/01/2024 20:40

Boiled eggs or nuts. I’m currently cooking some vegetables to snack on for the next few days.

DrunkenElephant · 10/01/2024 20:40

Sliced apple with peanut butter spread on top.

It’s delicious don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! I prefer red apples to green.

Samsonsmum · 10/01/2024 20:41

Carrots

FizzyStream · 10/01/2024 20:43

Full fat Greek yogurt with a touch of honey

idontlikealdi · 10/01/2024 20:43

Piece
Of cheese or a slice of ham

Thelootllama · 10/01/2024 20:43

I don't want to be a twat, but I don't get ravenous. If I'm ravenous I've not eaten enough in my meals. Eat a proper amount of calories, eat proper sized meals, eat loads of protein and veg. Then you don't get ravenous.

MissingMoominMamma · 10/01/2024 20:46

Either celery with peanut butter in the middle, or sliced apple with peanut butter.

Or a boiled egg with lots of black pepper.

KirstenBlest · 10/01/2024 20:46

What are you eating for breakfast and lunch?
I find that cutting down on the carbs and filling up on lots of veg and a bit of protein means I don't often crave sugary things.

bakewellbride · 10/01/2024 20:55

@Thelootllama exactly. I'm slim and healthy and can't remember the last time I felt 'ravenous'. I get enough goodness from my meals. I might snack on nuts or fruit here and there but definitely don't snack every day or feel this burning need to snack.

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 10/01/2024 20:57
  • Boiled egg
  • Cottage cheese (Longley farms full fat, don't bother with any other brand)
  • Couple of slices cooked chicken
  • Full fat greek yoghurt
  • Babybel or cheese string
JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 10/01/2024 21:09

Pineapple

You didn't want to be a twat and yet....

BurbageBrook · 10/01/2024 21:18

I'm rarely ravenous as I usually eat a lot of protein at meal times, but when I was pregnant and was always hungry, I loved a small bowl of full fat Greek yoghurt with nuts and a handful of raisins. It's not a low cal option but so filling.

BurbageBrook · 10/01/2024 21:19

My post makes me sound really virtuous but actually I'm a chocolate addict, but I assume you wanted healthy options!

SophiaElise · 10/01/2024 21:20

Grapes! I always have the large 3 colour pack from M&S to hand.

Traumdeuter · 10/01/2024 21:22

Apple and peanut butter

or

a cupful of frozen summer fruits (the kind you’re meant to make smoothies or fruit coulis with) - the texture is delightful

HeyMicky · 10/01/2024 21:22

Greek yoghurt, protein powder and raspberries
