Anyone doing Slimpod?

Anyone doing Slimpod and want to chat?

I started before Christmas, and am currently on Week 9.

Pre-Christmas it was starting to go well, clothes were feeling a bit looser (I resisted the urge to weigh). Lapsed a bit with listening to the pods over Christmas itself but still think I made some better food and portion choices than I would have before starting.

Me! I'm only 6 days in but finding it great so far, it's a bit strange because I haven't craved chocolate since I started listening to the pods.

CattingAbout · 04/01/2024 20:39

@Hecate01 glad you're enjoying it so far. Less sugar cravings has been a big thing for me - there is a special pod for sugar that unlocks after a few weeks but tbh I found the main pod works better. I also found myself wanting more fruit and veg than I would normally over Christmas.

Yes! It's weird - I haven't snacked at all since I started (admittedly only 4 days ago) and my fat-arse downfall is wandering around the house, aimlessly shoving food in my mouth.

My subconscious mind is obviously much more of a headteacher-type than my conscious mind.

HeavyHeidi · 15/01/2024 13:55

Me too and I thought surely it can't do anything, but chocolate looks positively disgusting and I don't want any alcohol either. Witchcraft!

Offleyhoo · 19/01/2024 01:12

Just seen this thread. I have been doing Slimpod with great success since 10th May last year. Couldn't recommend it more highly in terms of ease of weightloss (not a quick fix) and just been so successful for me in terms of the whole eat less / move more / choose better thing. I feel SO much better - slimmer, cooler (thermally only, sadly!), healthier and more positive. I find the FB group really supportive too. Keep going with it if you've started!

baubletits · 19/01/2024 06:26

I tried Slimpod but sadly it didn't really work for me in terms of weight loss. It's weird because it made me feel much more sensible around food, I would think about getting a takeaway or feel that urge to binge and my head would tell me "but why would you do that?! You're only going to ruin it for yourself". Normally I would have inner fights with myself until I caved and ate what I wanted, then feel rubbish about myself. With Slimpod it just no longer felt right to do that, so that was a big change.

In terms of weight loss, I thought surely it must be working because my attitude had changed so much, so I stuck to it for the 12 weeks without weighing, going off how a specific pair of jeans fit me, only to find that when I put them on I could no longer do them up 😳 got to the end of the 12 weeks and I was 3lbs heavier, clearly my conscious eating brain is still greedy.

I've started calorie counting now the weight is now slowly shifting, but I still listen to the pods at night because they send me to sleep nearly every night 😁

I’ve been using Slimpod since the end of December and it’s going well and I’m loving it.
I don’t have a huge amount to lose ( 1 stone)
but it’s definitely stopped me snacking.
I’ve lost about 4lb in total.

TinyKittenPaw · 25/01/2024 00:15

Game. Changing.
I wish I had done it sooner.

DogsAkimbo · 25/01/2024 06:35

I’ve been doing it for a week and haven’t noticed anything at all. For people it worked for, when did you start to feel a change?

CattingAbout · 25/01/2024 12:02

I'm just coming to the end of the 12 week Gold period. I've been great with the pods, but got behind with the videos and haven't been fantastic at writing down wins.

I haven't weighed myself but tbh none of my clothes feel looser so I'm not convinced I've lost any weight. Don't think I've put any on either though?

However, I'm eating loads more fruit and veg, cooking from scratch a lot more and drinking more water. So I actually feel much healthier and think if I can get the portion sizes under control a bit (still haven't found my 'full' signal!) then some weight might start coming off. I was about 1.5 stone overweight at the start so not masses and masses to lose.

I'm definitely going to carry on with the pods, but I'm not signing up to Extra for the time being until I've had a proper go at the videos and wins.

I started at the end of last week. Like you, @CattingAbout it’s my head that needs sorting! I’ve had the weird no desire to snack thing too. Today I considered a (healthy, largely banana and blueberry) muffin I’d made yesterday and decided against. A bit later, after reflection, I decided I did want it, really enjoyed it and didn’t immediately crave another. I’m drinking more water and seem more able to motivate my arse to move. It’s not making me want to do my marking though… (I’ve plenty of time. I only work one day a week now).
It seemed to have an effect immediately - I listened to the pod for the first time on Friday, slept like a log and then chose a healthy breakfast instead of the bacon and cheese sarnie I’d planned. Alcohol consumption over the week d down too, and I seem to be eating and drinking more slowly. Seems way too easy but I’m just going to go with it!

Canwegodancing · 19/03/2024 15:34

Hi all

My friend absolutely loves slimpod and after 21 days feels chilled about the way she looks.
Watching their videos and listening to a 9 minute talk every night before she goes to bed, she's sleeping really well. She's put weight on but is feeling ok about it. I'm going to start my free trial now. Can't wait.

cardibach · 26/05/2024 11:22

After losing 2 stone by other means, I’ve lost about another 3 quarters of a stone and dropped 2 dress sizes (well, maybe 1.5) since I started Slimpod at the beginning of February. I’m more active - average 57 mins a day of exercise according to Apple Health, up from 24. I feel positive and calm and eat healthily. Go for it!

JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods · 26/05/2024 11:25

Thanks for replying! I was feeling a bit disheartened by it but will stick with it a bit longer.
I definitely need to move more.

I definitely need to move more.

I found the fit pod nudged me to that - plus a conversation with a friend about finding/doing something I already enjoyed. I joined a gentle cycle group and started volunteering to walk dogs at the local dogs’ home. I don’t resent going at all! I’m going to try a dance fitness class next week too. Try loads of different things you might enjoy. Mind you I do spin too and I definitely don’t enjoy that! It’s 40 mins once a week though and I enjoy having done it/being able to do it!

Annwithout · 26/05/2024 13:31

I started Slimpod 40 days ago. I lost over 3 stone from Slimming World/Wegovy, so now I want/need something to keep me on the right track healthy eating/moving/alcohol-wise.
I'm really, really hoping that this is what I need. I think it's working for me, nudging me to healthier foods, and away from snacking/huge portions etc.
I've been tapering off Wegovy until last week, so I can't tell at this stage how purely using Slimpod will work for me, but I would recommend anyone to give the free trial a good go.

jackstini · 26/05/2024 14:37

Had a look at this but it mentions sugar and sweet cravings a lot - which is something I have no issues with. Not much of a sweet tooth at all.

My biggest downfalls are cheese, meat with fat on and wine. Would it help with that?

I don’t have a sweet tooth either. I think it’s a common issue which is why there’s a lot about it in the materials, and a specific sugar pod, but it’s worked really well for me and my bread/cheese/wine weakness. Well, not so much the wine, but I’m working on it…
Edit: it’s also very balanced in the subject of fat. There’s good nutritional advice around actual meals, and I eat a fair amount of cheese still, have whatever meat I like and have switched back to full fat milk.

Does anyone find the videos and emails a bit annoying?

No. Its an email each
Morning with a bit of a trite quote, but you can just delete and ignore if they are annoying you. The videos are crucial. You get a it 4 a week - I watched one a day. They give you all the support and science to help you make changes.

Mich57 · 25/06/2024 14:34

I've just signed up for my free trial.... Purely fluke that I commented on a friend's amazing weight loss and she admitted that she's been doing it!! Had a long chat and she has absolutely embraced it... She's now the same weight of teenage yesteryear!! I'm a bit excited for it ☺️

cardibach · 25/06/2024 17:42

I really love it. Having a difficult week this week, but it can’t all be sunshine and rainbows! Embrace it and do everything advised even if it feels odd/alien.

Wrynose · 26/06/2024 08:37

I did it for a few months, and found it worked, but I fell off the wagon because I just couldn't get through the monotonous videos and found the emails irritating - they broke the spell! I'm going to try again, as the pods were very good, but ime they should break down the key takeaways from the videos and use it as content in the emails, instead of the trite 'live, laugh, live' sound bites.

I'm still making slightly better choices though (eg, afternoon oatcakes instead of chocolate)
