I need to shift this weight (2.5-3 3 stone) I’ve overindulged on the lead up to Christmas and tbh after Christmas Day and today I feel sick so instead of waiting until January; I’m starting tomorrow. Going to do 1200 calories and limit carbs and alcohol where I can. I will let myself have a Prosecco or two New Year’s Eve, but want to start eating better now.
my daughter is 18 months so don’t have the just had a baby excuse anymore, it needs to come off before I get any bigger.

anyone else?

I need to lose probably 4-4.5 stone. Which is very daunting!

In the spirit of small changes I've decided to try and tackle work lunches. I often go to Asda for a meal deal and that has to stop financially and health wise.

I struggle with lunches as we do gousto (it works for us) and I don't do a regular supermarket shop. So finding healthy, tasty lunches I can take to work feels very difficult! I also don't like rice so that feels more difficult.

I'm hoping I can go for a brisk 15 minute walk and eat in the middle of the day as a start to change.

I've had a brie/mushroom/butternut wellington for lunch which we needed to finish off from Xmas food with some leftover vegetables and then 2 boiled eggs and 2 pieces of toast

my biggest issue is avoiding all the ice cream/chocolates/crisps that we still have around the house - I'm relying on my adult children to eat it all but they are eating it all the time and dp is not starting his diet till January!

@FurForksSake I don't like rice either. We did Gousto for a while and started buying the bigger boxes then taking leftovers for lunch the next day but I haven't done it for a while!

I did a long (slow due to kids) walk today. Food wise hasn’t been the healthiest.

breakfast was toast with houmous, avocado, poached eggs and sweet chilli jam

flat white

leftover cottage pie

matchmakers (too many)

choc buttons

a curly wurly

vegetable biryani with poppadoms and mango chutney

feeling bloated today. Need to get a handle on the eating.

Day 5 of no chocolate/ sweets/ biscuits etc.
I had a banging migraine yesterday and was out all day, felt sick with hunger. Went into a Country store with a sweets/ crisps stand at the counter but was not tempted by any of it.
Ate like the very hungry caterpillar when I got home though!

CherryogDog · 29/12/2023 09:19

@TheWeatherOutsideIs I munched my way through a whole box of orange matchmakers in one sitting at the weekend. Then the next day I ate the whole box of the mint ones. I don't have an off button once I start 🤒

I’m not doing too well on the food side of things, I think I’ll worry about that in the new year. Went to the gym today though, despite being sore from my session a couple of days ago.

greentreez23 · 29/12/2023 13:26

I'm doing well. Scales say I've lost 2lb so happy with that. Have stopped eating biscuits/cakes/chocolate and Limited my bread to 2 slices a day. Loads of veg and if I'm hungry I'm having a banana and a pear.

CherryogDog · 30/12/2023 10:47

I've lost a pound, I need to get motivated to do some food prep so I've always got something to hand.
How often do people weigh themselves?
I do most days, if I did it weekly and it coincided with a "bloated" day, I'd get disheartened and probably hit the chocolate. If it was on a lighter day, I'd think I was doing so well that a bit of chocolate would be OK 😄
I tend to wear stretchy clothes so if I dont weigh frequently I don't notice the weight gain until it's gone too far. Which is what's happened this year.
Last summer I was shocked to find none of my summer shorts and lightweight trousers fit me, now it's winter I'm struggling with my coats strangling my hips (that's if I can squeeze my bingo wings in the sleeves).

FestiveRobin · 30/12/2023 11:25

We're away in our static caravan for new year so I'm trying to be good while everyone else is eating crap.

I've bought a soup for lunch that I'll have with bread (trying to cut down bread but will have with one slice) and dinner is spatchcock chicken with vegetables.

I've also bought some of the M and S Mojito cocktails for NYE as a treat as I love those!

FestiveRobin · 30/12/2023 11:28

I normally weigh myself every day, naked before a coffee in the morning lol to give myself the best chance of the lowest weight Grin

As I'm away, I'll only weigh myself when I'm back :)

greentreez23 · 30/12/2023 18:45

I weigh every morning. Keeps me on track. Another good day today
