Wegovy started today!

Hi
Just started wegovy today. I'm 14st 8 currently, and miserable!
I've felt slightly nauseous today, but it has seemed to cut down all snacking. And I wasn't that bothered about my meals. Which is unlike me!

Anyone started today or starting this week, who wants someone to go through the same journey with!?

Hello! I started last week on 0.25. Am 111 kilos so looking forward to weighing in on Wednesday to see if I have lost anything

Emanresu9 · 11/12/2023 21:25

Yep I started on Wednesday. 0.25mg. I’ve had no side effects and was feeling full very easily for about 2 days but from day 3 it wore off. I believe this is normal for such a low starting dose.

HannahRa · 12/12/2023 13:41

I started yesterday as well! Absolutely no side effects so far, but no change to my appetite either. I’m really hoping that this will work!

Smileymum12 · 12/12/2023 16:45

So I feel a little dizzy.
Still want my meals, however then when I attempt to eat them I don't really fancy them

Maybe a higher dose will be better!

Bear I. Mind the starting dose is barely anything and 1mg is the dose that is properly effective so keep your expectations low but I found it did have an impact for a couple of days but it wore off well before injection day until getting to 1mg.

Emanresu9 · 13/12/2023 21:03

My 2.5 had well and truly worn off by the time we rolled around to today (day 7). Then I took my second 2.5mg injection this morning and only managed 899 calories today (tracked in MFP) and feel so, so full. Like I’ve eaten thanksgiving dinner today. Stuffed. I’m expecting this feeling tomorrow and maybe Friday but then think it’ll wear off again for a few days before the next dose becomes due again.

Smileymum12 · 14/12/2023 07:54

I'm day 4. And still feeling full and put off by food
I'm going to pizza express for lunch today, currently don't fancy anything!

We all know those slim people who seem utterly uninterested by food. They pick at it and then forget to eat as they’re busy in conversation… whereas I’m busy tucking in. This is what those people must feel like naturally!! Just can’t be bothered with food!

HannahRa · 14/12/2023 14:40

I do feel like the food noise in my head has quietened down quite a lot, which is such a relieve! No cravings so far…I’m excited to see how the week progresses

Smileymum12 · 14/12/2023 19:16

Totally this!

Yesterday I was ravenous and ate a massive lunch. I injected last night and today was better but I still succumbed to chocolate biscuits.

I am super tired today though, so am off to bed in a minute to get a good nights rest.

Smileymum12 · 14/12/2023 19:50

I feel mine is wearing off too....not due to Inject until Monday

I started yesterday on .25; maybe its a placebo but I've eaten so little since and haven't felt hungry at all.

Magicmum101 · 15/12/2023 17:58

I collected my first prescription today. Can I ask what time of day you inject, do you eat beforehand and where do you inject? Tummy or thigh?

Emanresu9 · 15/12/2023 19:22

@Magicmum101 any time of day and doesn’t matter if you’ve eaten or not. Personally I do tummy as feel there is more surplus fat there to stick the pen in!

Smileymum12 · 15/12/2023 20:50

I put mine in my thigh. I'm not sure like you said if it was placebo, but I didn't want to eat from immediately after!

Day 5 today, and I feel its wearing off. I've still managed to be good.

Expecting the weekend to be hard!

Week 1 progress:
Starting weight 14st 11.

Week 1 weigh in. 14st 8. (3lbs lost)

Pleased with progress, as there is so much nice food in the house. And there have been a couple of Christmas parties.

My thoughts - it's stopped all cravings. Which is biggest advantage.

Not liked not fancying eating at all. But I guess it's working!

This might sound odd but I’m a comfort and stress eater/snacker. Do you miss not eating? What do you do instead if you would eat for comfort usually?

Magicmum101 · 18/12/2023 18:39

I should add, I’ve not started yet - getting through Christmas first!

HannahRa · 19/12/2023 06:48

@Magicmum101 I can’t say that I miss not eating, because I still have 3 meals / day. I am a comfort eater too, but I’ve only been on Wegovy for a week (yesterday was my second dose) and I haven’t felt the need to eat for comfort.

Smileymum12 · 26/12/2023 09:51

How did everyone cope with Christmas day? My 0.25mg isn't working any more. I've ordered 0.5mg- hoping it comes soon.

0.25mg only worked a week!!!

LovelaceBiggWither · 26/12/2023 09:55

.25 isn't a therapeutic dose for most users. .5 isn't either. If you jump from .25 after only 2 weeks, you're risking horrendous side effects. You are supposed to titrate up slowly to make it easier for your body to tolerate the drug.

Some people don't find it to be effective until 2mg.

HannahRa · 26/12/2023 10:02

I haven’t been too hungry in week two, but haven’t lost much weight, just under 1/2 pound. However, it’s been a hectic week and I haven’t had much time for anything.
What I found is that cravings are gone - for example I have made my all time favourite cake for Christmas and before Wegovy I would not have been able to stop eating it. Now, I can have a small piece and be happy with it.
I did my 3rd shot yesterday evening an so far I’m OK.

Smileymum12 · 26/12/2023 18:34

Yes overeating I think has mostly stopped here too.

I will titrate up gradually, I won't risk increasing too quick. I've only ordered the 0.5mg early due to Christmas and not wanting to run out.

I think lots of people will want it in the new year!
