2 Stones off by Christmas- a thread for those with quite a lot to lose.

RedDoughnut · 17/09/2023 08:51

2 stones is a drop in the ocean but there are 14 weeks to Christmas and so at 2lbs a week a 2 stone loss is achievable. Maybe a little bit more if you have lots to lose like me. ( 5 stones).

I'm going to weigh in on Monday and possibly check my measurements if I can find a tape measure!

I'd welcome some company form anyone who wants to have some accountability and a place to keep track of their weekly / daily food intake or losses.

I'm now off to have a small and healthy breakfast.

Happy Saturday everyone. I’ve had a shocker these past two weeks and have put on 3lbs. Just shows me how easy it is to go off track. Did think I’ll start again on Monday but that’s my old ways and I know I would over indulge this weekend if planning to start on a Monday. So I’m back on it as of today. 8 weeks to Christmas and would be delighted to lose another 11lbs although would be happy with 7. Will weigh in officially on Monday to keep myself accountable.

ChickenChipsandBeans · 28/10/2023 12:48

Hi all. So I didn't post last week as for the second weekend in a row, I undid all of my good efforts with wine and snacks and then spent the last 2 weeks re-losing what I had put on. Anyway, on the positive side, I have stuck religiously to my 20 minutes hiit and then a 5km walk every week day for the last 4 weeks. My trip to the UK is just over 2 weeks away, if I can lose 4lbs more by then, I will have reached my goal of losing a stone by the time I fly. Weighed myself this morning and was really happy. I ordered a shapewear bodysuit hoping it would pull me in a bit more.... it arrived and I have just spent 20 minutes getting in and out of it😮. It doesn't perform the miracle I was hoping for😕. In fact, the reality of how I looked in my winter clothes even while wearing it was a real downer. I've lost 10lbs so far which is so good, but I obviously have so much to lose that although I feel better, I don't look it.

Oh god so I just went out with my mum and was waxing lyrical about how much my attitude has changed toward food and how I can really see myself following through and how much more in control I'm feeling, only to come home and scoff about 500 calories of bonne maman chocolate hazelnut spread Sad

I really need to get over this hurdle. I know I'm on my period so this stuff is harder but I am worried about losing track.

jeomeollibyeoldul · 28/10/2023 16:31

hello everyone! hope youre all having nice weekends.

the steaks i made yesterday were a bit rare... i could eat most of it, just not the part in the very centre. it was still mooing! will cook a bit longer next time...

yesterday was a really good day with food, today i've had a treat from town as ive gone out. it was a doughnut. will probably be over my calories today but im allowing it! just need to stay on track next week and then it'll be my birthday.

also: have bough first box of christmas chocolate. it seems like it was a bad idea as its already tempting me. ill really have to stuff it out of sight, somewhere hard to access.

ILikeItHere · 28/10/2023 16:40

Hello everyone! I am baking crustless quiche from fast800 recipes for dinner tonight. Had my usual 2 shakes, a bite of chicken from my daughter's lunch and some melon.
I am down another pound as of this morning. It really spurs me on to see those results. Cannot wait to be able to wear all those clothes I bought when I was my ideal weight 3 years ago.
We are meeting my husband's family from the US between Christmas and New Year and really hoping to look better by then. They saw me this summer at my heaviest after many years and I felt awful...

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 28/10/2023 17:30

Good to hear of those doing well. I am two days into a three day eating out marathon. After tomorrow my diary clears out and I'll be back on the diet. If I avoid gaining weight this week I will be surprised and thrilled.

jeomeollibyeoldul · 29/10/2023 16:22

hello everyone - is anyone else having a really hungry day? 😆i have had porridge and curry today, made a huge batch to save. we need to do shopping again tonight so going to pick up meat, veg, fruit and have a very virtuous week before my birthday. have a jacket potato that needs eating too, and havent even looked at the christmas chocolates again. lets hope this continues...

RedDoughnut · 29/10/2023 19:33

It's weigh in day tomorrow

I'm not looking forward to it. A weeks holiday and then a pizza and chips takeaway when we got back.

I'm back to it today though.

holidays are completely different! i wouldnt expect anyone to be totally healthy on a holiday. they only happen once a year and you have to try everything whilst youre there!

ILikeItHere · 29/10/2023 20:11

Exactly, make a fresh start tomorrow.
I had a slice of yoghurt cake today 😄, hope that won't show in the morning.
Other than that more or less on plan. I stopped my bike, totally do not feel like it now.
Kept myself busy to take my mind off food.

Morning all this weigh day Monday.
Start weight 15 st
Current weight 14st 6.5lbs
I've had a terrible week, so that's a gain of 1.75lbs. I've been living on rubbish, mainly sandwiches and biscuits. I'm blaming my ghastly toxic mother. I won't derail the thread with the detail. I've been reading along to keep my head in the game and I'm back on it today with a vengeance! I go on holiday on Sunday so need a good loss this week to allow for the inevitable next week. In the past I wouldn't have stayed with it and tried again so I'm taking that as a victory despite the big gain. I'm disappointed in myself as my initial goal was a stone off before I went on holiday but I'll take the 7.5lbs I have currently as a step in the right direction and hope to add to it this week .
Eyes on the prize @RedDoughnut!

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 30/10/2023 07:30

I have maintained this week. Broken down it was a 2lb loss Monday - Thursday and a 2lb gain for the three days we had visitors, meals out and celebrations.

My original goal was 10lb by Christmas and I think this is still doable.

A one stone loss should be achievable!

I've lost my way, re starting today. I darent weigh in. Next weigh in will be Friday. I hate food and how it makes me feel - binging, regret binging, weight gain, regret weight gain and so the cycle continues. Time to break that vicious cycle. Food is my comfort and my go to in all but my most happiest times. I can't control myself, I'm all or nothing. We have treats in the house for DC. Not fair to make them go without just because I can't control myself

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 30/10/2023 08:39

@Boyboyboy10 it's hard isn't it, when you have stuff in for the DC.

My youngest will be getting a brace in the next few months, and so is likely to be quite restricted in what sugary stuff she can eat - hopefully this will be good for me, in terms of reducing snack availability. The 16yo will just have to buy her own.

RedDoughnut · 30/10/2023 08:41

@Boyboyboy10

I think you are being too hard on yourself. You aren't that heavy unless you are very short and you can run!!

But I do understand about not being fully in control of eating, I'm the same.

Are there treats your DC like but you don't?

Can I join late please. I am going to really try.

RedDoughnut · 30/10/2023 08:50

@recklessgran - do you think you were too strict to start with?

I have a tendency to be all or nothing.

Have a good week but don't let dieting spoil your holiday

There will still be 6 weeks to Xmas when you get back

Bananas1350 · 30/10/2023 08:51

So I weigh myself everyday. But lost 3 pounds since last Monday. So I am now 11. 9.

RedDoughnut · 30/10/2023 08:52

@Oblomov23 Absolutely, welcome!

I think a stone is achievable by Christmas

Maybe a bit more if you have not dieted recently, the first week or two can give a good loss.

OP posts:
RedDoughnut · 30/10/2023 08:54

@Bananas1350 That's excellent ! There will be nothing of you by Christmas!

Boyboyboy10 · 30/10/2023 09:05

Thanks @RedDoughnut I'm around 6ft tall . I run for an hour non stop. Friends say I look slim, I don't see it. I'm not happy or comfortable with my weight or how I look. I currently average around 12.3 stone

recklessgran · 30/10/2023 09:08

@RedDoughnut no, not too strict - it's the only way due to my other health issues if I want results. The problem is that I'm definitely an emotional/comfort eater and on top of that I do have quite a stressful life. I am so mad that I've let my vile mother get to me yet again and this has derailed me. When my heads in a good place I don't find it difficult to stay with my plan. I'm so happy that I haven't given up this time though so I'm taking that as my victory for last week as there's not much else to celebrate about it!! Just got to get to Sunday and I'll be away from it all. Well done on all the losses this tread is great. Hope everyone has a good week.

RedDoughnut · 30/10/2023 09:18

@Boyboyboy10 Definitely too hard on yourself!!

A thread for those with quite a lot to lose....
That's not you! Which I promise doesn't mean you aren't wanted here ( you are!!) but I think you need to reframe your 'weight journey'

Have you checked your BMI?
