2 Stones off by Christmas- a thread for those with quite a lot to lose.

RedDoughnut · 17/09/2023 08:51

2 stones is a drop in the ocean but there are 14 weeks to Christmas and so at 2lbs a week a 2 stone loss is achievable. Maybe a little bit more if you have lots to lose like me. ( 5 stones).

I'm going to weigh in on Monday and possibly check my measurements if I can find a tape measure!

I'd welcome some company form anyone who wants to have some accountability and a place to keep track of their weekly / daily food intake or losses.

I'm now off to have a small and healthy breakfast.

@blimmy That's interesting about being smaller, if not lighter
@Hundredthmillionthdiet I have a Renpho sales and I bought the tape measure too BUT I've put it somewhere and have no clue where it is so I can't report if it works or not.

Thank you all.

My goal is 12.5lb which if I’m 14st then it’s achievable by Xmas but if I’m 17st then I’ve got no chance but I’ll still hopefully lose 2st.

I will try with new batteries and try again tomorrow morning.

If not I’ll have a look in boots and then see what theirs says.

I think I will try with a tape measure too.

If my scales are staying the same in one place, then I may take the number with a pinch of salt but still track the pounds lost, so then I’ll still hopefully be able to see my progress as a loss of weight is more important than the actual number.

It doesn't matter which you use. Just work on losing the weight relevant to whatever number you decide to use.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/10/2023 21:31

That's s big difference in the scales

Meant to weigh on flat Lino /tiles

Not Carpet

Hundredthmillionthdiet · 05/10/2023 07:22

Woo hoo just decided to weigh myself this morning and I'm in the next bracket so 14st 13lb. Nice to see the numbers going down ❤️ that's a stone off since I weighed myself in July.

Boyboyboy10 · 05/10/2023 08:20

Morning everyone. Despite scoffing a bar of chocolate yesterday- and not just your average size one either - I have managed to lose today. I'm now only 1.6lbs away from the next stone bracket (11). This is what I can't seem to break. I need to stay focused. Plse help me stay on track. We have just booked a holiday for next year, I need 3 stone off for then. 2 stone is my Xmas target. There is no way I'm looking/ feeling big in my bikini AGAIN next year. No bloody way.

Boyboyboy10 · 05/10/2023 09:02

Well done @Hundredthmillionthdiet , great work !

Bananas1350 · 05/10/2023 10:16

@Boyboyboy10 i weighed in at 12 stone exactly this morning. I’m the same. Feel like the last few pounds have taken forever to go. And that the number 11 will never get here

Sparky81 · 05/10/2023 11:31

Hi Everyone
I had a great week last week food wise. I was totally on it. Went out at the weekend, but was aware and kept to low carb, had a couple glasses of red wine and a few gins. The next day is when I usually want to eat crap so allowed myself a bag of crisps and a small bag of maltesers. Weighed myself on Monday and....3lb ON! 😩Couldn't bare to post it.
However, I'm due on in a few days so i'm trying to ignore it and keep going. I was sticking loosely to F800 principles but more like 1200 cals. Getting a big fed up not having anything 'nice' so i think i'll just try cal counting and work in a treat now and again. If it comes off slower then so be it. As long as it comes off!

jeomeollibyeoldul · 05/10/2023 11:38

@Sparky81 it was honestly probably just 3lb of retained water! i prefer calorie counting and still allowing myself some treats, i think otherwise it brings on those situations where "been bad" and eaten some biscuits or whatever which then opens the floodgates of eating every treat in sight because its "the last time allowed to have these"

today ive got to do some cooking but need to clean the dishes from last night first! was just too tired after work and driving lesson. kept my eating in control though and had fruit for snacks. i still seem to be losing inches which is very encouraging.

Sparky81 · 05/10/2023 11:40

yeah @jeomeollibyeoldul you're probably right. I don't think period coming is helping things either. In terms of bloat and wanting to eat everything in sight.
You're right though, I need to work in the treats for long term success. otherwise i'll be back at square one.

midnightglow29 · 05/10/2023 14:55

Congratulations, everyone, on your weight loss. I have lost -5lb this week, so that has taken me to 1st 10lb in 5 weeks (started 29th Aug).

Bananas1350 · 05/10/2023 15:06

@Sparky81 a few weeks ago before I was due on the scales said I had put on five pounds. I hadn’t of course as the next week showed. This is why I weigh everyday. As something like that would have made me spiral. But I can see my steady weight loss during the week

SundayCherry · 05/10/2023 15:11

Afternoon everyone :) I’m feeling a little bit annoyed today as I had a McDonald’s (agh!) but it was within my calories. Im currently doing Nutracheck and on 1300 calories per day. I’m not being too tough on what I eat as long as I’m within my calories as I do an outreach job and sometimes have to grab food on the go.

Hoping for at least 2 pounds next Tuesday which will take me down into the 13 stone bracket. Keep envisioning a lovely dress for Christmas to stay motivated l.

Losingmymind85 · 05/10/2023 15:54

9st 10. Flipping delighted.
Another 10lb to go. With menopause there's no way I'm seeing 8st on the scale ever.

jeomeollibyeoldul · 05/10/2023 18:16

had a cooking disaster as my meat wasnt good! now feeling hungry and already lying in bed. bit fed up and want a mcdonalds! but reading about all your brilliant losses gives me my motivation back.

Anothagoatthis · 05/10/2023 18:19

I haven’t exercised in weeks but this week taken out my hair extensions and I’ve consistently been weighing 3 pounds lighter since, 😅so I’m now 10st 12/69Kg after being over 11stone for all of last month. Obviously haven’t lost weight but good to know my real weight 😂

Next goal milestone is 10stone 5 by November 🥳 then I may just get to 10stone by new year!

MrsBobo · 05/10/2023 18:29

Does anyone not weigh themselves at home?

My new scales arrived yesterday and so I’ve checked my weight today and upstairs tells me I’m 14.3 and downstairs tells me I’m 17.10!!

I want to check it more accurately but I’m not sure where to do it to.

Can you send them back? They sound faulty! I once had a scale that showed us as half a stone lighter but at least it was fairly consistent so once we figured it out we knew just to put half a stone on.

I don’t think there should be 3 stone difference based on what place in the house you have your scales.

It could also be that neither of the readings are correct or it’s going to be throwing out random weights if it it’s faulty. Best to have a more accurate way of monitoring your weight.

Agree with pp that you can check in Boots or perhaps other pharmacists - not all have scales.

I used to rely on Boots scales but after I got sick of the my local Boots one being ‘out of order’ (plus it adds up to £4 a month if you weigh once a week) I just got a second pair of scales. So if there’s any doubt I go onto that one.

HanarCantWearSweaters · 05/10/2023 20:13

I’ve had the most un-me thing happen. Day 4 of fast 800 and today I really, really wanted crisps or something. Something crunchy. Told myself if I walked to the shop that might earn a bag of quavers, then it morphed into well maybe if I go to the gym I can get crisps AND chocolate. I haven’t been to the gym in 2 months and lost all my confidence there. But got dressed and put my shoes out and as soon as I finished work I went. It was awkward and I felt out of place but I did an hour of weights and then walked home and didn’t feel like buying any snacks. I’ve warmed up my meatballs and courgetti for dinner and I have the tiniest spark of hope warming me. I’ve felt it so many times before and always ruined it eventually. I hope I can keep this feeling.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/10/2023 21:44

Gym and no treats. Well done

Double bonus

blimmy · 05/10/2023 23:11

This thread reminded me that we had a set of Renpho scales, gathering dust at the back of a cupboard. I set them up in a different room from my usual Salter scales - both rooms are hard floor and stable - was gutted to weigh in at 12st 9 on the Renpho ones! 😥Given that I've been 12st 5.5 the past two weigh-ins on my other scales I'd been hoping for at least a pound or two off this week.
I don't officially weigh in until Saturday so I'm going to get on both scales then, and see what the difference is!

RigorMortisRadio · 06/10/2023 07:05

Well I'm crawling back and jumping back on the wagon after a crap few weeks, I'm not even going to say why as it's just excuse after excuse. If I'm serious about this I need to quit the excuses.

I have maintained my weight from 2 weeks ago so it's not too bad but I could have lost 4/5lbs more in that time!

Anyway week 3? Weigh in
SW: 17st 5
CW: 17st 2

Goal for next week is 17st.

WinterNightStars · 06/10/2023 08:51

Week 2 weigh in & down by 0.8kg (1.7lbs)

SW 77.2kg
CW 76.3kg
Total loss 0.9kg (1.9lbs)

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2023 08:52

2lbs off this week. Whoop. That's 11 lbs

Does happy dance
