2 Stones off by Christmas- a thread for those with quite a lot to lose.

RedDoughnut · 17/09/2023 08:51

2 stones is a drop in the ocean but there are 14 weeks to Christmas and so at 2lbs a week a 2 stone loss is achievable. Maybe a little bit more if you have lots to lose like me. ( 5 stones).

I'm going to weigh in on Monday and possibly check my measurements if I can find a tape measure!

I'd welcome some company form anyone who wants to have some accountability and a place to keep track of their weekly / daily food intake or losses.

I'm now off to have a small and healthy breakfast.

It's the weekends that are a killer!

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 01/10/2023 10:45

Yup, weekends are definitely the hardest. Both weeks I've been at my lowest on Friday morning, after a working week separated from my fridge. Weekends it's willpower alone, and that's in short supply.

Anothagoatthis · 01/10/2023 16:10

I have a deadline on Monday that I’ve been working on over the weekend and I’ve been extremely stressed. So this weekend I’ve just been very sedentary plus constantly eating.

Not too much junk food in the house so it’s mainly been healthy stuff, veg, watermelon, yoghurt, tuna sandwiches, seeds etc but still consumed too many calories no doubt .

hope to get back on a strict diet on Tuesday 😮‍💨 timely reminder to me how much stress impacts my weight if I’m not prepared with lots of low calories healthier snacks to nibble.

Seddon · 02/10/2023 00:03

I had a bit of a weekend blowout too. All linked to alcohol!

I had a modest amount of wine, but it set off food cravings and led to some really bad choices! I've resigned myself to staying off the booze for the remainder of this initial phase of rapid weight loss (up until the end of November.)

recklessgran · 02/10/2023 06:59

Morning all this weigh day Monday - Week 2.
Last week 14st 8.5lbs
Today 14st 7lbs
So that's 1.5lbs off this week and 7lbs in total in two weeks. I'm halfway to my interim goal of a stone off by the time I go on holiday on 5th November. I hope I can get another 7lbs off in the next four weeks!
Happy enough with that considering my health circumstances.
Plan for this week is to stick to 16:8 and 800 calories very low carb. I might consider OMAD but am going to concentrate on healthy food options within my 800 calorie allowance.
Good luck with today's weighin everyone!

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 02/10/2023 07:23

Well done recklessgran!

I've lost another pound, so am now 13st13. Only 2lbs loss in total, but all heading in the right direction.

ChickenChipsandBeans · 02/10/2023 07:40

Morning everyone, well I stuck to the exercise last week, but failed with cutting out wine completely... I know for me it's now as much a habit as anything for example while I'm cooking I have a glass, so this week I am going to have sparkling water with lemon in a wine glass! I've done this before and it actually works. On the whole, I was better, but this week I will really buckle down. Managed to lose 1.1kg so I'm happy considering I had lapses. Well done to all who have lost weight this week. Let's keep trying xxx

GoodDream · 02/10/2023 08:41

1lb on for me this week, so overall loss of 1lb in two weeks for me for this challenge 😭😂

I had a good week food and exercise wise, so it's an undeserved gain - pretty sure it's cycle related, so am hoping for a good loss next Monday when the bloat's gone again!

Isthiscorrect · 02/10/2023 08:45

Well that's was a week. Out for drinks and snacks Thursday. Less than usually but too much. Moonlight picnic Friday, too much but again less than it would normally be. Sauted veg for me, mashed potatoes and a chop for him. Yep too much mash.

So a loss of .4kg which is about right for the rest of the week in calorie deficit. Room for improvement.

ACurlyWurlyTail · 02/10/2023 09:49

Week 1 (18/09) Start weight 15.4
Weigh in 14.13
Loss this week 2lb
Total loss 5lb
Xmas target 14st
Overall target 11st

Been a tough weekend as DW came home from a trip with bags of chocolate and sweets and I left my willpower somewhere safe, couldnt find it and ate the lot on Saturday and Sunday!
Back to it!

Keep going all.

jeomeollibyeoldul · 02/10/2023 11:05

good morning everyone! i had a good weekend, bit of beer and chocolate but all in moderation, kept the rest of my eating on track. im really craving a roast chicken at the moment for some reason so going to try to pick one up this week! otherwise i have a few ready-meals in the fridge for easy portion sizing and some good healthy veggies to throw in.

keeping myself distracted is really helping me not to mindlessly eat and i noticed that my old habit of being starving at random points in the day has disappeared! i used to eat 3 packets of crisps at a time when i got hungry in the afternoon 😱

great work guys 👏brilliant losses

RedDoughnut · 02/10/2023 11:18

I REALLY would like to lose 4lbs this week to see a 15 something on the scales on Monday.
Apart from one evening this week I have been good and my calories count is low and my daily number of steps high so I haven't really got much more wriggle room.

Boyboyboy10 · 02/10/2023 12:58

@RedDoughnut I am with you this week. I need 4lb to get me into the next stone bracket. Had a crap morning and have eaten brown seeded bread, no butter/jam etc just the bread. I am DETERMINED this week to not weigh every day and wait until saturday morning. Lots of gym work/walking/water/clean eating/as minimal booze as possible ( I have 1 night out this week where I will have 2 glasses of wine). Good luck !

@OldFatLadyTriesAgain I was over 18 stones earlier this summer.
If I can do it then I'm pretty sure anyone can.
I've lost over just over 2 stones now. Although no one has really noticed yet.
This thread is to help me give it a big push! It's taking a lot of willpower.

Keep posting and updating, it may help!

@Boyboyboy10 i am about 1 pound away from seeing an 12 instead of a 12. That was my first goal.

Boyboyboy10 · 02/10/2023 16:18

@Bananas1350 good going, you've totally got this. A toilet trip could see that last 1lb come off 😂

BurntOrange · 02/10/2023 16:47

Can I join? Current weight is 11st 12 and would like to be 11st or less by Christmas
🤞

That's the worst when you out in the effort and no one notices.
We do it for ourselves and our health. But it really would be lovely if someone spotted the effort we'd made.

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 02/10/2023 17:07

Had a heavy weekend although l knew it would be so today am refocussed as l know the worst thing to do would be to say sod it might as well give up. 1 stone 5lbs to go before christmas then hopefully another stone after christmas

I'm still here!

I still have the weirdest scales that seem to fluctuate wildly depending on where on the bathroom floor I place them (old house) and whether it's bedtime or morning 🤣

Talking an average, I'm at 13st. I think that's a loss of about 3lb.

My DC birthday party today so will start properly again tomorrow.

Well done 👏 on all the losses so far everyone 😀

I always weigh 3lb less jn am then evening

I was literally just about to start a thread myself, I’m so happy that this one is up already!

I’m hoping to lose about a stone this month and then another stone by Xmas.

Can I ask for examples of what diets they’re doing/a days food.

Also has anyone lost weight eating carbs?
I’m ok at eating low calorie but it’s the carbs thats my killer.

Today I’ve had:
A cup of coffee (with semi skimmed milk & 1 sugar).
Greek yoghurt, berries & sweetener.
An apple.
Chicken curry with rice.
Fab ice lolly.
And I may have a cup of tea with milk later.

My plan is to eat a max 500 calories during the day and then eat a normal dinner of max 500 calories.
I’m aiming for 800kcals a day.

I do have a sweet tooth as you can tell.
I’m going to swap the sugar in my coffee for sweetener.

Would 2 cups of drink with a bit of milk in really stall my progress?

I’m wondering whether to not have any milk but I’m not a massive fan of black coffee.
