2 Stones off by Christmas- a thread for those with quite a lot to lose.

RedDoughnut · 17/09/2023 08:51

2 stones is a drop in the ocean but there are 14 weeks to Christmas and so at 2lbs a week a 2 stone loss is achievable. Maybe a little bit more if you have lots to lose like me. ( 5 stones).

I'm going to weigh in on Monday and possibly check my measurements if I can find a tape measure!

I'd welcome some company form anyone who wants to have some accountability and a place to keep track of their weekly / daily food intake or losses.

I'm now off to have a small and healthy breakfast.

@jjeomeollibyeoldul it's good to have a goal. Good luck.

Bananas1350 · 28/09/2023 13:38

@Isthiscorrect sadly I have a bad gallbladder. So I’m on a diet of fruit, veg and low fat meats. Don’t cheat as that leads to huge amount of pain.

Losingmymind85 · 28/09/2023 14:24

I'm still mainly on the wagon, which is great. Starving but had no sweets at all since Sunday, which may not seem like an achievement to some but as someone who lives on snack food, it's a step in right direction.
Still eating too much-had a high protein yogurt for breakfast, a GF wrap with chicken and salad, plus a high protein choc mouse and 3 rice cakes for lunch. Didn't need it all but it should hopefully keep me going til after work dinner at 8pm

RedDoughnut · 29/09/2023 09:25

I had a great day yesterday but it all went wrong at dinner time when I read a Martin Lewis post in Facebook about salt and vinegar crisps!
He likes very vinegary crisps and so do I ! Reading about it literally made my mouth water. So I caved in and ate a bag, which then opened the floodgates. I ended up on about 3000 calories.
Anyway today is another day and I still want 2 stones off by Christmas so I'm just going to have to be stronger

Oh bananas sorry to hear that. Take the greatest care of yourself.

HanarCantWearSweaters · 29/09/2023 09:47

I keep trying to get started on 16:8 but I get so hungry in the mornings and late at night and give in 😓 I’m already ravenous

WinterNightStars · 29/09/2023 09:48

I usually weigh on a Friday so 4 days since first weigh in since Monday:

SW 77.2kg
CW 77.1kg
Loss 0.1kg

It's still a loss however small 🤣Came back after a weeks hol on Sun so I'm prob still gaining from that!
I've just got a new job so an additional goal to lose some weight for 🤞

lozrox90 · 29/09/2023 09:53

Week 2 weigh day for me and I've maintained. Happy with that to be honest as did have a pub lunch, a Chinese takeaway and lots of wine at the weekend! This week will be a better one so hoping for a couple of lbs off next week. Hope everyone is getting on OK 😊

I saw that post too on Insta, crisps are my weakness especially S&V, it made my mouth water 😂

Morning all. A truly spectacular fall from grace from me too yesterday when I fell into the biscuit and cake tins. FFS. 2 digestives, 2 chocolate digestives and a mini battenburg were consumed in 3 minutes flat with one cup of tea. Why? Why did I do this - DH was out walking the dog so what on earth is the secret munching about? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have done that if he'd been here! No reason, I wasn't upset/worried etc. - so cross with myself and a sneaky preview on the scales this morning shows a quarter pound GAIN from Monday's weigh in. Right. Today's a new day and I clearly MUST try harder.

ACurlyWurlyTail · 29/09/2023 10:44

I have made healthy choices all week and am now bracing myself for the weekend. I will be home alone, bored and normally eat my bordom so going to be keeping very busy instead.
Was offered pastries this morning and took a satsuma instead so feeling morally superior that my last week self but now obsessing about the pain au chocolat in the office kitchen, hoping someone scoffs it before I cave.
Have a friend visiting later who has super will power, doesnt drink anything apart from green tea, so she will keep me from the biscuit tin and wine rack simply by being there.
Has anyone tried the Bang Bang Chicken pots from Aldi. 230kcals and yummy! might have one for dinner so I dont have to cook and then that leaves me space for some snacks.
Weigh in for me on Monday, everything is crossed for a couple of lbs off!

shearwater · 29/09/2023 10:49

I'd forgotten about a work do yesterday and that rather ruined my 5:2 fast day! Also trying not to eat every fatty, stodgy, salty thing in sight this morning. I should be within calories for the week though and will not go too mad with my takeaway choice tonight - probably chips and gravy! I won't be drinking any more alcohol this week either. I'm out on Saturday night but am driving.

PinkArt · 29/09/2023 10:50

Hmm. I've gained this week and I'm back to where I started in this group, at 18'1. I'm on my period though and that always threw a weight curve ball when they were regular (deep in peri, I actually thought I might have closed for business), so I'm not going to stress and see what next week looks like.

jeomeollibyeoldul · 29/09/2023 13:44

thank you @midnightglow29 , clothes are my main motivation as im not too bothered about the exact number on the scales but do think its such a waste when i cant wear perfectly good, nice clothes anymore.

good going everyone! don't worry to those who have fallen off the wagon, days like that happen now and again... as long as its not every day it wont derail slow and steady progress.

had a lunchtime walk today so im feeling good. bought lunch out, it was around 550 cals. going to cook tonight ... no meetings left and thinking of skiving off the rest of work as its such a lovely day today and probably one of the last ones... (just kidding boss if youre reading this!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/09/2023 14:20

I lost 3lbs so 9 in total and got my half a stone

Well done @midnightglow29 and @Bananas1350

RedDoughnut · 29/09/2023 20:24

I have had a much better day today. Although I made enchiladas for dinner and couldn't even begin to calculate the calories.

Eyes on the prize!

Very pleased with that but aware that the first few weeks are always the best. I need to keep my focus even when i'm not seeing the pounds trickle off every couple of days. Totm approaching so need to accept I'll probably see a gain as well.

One or two bad habits creeping in and I can see how these lead to a chain:

-Not preparing a lunch led to...
-Not eating all day which led to...
-Buying crisps in the supermarket and eating them.

-Same trigger also probably led to me adding sweetener again to my coffee which led to...
-Cravings in the evenings which led to...
-Cheese on toast at 10pm.

Clearly the lunch thing needs to be addressed this weekend so i'm better prepared for next week.

suneetime · 30/09/2023 10:18

Well, I’m still plodding along. I’m trying a month by month approach and adding in a new habit for each month. Sept was do 16.8 and improve my self care. Little things like follow a proper skincare routine and have more time for me.

SW 1/9 14.2
CW 13.10

It’s going to be quite slow but that’s ok. I know the aim of the thread was to post on Mondays so I’ll try and do that from now on. New habit for Oct is stick to 16.8 but concentrate more on healthy choices and increase my daily activity.

Keep going everyone!

blimmy · 30/09/2023 10:58

I've stayed exactly the same this week but I'm just glad not to have gained! I've been a bit off the rails and have had more than I should of wine, bread and snacks!
Happy that the damage wasn't worse but slightly gutted at only one pound off in the last 2 weeks. Must do better next week!

jeomeollibyeoldul · 30/09/2023 14:20

hi again everyone! im still plodding along, was distracted this morning and didnt eat much for lunch, just toast and a porridge pot. cooking tonight thought which means lovely, tasty and nourishing food. then i need to take care of some bits and remember to relax too ... :)

ive identified a need to add more vegetables to my cooking, going to order some carrots/broccoli etc and just add them in to everything! planning on making curry again too so they can go in there. more vitamins and minerals are direly needed.

mellongoose · 01/10/2023 06:37

I'm still here!

I still have the weirdest scales that seem to fluctuate wildly depending on where on the bathroom floor I place them (old house) and whether it's bedtime or morning 🤣

Talking an average, I'm at 13st. I think that's a loss of about 3lb.

My DC birthday party today so will start properly again tomorrow.

Well done 👏 on all the losses so far everyone 😀

mellongoose · 01/10/2023 06:38

*taking not talking!

recklessgran · 01/10/2023 07:27

Morning all. Hope eveyone's having a good weekend. Since my biscuit tin Thursday I've been making up for my transgressions with exemplary low carb/low calorie choices. It's been helped by the fact that it's just DH and I at home this weekend with none of our 5DD's visiting, thereby avoiding homemade fresh cream cakes or the even worse temptation of eating out, Let's hope I can get through today without messing up and show a loss of some sort on the scales tomorrow for our second weigh day. Eyes on the prize as @RedDoughnut reminds us!

RedDoughnut · 01/10/2023 07:59

I'm a daily weigher. I know everyone says not to but I find it helps focus me, if I lose then I feel virtuous and if I gain them I know to try harder.

I'm the same weight as Thursday. I'm out at an event today so this could be interesting when I get on the scales tomorrow morning.

Stay strong everyone. Christmas is in 85 days! 12 weeks to go!

Sorry not posted since beginning 🙈. Been struggling since I hit my 2st award in July. It's been 1 off 1 on etc but I had a cry last week and sorted myself out and got 4 off yesterday! Now at 11st 10lbs
