Good morning on Day 3 everyone

@PinkArt moderately virtuous is still good, perhaps you should skip Bake Off or literally skip when it's on 😀

@triplecheeese. I hope you managed your workout, that's true dedication (or madness 🤣) getting up so early.

@Zebracat ooh nooo, it happens to us all! I've slowed the wagon down so you can jump on.

I'm doing very well with food and walking but I can't seem to fit my exercise routine in unless I do it in the evening, which quite frankly is against my religion. I'll try again today but I'm low on energy so I can't see it happening.

Keep on trying 7/7ers and anyone else on the thread who didn't want to play, I hope today goes well for everyone.

@Zebracat I want toast now you've put it into my head. I've had breakfast, porridge and blueberries but I really really want some toast.

Hello all...I started 7:7 at 159.2 lbs...on Monday with a mild sore throat

I'm now in bed with full on COVID.

I've swerved it for the whole time and had 6 vaccines in total...but bloody hell I feel grim ..

Yesterday did eat , felt hungry..but today ...ugh....no thanks.

I'm more panicking about my half marathon in 12 days time...and as I am very very rarely I'll I have no idea how long I'll feel crap.

Hoping a few days max... anyway bound to be good for weight loss

Sedgwick · 27/09/2023 12:38

@Theredjellybean oh no, rest up as much as you can. I am not a runner but a long race in 12 days seems too much to me even if you don’t get a ‘bad dose’ of covid.

I’ve had a good two days, eating a big bag (200gr) of steamed spinach most nights with roast mushrooms cauliflower and courgettes, piece of chicken or salmon.

Re toast, I find if I have a piece of toast in the morning that’s it, I crave carbs all day and all good intentions disappear.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/09/2023 12:44

@Theredjellybean personally, and I am a runner, I wouldn’t be doing a long race in 12 days time, especially if you are currently feeling grim. I’m sure you know this (you’re a GP aren’t you?) but a lot of long covid stuff is coming out now about women and exercise and in particular the heart rate while exercising, as symptoms of long covid. Rest up and take it easy, it’s a nasty little virus 💐

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/09/2023 12:52

I’ve had a good few days, eating loads of free foods and having very few Syns to undo the weekends excesss , or attempt to. I ran at 6 this morning, felt quite unfit and it’s starting to feel very cold and autumnal here. My food today is largely chicken based, I ate a pitta with chicken and feta and salad for breakfast, I just ate egg fried rice with chicken and peas for lunch, and for dinner I’m doing, yes, you guessed it…. Some chicken with a huge tray of roasted veg so I can then have leftovers tomorrow and Friday. Weigh in tomorrow, again, it’s very hard to tell really whether I’ll have lost or not. I’ve eaten really well on the days I’ve been in plan, but conversely I ate terribly on the days I wasn’t so… 🤷‍♀️

tonight I am making a huge Chelsea FC football shirt birthday cake for ds’s birthday which is Friday. Cake batter is my absolute nemesis, I could genuinely eat a bowlful.

@gluttonousgoldbug i find traybake type meals really good for the family, and if you organise the tray into stripes you can separate all the bits so everyone can have what they like. Chicken, new potatoes, peppers, mushrooms etc. cut a lemon into 4 and put it into each corner and when it’s cooked just squish the lemon into the pan juices to create a sauce/glaze. we also like mince bolognese, then jazz it up for day 2 with some beans and spices for a chilli.

gluttonousgoldbug · 27/09/2023 20:43

@thenewaveragebear1983 tray bake is a Good shout haven't made one for ages. That's going on my list for next weeks dinner. This week is looking like supermarket pizza, curry and freezer fish&chips unfortunately. Been a bit of a rush and cobble it together sort of a week.

Tessisme · 27/09/2023 21:27

Oh no @Theredjellybean! We all had Covid a couple of weeks ago. DP and DS1 were very unwell. DS2 and I escaped with cold symptoms. I wouldn't even have tested, only for the fact that DP was positive. Despite the mild symptoms, I was absolutely wiped. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm not doing too badly with the intermittent fasting. I had to take DS2 for an MRI this morning and needed to fast for 4 hours. He had a bit of a moan and I was thinking 'Four hours? Try sixteen'😆😆 I start eating at midday, but I still eat breakfast as my first meal as I love breakfasty stuff!

Tessisme · 27/09/2023 21:29

Oops - *he needed to fast. Can't edit as am on app!

Sedgwick · 28/09/2023 10:36

In bed last night I realised I could feel my shoulder bone for the first time in years, it must have been buried under fat. Made me think what little thing I am looking forward to when I am at my goal weight. Going down a bra size would be heaven, I hate being this big.

Anyone else have one thing they are really looking forward to?

poorpaws · 28/09/2023 13:05

Oh goodness @Theredjellybean I am so sorry to hear you aren't well. I hope you start to feel better soon but do rest a lot, you don't want long covid 💐

I'm doing ok I think. I managed my exercises yesterday despite not wanting to do them. My middle dog always has to come with me when I start them and yesterday she was nagging at the lounge door almost speaking that I'd better get on with it. 😀

My food has been quite good. As I said previously I'm back on the soup so lunches are easy. I'm still allowing myself a granola bar in the evening as it's my sweet treat and my favourite time of day, 7pm and no earlier (or I'd eat two).

I hope everyone is doing well and we all manage to lose the first pound of the 7/7 challenge by the end of this weekend. Any extra weight loss can go into the Diet Bank for later on when we might be struggling.

Have a good day everyone.

@Sedgwick being a size 12 again is my dream. I have a small frame (covered in fat) and for most of my life I have been size 12 or, more usually, size 10 or 8. When I started this I had to buy size 16 jeans as I had nothing that fitted me and I've been at size 14 for far too long.

I have small boobs and all my adult life I've wanted bigger ones. My stomach however is quite big and I don't have a nice silhouette. I don't suppose many people are happy with their size or shape but a size 12 for me would be heaven (and the main reason I keep slowly plodding on).

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/09/2023 15:51

@Sedgwick my goal that I’m looking forward to is to fit into some of my nicer clothes and not just be trying to find something to cover me up all the time. And to be able to get dressed and actually feel nice and not just ‘ok’ (at best)
I’m not sure how much of that is down to actual physical size, and how much it’s down to self esteem and how I feel in myself. There’s an argument to say if I worked on my self esteem, I could already be where I want to be…. (But deep down, I want to be skinny 😂)

Sedgwick · 28/09/2023 16:22

@thenewaveragebear1983 yeah I get that, I don’t feel me over weight, even if I lived alone on an island I would want to be slim. It would be nice to get rid of the bigger tent clothes.

@poorpaws I don’t think I know what size 12 is anymore, women’s clothing is so unreliable, even the same brand varies from item to item. I do know what measurements I would like to get back to. I am a full 9 inches wider than I was all through my 20s/30s/40s. Pretty shocking.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 29/09/2023 07:14

Morning all. I weighed in at SW last night and had lost a pound, I’m actually quite pleased with that as I had not been on track completely and did feel like I ate a lot.
I don’t feel great today, I have chest ache and generally feel quite bruised and tired. Weird. It’s ds’s birthday so of course we’ve been up since the larks and it’s very exciting.
food should be ok today, I’m going to do a chilli for this evening when family are round, with some hassleback potatoes to use up all the mid size ‘baking potatoes’ I seem to have acquired from my shopping order. Salad and tuna for lunch.

PinkArt · 29/09/2023 10:58

Two pounds back up to 18'1, which was not the plan. But I'm on my period though, fairly unexpectedly, and that always did mad things to the scales. I'm quite deep into peri at the moment and other than April and May it's almost a year since my last one, so I thought that might be it until this week happened.
So another week of lots of vegetables and only a small amount of chocolate is ahead and I'll see if things are hopefully back on track by next week.

Theredjellybean · 29/09/2023 15:06

Well done @thenewaveragebear1983
Monday is a few days off ..not sure how I'll do...COVID is weirdly making me not hungry but eating anyway...crisps mostly

thenewaveragebear1983 · 29/09/2023 16:00

so I called the dr about my weird chest pain and spoke to (another!) gp who again looked through all my notes and given my low heart rate, my chest pain, my tiredness and weird breathlessness, she sent me immediately to A&E and they did 2 ecgs and a round of bloods. Dr I spoke to there said I had a low heart rate ( 🙄) and abnormal beats in my trace, but the bloods showed no cardio markers, so I haven’t had a heart attack or anything like that. They will write to my gp to request a 24 hr ecg reading. It doesn’t however explain my chest ache this morning.

I’m just so tired of feeling crap. I feel really weepy and emotional today, probably from my patches as much as anything, and it’s my ds’s birthday so I want to be just chill and play with him and his new Lego.

PinkArt · 29/09/2023 21:25

@thenewaveragebear1983 I might have asked this before, but have they included d dimer on the blood tests, for possible blood clots? Some of what you've described matches my symptoms when I had a pulmonary embolism.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 29/09/2023 21:59

@PinkArt I don’t know to be honest, they did a full blood count and a heart thing that reads markers for heart attacks. I really do think my chest pain is due to my posture as I’m working from home, I get really uncomfortable and I know I’m not sat correctly, and my heart/palpitations is separate. I hope. They don’t seem worried, anyway, not overly so at least.

Sedgwick · 30/09/2023 10:40

@thenewaveragebear1983 sorry you are so unwell, chest pain and palpitations is horrible.

All good here. Salmon, chickpeas and green veg tonight. Most days I just have milky coffee for breakfast and then dinner at six.

Theredjellybean · 30/09/2023 13:21

morning all wagonners and those who are circling the wagon
I have survived covid with the aid of vast quantities of pepsi max ( only thing i have craved) and ginger ale ...and paracetemol
I have weighed today as DP is taking the scales to our flat in London ..don't ask why ...too convoluted
But despite covid induced family packs of crisps eating..i have lost the 1lb necessary ...so am at 158.4 today
@thenewaveragebear1983 do you have an irregular heart rythm when you have palpitations ? you could behaving paraxoysmal atrial fibrillation.
I would doubt you have a PE or any other clot , as you are able to run and hike ( see earlier beautiful photos) while PEs can be somewhat asymptomatic , no one with a PE or micro clots in lungs would be able to runn/hike up mountains or do exercise classes without significant shortness of breath , due to the increase in oxygen demand these things bring on

Sedgwick · 01/10/2023 10:58

@Theredjellybean glad you are feeling better, have you decided whether to run or not?

@PinkArt I always gained 3 lbs and wore a larger bra when I got my period and it disappeared a week later.

Roast chicken day here. I am keen to have a good weigh in tomorrow so will try and pile my plate with broccoli/cabbage/cauliflower, gravy and chicken breast. My family don’t notice what I have on my plate, it’s kind of funny, it’s been 4 weeks almost and teens haven’t noticed me massively dodging carbs. Self absorbed lot! DH knows because I bore him with it but he is very supportive.

TalkToTheHand123 · 01/10/2023 15:10

Big Sunday lunch today, but managed to avoid pudding. Hoping the pudding avoidance turns into a new habit!

Theredjellybean · 01/10/2023 15:49

I've decided not to run...gutted but I know it's right choice
Plus my dsd has home leave now that weekend and she needs me at home
It's always a balancing act ...my older dd was looking forward to me running with her ...she gets pushed a bit to one side but I do try to support her in other ways.
She and I are going to run the Paris half together in the spring
