I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

Hi Yingers, well done on your weightloss.

I should lose about 2 1/2 stones, but I'd be satisfied at 1.5 to 2 stones. About a year back I lost 2 stones and a bit and have put back on about 10 lbs, which I have been trying to shift with exercise, this alone isn't working. I'm going to try and forget what I've lost before and start a clean page - I'll weigh myself on Monday and (if I'm feeling brave) post my weight and hopefully watch it fall.

I did a high impact step class this morning and normally do another 3 classes a week (at least) and have only shifted approx 3lbs in almost 8 months. The thing is I feel famished after I exercise and 'reward' myself by eating (and drinking) whatever I feel like. My shape has changed, but it is counterproductive doing all the exercise and eating enough to feed a small town.

How have you guys got on today?

I've done well (I think, i have a nagging feeling I've forgotten something significant).

Low fat cereal for breakfast, crispbreads for lunch with low fat philly, zero point soup for dinner with small slice of rye bread. I found some imported jaffa cakes in the deli this afternoon so had to buy them and had 2. I don't remember the points but I know they're quite light. I've just had a plate of carrot/cucumber/celery for supper.

No gym today. Sunday is my day off. Back there in the morning though.

Mum phoned earlier and announced she'd lost a stone - with WW! I didn't mention the fact that I'd stacked on a stone or 3.

Arfishy, you aren't eating enough, surely?

what you ate must have come to about 10 points, which is a starvation diet for anyone who isn't clinically underweight and bed bound!

arfishy · 14/09/2008 22:41

That's what I thought too. So just before bed I crammed in some more jaffa cakes, a hot chocolate and a ham sandwich. Then I got to bed and remembered the nearly 5 points worth of noodles I had.

I know going under doesn't work. Last time I plateaued because I tried to speed things up by dropping 2 points a day.

I do like to save points though. I'm cooking dinner for friends at the weekend and would like to save some points so I'm not the lettuce chaser at the table and can drink plenty of wine.

oddsock · 16/09/2008 16:45

Been busy (but been good!).

Everyone sounds like they're doing really well - it helps you stay keen when you see how well others have done.

If you exercise (not energetic - just 40 mins walk) are you meant to eat all your points for that day or can you still save 4?
Am not eating my exercise points, but have been saving 4points a day too.

Good luck all with this week

PinkPussyCat · 16/09/2008 19:45

Hi guys, 2lbs lost this week Let's hope it keeps on coming off....

I have a question, it's a long shot (but I bet arfishy knows this one) - Anyone know how many points are in a McVities Riva biscuit? Had one at parents' today and they had chucked the packaging... Would love to know!

Hope everyone is well

PinkPussyCat · 16/09/2008 19:54

oddsock

I went onto the online doodah and tried to find out about your 40 mins walking and the number of points you gain is based on your current weight - so I would gain 2 points from a 40 minute brisk walk apparently!

2.5 points PPC

I've carried on with the gym, doing 400 calories a session. Today i had cereal with skimmed milk, 2.5 points, beans on toast, 3.5 points, 2 jaffa cakes (I wish I hadn't bought the damned things now, I keep eating them).

For dinner DD and I ate out. I had steak and salad. It came in a creamy mushroom sauce and chips, which I did my best not to eat. WW "chocolate eclair" for pudding.

Dinner party this weekend, champagne breakfast the following. As soon as I try to lose weight this always happens. BBQ season is just around the corner and it'll be beer and sausage sizzles every weekend

Can you get wasabi peas there? They are my secret weapon. You can eat hundreds of them and they very low in fat/calories. Good for snacking.

PinkPussyCat · 17/09/2008 13:46

That's the last choccy biccy i have for a looong time! But thanks for letting me know. I knew arfishy would have the answer to that one!

How many in a Jaffa Cake then?

PinkPussyCat · 17/09/2008 13:48

Not seen wasabi peas btw... but like the sound of them!

peachespaige · 17/09/2008 13:52

Hello all.
Welcome newbies. Ive not been on for a while.
Well first weigh in was Monday and Ive lost 5lbs!!! But to be fair when I took my starting weight I had af so its probably more of a 3lb loss, but all good anyway. I have been writing everything down and exercising plus ds1 started school so thats an extra walk every day.
Good luck Oi, hope you get the result you want.

peachespaige · 17/09/2008 13:54

Ive tried wasabi nuts and they are lovely but high in points.

arfishy · 18/09/2008 03:01

5lb! That's great.

And wasabi nuts . Not sure but I think wasabi peas can also be called spicy peas in the UK. They'd be in the 'around the world section'.

PPC Jaffa Cakes are 1.5 for two, or 1 point for one (they're midway between .5 point and 1). Aaargh. I want one now .

So far today, cereal & skimmed milk, 2.5 points, zero point soup (once I make a batch I eat it until it's gone which is why I seem to be eating it a lot)& bread, 2 points. 2 jaffa cakes 1.5 points. It's midday so some snacking and dinner to go. I think I might have a glass of wine too, just to keep my hand in .

Off to gym now. I've set a target of 500 cals. Yesterday I burned 300 cals on the treadmill reading a food magazine . I only got distracted and nearly did the embarrassing fall-over and whirr off the end thing once (lemon meringue pie IIRC).

SpinMeRightRound · 18/09/2008 11:50

Oh thats great Dior! I'm supposed to go to weigh-in today but DD broke up yesterday and I don't really want to take her with me. She's nearly 6 and I don't want her thinking about dieting/weight-loss.

Next Friday she'll be at tennis camp so I can go then.

We don't get silver sevens here. We get a 5kg (11lb!) bookmark and then a sticker for every further 5kg. I like silver sevens.

I can't go to the gym today (DD at home) so we're going to go swimming instead. DD has an assessment on Sunday to see if she can join the junior surf lifesavers so we're going to practice.

PinkPussyCat · 19/09/2008 15:22

Well done on those losses Peaches, spinme + dior!

Arfishy - thanks for that! Apologies for planting the 'jaffa cake seed', when I was a student I recall eating whole packets of the things... and I was only about 9 stone! For years! God I hate getting old.

arfishy · 20/09/2008 01:36

Thankfully the jaffa cakes are now gone (straight to my backside I expect). We're off to a friends tonight (Irish and stealth glass fillers) and then a barbeque tomorrow.

I feel a week of working off the damage coming on.

oiwhatsoccurring · 20/09/2008 08:38
