I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

I'm going to my first ww meeting tomorrow.

I have a voucher for free registration but can you tell me how much my meeting will cost?

smrr, they have quite good deals on atm for new members..iir if you join you get a voucher book with £10 off ww foods (Our group all got these last week in error.. ) and if you sign up for the monthly pass (I do this and its worth it as you get a reducted price for the weekly meetings and online access free..) you will also get a free guide. (shoping one I think..)

Good luck

SpinMeRightRound · 27/08/2008 08:59

i'm definately going for the monthly pass, its a great deal.

I'm just dreading my first weigh in. I know roughly how much I weigh but its a different thing to weigh yourself in front of sometime else and admit how much you really weigh.

I know that the leader has seen it all before and there will probably be someone bigger than me, although not by much!

STRESS!

shhhh · 27/08/2008 13:29

remember we have all been there...this is the 1st step to a new you. .
It doesn't matter how big or small you are...how much or little you have to loose as its individual to each one of us...what is a massive 7 lb over weight to one is 70 lb to another.

Good luck tonight and let us know what you think tomorrow.

Im in my 3rd week and im still excited about loosing weight as I was during my 1st. I am now at a place where i want to loose weight.

xx

SpinMeRightRound · 27/08/2008 14:38

Thanks for your reply.

I am excited but at the same time I worry that i'll just fall off the wagon never to get on again as I've tried to lose this weight countless times before.

I'm going to fpc straight after class to see about getting my implant removed as I don't think it helps at all. Okay so I know I can't blame it all on that, eating crap is the main cause! But if taking it out helps then I'll give it a go.

If they can find it in there that is!

peachespaige · 27/08/2008 16:42

Hi all.
Just wondered if I could ask you a question.
If I was to count points would I have to cook my spab bol, chilli con carne etc seperately? How would i weigh the right amount of mince once its mixed with the other ingrediants?
I really dont want to cook seperate meals.
Thanks

shhhh · 27/08/2008 21:00

I know what you mean about falling off the wagon...

I started sw in Jan and was so determined (like now) to be slim for ds's christening in July...............Hmm..........in 6 months I lost............6 lbs. I was comitted but tbh as I had done sw around 7 years ago I was a bit bored and needed more of a challenge. Thats where ww came in. .

I can honestly say I have stuck to it 110%. I have had x2 saturday where I have gone out for a meal and had a take away BUT I saved hard all week points wise. I guess I am now in a place where I know I want to and can do it.

Dh & I would like to start trying for baby 3 come next Feb09 when ds will be 2 and dd nearly 4 and I don't want to have baby3 and end up another stone heavier. My track record has seen me end up a stone heavier after each lo and I refuse to be heavier in 2 years time iykiwm....
I have told dh that its his choice BUT I WON'T be trying for another till I AM AT GOAL . He is really helping me and is full of encouragement.Support is good.

So smrr, support will definatly be here for you............

About the inplant, imo yes I would get rid of it. When I met dh 11 years ago and started on the pill it coinsided with me gaining around 1.5 stones...When we decided to start trying for lo's around 8 years ago I stopped taking it and never looked back...I have never gone back onto it and doubt I ever will....each to their own but it never seemed to suit me.

Hope tonight goes well. x

Peaches, you can either cook seperatly ( I do as I bulk up on free veg like mushrooms, toms etc) and measure the meat out OR cook as a whole meal working out points for whole amount and then divide the meal into how many portions iykiwm.

SpinMeRightRound · 27/08/2008 21:28

Well it went ok, the leader is lovely and its a reasonable size class.

So best foot forward and all that

As for the implant, I have to go and see the doctor that put it in as... I can't feel it under all of my flab and if she can't find it then I'll have to have a scan to locate it!

peachespaige · 28/08/2008 09:17

Thanks Shhhh. Ive been messing around with sw for ages and am back to where I started!
I did ww a few years ago and lost the amount that I wanted to by counting points.
The problem is I cant make the classes as they clash with my Body Attack classes which I love and dont want to give them up!
I remember I was allocated 21 points last time, Im 11.5 stone and 5ft6. I think Ive got a very old book here somewhere, would the the amount of points in food have changed that dramatically?
Mabe I could get the books cheap on Amazon.
Its my 30th Birthday in just over 6 weeks and I want to have lost 10 or so pounds by then.
Can I join you all?

shhhh · 29/08/2008 13:34

peaches, you are welcome here anytime .

imo, I would get the upto date ww books..Im not sure how much if anything the plan has changed BUT its changed slightly since I did it around 10 years ago....
Not sure points wise etc BUT they have now introduced a core plan which is like sw imo..

Can you not join ww just to get the books etc and do it alone..? Or join online..? Or is there not another group even if it means you travelling a little further.? Just that imo I find I do better when I have a weekly meeting. Keeps me focused and although I never stayed to sw meetings I have been doing the ww ones and think its helping me.

They have also changed the way in which points are worked out...Now they take into account your weight, how active your job is,your age etc....

peachespaige · 30/08/2008 08:42

Oh. I should try and find another meeting then. Ill have a look. Thanks

Mine · 30/08/2008 12:31

The monthly pass is brilliant, as yolu get a lot of the info from the books online. I rarely, if ever, refer to the books anymore as i can just tap in what i'm looking for... ingredients, recipes etc and its all just there.

Best £17 or so a month ever.

SpinMeRightRound · 30/08/2008 12:46

I have a monthly pass and i love the esource online.

I don't have to make sure I have change for class as its already paid for and have the bonus of support online.

Its been fab so far but then again I'm only on day 3!!

shhhh · 30/08/2008 15:33

I agree about monthly, means I don't have to find money each week .

good luck dior . The fact you have walked loads and kind of kept to things iykiwm while away is a good thing.

I forgot to post my results for this week....!

I lost 2 lbs! Wow..! So in 4 weeks im past my silver 7 at 7.7 lbs .

shhhh · 03/09/2008 14:06

Hello all....

Do you have room for one more on here?

I am going to start WW online on Monday, not really sure how much I have to lose (as they don't seem to let you work that out until you've gone through the sign-up process lol!)

I did the points diet online about 4 years ago and it worked really well, and am actually looking forward to doing it again. Though things might be a little more tricky as have ds in tow now!

Anyhoo... am actually on holiday at the moment so intend to enjoy the rest of it while I still can! Will report back with target weight etc on good ol' Monday.

peachespaige · 03/09/2008 16:15

Hello.
Congrats Dior!
Well Shhh I got the new Swtch book and my points are different, they've gone from 20 to 23 even though Im at the same starting weight as I was when I first did it! They calculate the points differently and Im more active running around after 2 boys now!
Im off to Cornwall with a friend on Friday for a couple of nights, not long but those pastys sure add up!
Ill start properly on Monday although am following the plan until I go.
Quick question. 30g of Cornflakes dont fill me up, how many can i have for 2 points? Ive got the point calculator but no Cornflake box!

peachespaige · 03/09/2008 16:17

Congrats to you too Shhh!!! Hi PinkPussyCat, Im starting properly on Monday too.

SpinMeRightRound · 03/09/2008 16:23
