Anyone improving their health following the Glucose Goddess hacks?

I'm putting this in Weight Loss Chat for traffic, because it's not about losing weight. I'm currently reading the GG book and finding it really interesting, because I've recently had blood tests show I might be insulin resistance and pre-pre-diabetic. My symptoms are many, but the worst are chronic energy slumps and needing daytime naps to recalibrate. Suddenly I'm very aware that my health is on its way to be compromised, if it's not already, so I'm looking at ways to improve it, and was wondering if anyone else has followed the GG hacks and felt better for it?

My hunger is really reduced today. I had a bowl of veg (with 4g miso butter) about an hour ago as a veggie starter and I just don't want to eat anymore at the moment...

Thanks for the detail. I am still not clear from zoe whether it is reducing the spike or reducing the a1c (area under the curve) which is more important to long term health. Does anyone know?

I'm noticing my hunger has abated too! I thought it was just because I had a stodgy meal last night and was still full but after I had breakfast at 10am it was gone 2pm before I felt remotely peckish and then I didn't want much. Lunch was very light. For someone who was a constant snacker it's been quite revelatory to notice!

It is all a very pleasant change @Inkpotlover ! The power of eating right!

I'm having a break from the challenges today (got up late). The standard 5 day challenge will cover moving after meals (day 4), clothing foods (day 3) and food ordering (day 5). I'm going to try and a ACV challenge too at some point. I can't say I'm massively motivated to do these (as the GG graphs were enough evidence for me, especially as there have been no surprises in mine so far) but as I have the CGM on it seems like a waste not to finish what I started...

Morning! I got up late again (really need to sort out my sleep!).
I'm going to take a MN break for a few weeks - realised I am procrastinating on here too much! Just wanted to pop on an wish you all well with your GG journey (I am very much sold on it!) 🤗

Sometimes it is better to just crack without distraction. Good luck with it all!

How are you all getting on?

I've finished my second week and have sort of come to terms with the vinegar!

I'm definitely not as hungry, and even when I am, it feels like manageable hunger rather than a craving.

I've settled with yoghurt for breakfast as well.

Veggie starters this week, which I'm looking forward to. If nothing else it's got me thinking about nice ways to eat vegetables, which is surely a good thing!

Hello - ok if I join?

I am trying this too. Have had the book for a while but read the beginning at the weekend and have started with week one. I do tend to have either Greek yoghurt and berries and seeds for breakfast or eggs so not finding that difficult. Although yesterday I was in a hurry and just grabbed what I assumed would work and had two Ryvita crackers with cottage cheese and was hungry all day.

I am also on Ozempic and have lost three stone but I know going forward I need a plan to control hunger and blood sugars. So I’m trying this along with a two week trial of Noom. Which is annoying me as they reckon a large apple is more filling than 12 almonds. So I won’t be continuing with that once my two weeks are up.

Depending on how this goes I may sign up for Zoe but will wait a while. I seem to have spent a fortune on weight related issues now!

@Peridot1 Hi!

DarthSaver · 16/08/2023 19:03

Welcome @Peridot1 nice to have you joining us!

I had a handful of sugar snap peas while making lunch and a lentil, carrot, fennel salad while making dinner- all delicious!

DarthSaver · 19/08/2023 08:20

How's it going all?

I've been really enjoying my veggie starters and definitely feeling more full generally.

When I'm tired and/or hungry, it doesn't have the 'edge' of feeling desperate for sugar to give me a boost and I'm just ok with being tired and/or hungry!

I'm eating better as well. Less processed food and more vegetables. I must be easily eating 30 different plants per week.

I still don't love the vinegar but I'm getting used to it

I've not lost any weight, which isn't my main driver for it at all, so not too surprising but just in case anyone was interested because they wanted to try it for that reason.

I hope you've all continued to find it useful, whatever your particular goal for it is.

Hi, I've been going slowly with this cause I had a bit of a bad stomach last week. I've managed a savoury breakfast every day. I bought the AVC tablets from Holland & Barrett and took one before my lunch today. I then ate. I've got a horrible burning at the back of my throat and I can still taste it a bit, is this normal?

Inkpotlover · 14/09/2023 18:09

Just checking in after the summer, which saw me v. v. v. loosely follow the hacks! The one I've maintained throughout is the savoury breakfast - Greek yoghurt, a few berries and nut butter swirled in. I absolutely love it! Now it's September I'm having a month off alcohol and am following the other hacks more religiously, including slowly reintroducing ACV - I'm just having one glass a day for now though.

How is everyone else getting on?
