Fast 800 - anyone fancy an accountability chat?

Hello,

I’m day 2 on fast 800 and posting on here for accountability. I’m doing this mainly as a bit of a panic, last resort to try and drop a little bit of weight before we go away later in August. I’ve tried calorie counting etc but I think the strict nature of the Fast 800 is what I need as there’s no wiggle room for me which can often lead to a binge and falling off the diet wagon!

Anyone else fairly early on in their fast 800 journey and want to join in on here?

Day 1 for me was tough but I survived. Was starving most of the day but just tried to drink loads and loads of water.

I'll join you! I will start tomorrow and accountability will help as I struggle to stay on track with it.

I ideally need to lose weight before surgery so I have a big reason for sticking with it and I actually enjoy the recipes.

I have the 8-week blood sugar, fast800 easy & fast800 keto books and mix and match recipes from all 3.

Canterbury58 · 25/07/2023 09:49

Brilliant! Good to have a buddy to go through this with.

I’m really struggling with hunger today. Just had an omelet which hasn’t even touched the sides! Hoping my appetite reduces as I get more used to less calories.

Might be worth increasing protein/fat up to 900-1000 to help reduce hunger pangs the first few days? An extra egg or tinned tuna?

Canterbury58 · 25/07/2023 11:46

I think I’m not managing the individual macros well enough so probably don’t have enough protein in there. Although my breakfast was egg based so surely my hunger should’ve diminished a bit.

How are you feeling about starting tomorrow?

OP posts:
Fast800keto · 25/07/2023 12:53

Feeling determined & hopeful I can stay on track. I definitely need to track my protein to get enough each day.

Canterbury58 · 25/07/2023 15:08

That’s great! I’m really hopeful I can stay on track. Got some possible hot spots coming up over the next few weeks where it would be easy for me to fall off the wagon but need to keep motivated.

I have friends coming at the weekend so will do beef Stroganoff with lots of green veggies on the side and rice for everyone else.

Fast800keto · 26/07/2023 09:06

Grocery shopping today. I eat twice a day so will post each day what I've eaten if that's ok. It will hopefully keep me on track.

How are you feeling today?

Canterbury58 · 26/07/2023 13:15

Very proud I’ve done 2 days! So far 2lbs down.

Still struggling with hunger but hoping this will subside soon. Headache symptoms have appeared today, need to drink more I think.

Twice a day is a good idea. What will your window be between meals?

OP posts:
Fast800keto · 26/07/2023 15:12

Normally do lunch around noon and dinner at 6 so a 6-7 hour eating window. I do have a coffee with a little milk in the morning outside this window.

Fast800keto · 26/07/2023 17:38

Day 1 done:

2 coffees with milk
2 black tea
Mushroom stuffed with boursin and tin of mackerel in tomato sauce
2 sausages with lots of leeks
Totals 900 cals, 47g protein and 13g carbs

Not enough water today or enough veg!

Canterbury58 · 26/07/2023 21:06

That looks like a fab first day!

Day 3 done for me:

798 calories
61g carbs
41g protein

Breakfast: blueberries, strawberries and almonds

Lunch: cucumber, red pepper and feta salad with 2 boiled eggs. Apple and a pear afterwards.

Dinner: pork and leeks, Greek yog and berries afterwards

My carb intake is still way too high due to eating fruit. I really need to reduce it!!

Fast800keto · 26/07/2023 21:36

Your food sounds yum today.

I've resisted the urge to snack tonight. DP has his mates round for beer and snacks. I've watched TV and stuck to my water. That's a big win

Canterbury58 · 27/07/2023 08:45

-3lbs since starting on Monday. Really pleased I’ve stuck to this for 3 days and feels like my hunger has subsided a bit.

Going to see if I can just have 2 meals today and slightly less fruit.

How are you feeling today? Well done on the not snacking! I find that so difficult in the evenings so find myself just going to bed.

That's a great start. I realised I forgot to weigh yesterday so will use today's weight as my start.

I have taken food from freezer for today and tomorrow to make it easy but both are homemade so no idea of calories, protein or carb count - but should be fine carb wise. Frittata and salad for lunch and veggie chilli for dinner. So plenty of veg today and I probably need to add some extra protein to make sure I get enough.

Today's goal is to drink 2L water and not snack. I have put a colouring in book next to the sofa to distract my mind from snack thoughts!

Oh, and go for a walk.

Fast800keto · 27/07/2023 10:16

Glad your hunger has reduced. I rarely feel physically hungry but struggle with emotional eating and urges to eat. If I can overcome this side of it then I should be good.

Canterbury58 · 27/07/2023 11:30

Your day of food sounds delicious! I just made lunch for my toddler and the urge to steal some of her food was so strong 😣

I’m definitely an emotional eater. I see food as a ‘treat’ when I feel like I’ve had a difficult or sad day. Need to find alternative ‘treats’ really that aren’t linked to food.

I’ve got a confession to make, I’m still drinking Diet Coke on this diet! 😬 On a Facebook I'm in for Fast 800 it’s a big no no but I want this way of eating to be sustainable so I didn’t want to go cold turkey from everything at once.

Just here to cheer you both on. I was going to say that's a lot of fruit OP! I'm type 1 diabetic so can't do Fast 800 but I did read the book. I'm doing IF 14:10 but need more calories (aim for 1500, but eat closer to 1600) due to the diabetes.
Good luck on both your journies! Great results so far which will keep you motivated!

Canterbury58 · 27/07/2023 12:46

Thank you for cheering us on 😀

I have such a sweet tooth so I’m using fruit as a chocolate replacement I think. However today I haven’t had fruit yet! My carbs for the day look nice and low so far 😊

Interestingly I signed up to Zoe a while ago and had my blood’s responses to sugar and fat tested. Weirdly, my results showed me a tolerate sugar better than fat!

Fast800keto · 27/07/2023 21:05

Thanks for your support @mondaytosunday and glad you can follow IF that suits your situation.

@Canterbury58 totally agree with finding a sustainable way. I will be more flexible on rare days I'm eating out but just try to be sensible and get back on track the next day. I tend to stick with water, tea and coffee but may have the very occasional wine

Canterbury58 · 28/07/2023 09:03

Ended yesterday on 775 calories
47g protein
15g carbs

Lunch was a feta cheese omelette with hummus and olives on the side
Dinner was lemon chicken from fast 800 book with green beans and broccoli. After dinner I had half an apple, a handful of blueberries and some peanut butter.

Hunger was definitely better yesterday but it’s back very high this morning! Scales were another 1.5lbs down.

How are you today?

OP posts:
Fast800keto · 28/07/2023 12:23

Oh that's fantastic! I've lost 2lb in 2 days and just had lunch of frittata, tomatoes and gherkin with some apple cider vinegar & olive oil dressing.

Last night's veggie chilli was yum. Had a sprinkle of cheddar and spoon of sour cream. Not enough for tonight though so will have beef stroganoff tonight and over the weekend.

Did a 40-min walk yesterday too, but still not enough water. No idea why I find it so hard to remember to drink.

Canterbury58 · 28/07/2023 18:18

Oooo I love the sound of a veggie chilli. Where is the recipe from?

Tonight it’s a takeaway as I’ve been out all day and we have family over. Going to go for chicken shish with no pitta and loads of salad. Panicking a bit as if I see a gain on the scales tomorrow I’ll feel really demotivated.

OP posts:
Fast800keto · 28/07/2023 20:14

I made up the recipe with veg that needed using up. I used a mix of pinto and red kidney beans, onions, carrots and tin of tomatoes with cumin, garlic and chilli flakes. Was out of freezer so hadn't weighed ingredients so no idea of calories, protein and carbs but next time I'll weigh and count!

Don't worry about weight tomorrow - a chicken shish and salad without the Pitts sounds a perfect Fast800 choice.

Fast800keto · 28/07/2023 20:25

I've managed 2L water today and a 30 walk.
