Quickmeds have 1mg pens available, first time for ages. £295 though.

MotherofTerriers · 13/07/2023 18:12

arrgghh missed them!

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 13/07/2023 19:07

Missed them too. Has anyone used Bury Healthcare online pharmacy? I have put in an order (0.25mg) but they didn’t ask anything about my medical history and they want payment by bank transfer. Seems suspicious to me

I've used them, no issues at all.

Anyone on Juniper 1mg pens....have you noticed a change?

I've been on 1mg for 3/4 months. My most recent pen arrived 2 weeks ago. For the first time I have not lost any weight and my hunger has really increased...on top of that I have had side effect vomiting. Has anyone else been experiencing this sudden change?

Has the packaging changed? I noticed the juniper pen I got has different packaging and a note saying they’re sourcing it outside of the uk. Not sure if that’s a new change since I was using quickmeds before.

Howdoidoit100 · 14/07/2023 06:46

No, I don't think the packaging has changed. I am just having a different reaction to this new pen. I think I'm going to contact them.

Goodgriefisitginfizzoclock · 14/07/2023 07:25

I am 12 weeks in don’t know weight loss as going from clothing which is a less depressing way of measuring for me was an 18 now a 16 I would say. The last three weeks I have felt awful just very meh, sick and so so tired. I’m not sure I can continue, have just been delivered 1 dose pen but scared to take, took one week off(week 10-11) to go away as didn’t want to feel unwell abroad (only 4 nights) did feel better but also could nap as on holiday !? didn’t realise would be upped in dose with delivery that came this week, I don’t engage with the app so it probably did tell me. If I come off for a while to establish it’s def side affects can I return and maybe take 0.5 out of my new pens does that sound feasible ?

WeightInLine · 14/07/2023 07:53

@Goodgriefisitginfizzoclock You would probably benefit from taking a more methodical approach to this, reading all the information and being honest with yourself. It’s a big deal for your body - you need to do the research to make it successful. It sounds as though you are not really engaging.

It’s a weight loss issue - you need to get on the scales. Weigh yourself even if you are tracking by clothes size, you should do both. Are you tracking calories/nutrition? Make sure you are keeping below your calorie TDEE. Your exhaustion might be because you were not getting enough protein. Again, track your food in an app like My Fitness Pal. Yes, it takes a bit of effort but might help you identify food issues such as what triggers nausea. Water - are you drinking enough?

Research and read. This is part of re-educating out of bad habits and into good ones. It is a bit of an effort but you don’t want to sabotage yourself because you are refusing to get into the details. Apply some science to what you are doing and you will see results. Good luck.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 14/07/2023 09:09

We are off on holidays today so 4 days of eating out and no access to scales. Will be aiming for making the best choices possible and being as active as possible to try to combat the extra calories.
Anticipating some gain though.

14stone 10lb this morning, started 16stone 8lb on 1st April.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 14/07/2023 12:19

@FatAgainItsLettuceTime Have a great time and try not to worry about it. I went on a week long "girls holiday" in June anticipating gain but it was fine, I actually lost more that week than normal despite plenty of little treats, wine and nice meals out (some I couldn't finish so sometimes I just had a starter). I did focus on protein and had plenty of water + did lots of walking. (TMI: I think the slightly richer food + all the walking helped with my awful constipation.)

Teddypops · 14/07/2023 17:22

Is anyone here who has been on it for a number of months and finding there are days before you inject where you are so so hungry you worry you will faint? I do worry that when I try to wean myself off this it is going to be really hard.

I have a 3 month supply of 1mg and will continue on after if I can buy it. But I am wondering that coming off it is going to be incredibly difficult.

Anyone weaning themselves off due to supply issues?

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 14/07/2023 18:00

Quick meds have some stock.

MotherofTerriers · 14/07/2023 18:06

All gone by the time I did the consultation! I wish they had a repeat buy button

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 14/07/2023 18:10

It appeared at about five to six. I was refreshing the page. They have taken down the information about slots being released at 6 I notice.

MotherofTerriers · 14/07/2023 18:14

Thanks for the tip @SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun
I'll try to be quicker next time - I just wish it didn't make you input so much info for a repeat - my weight might have changed but unlikely my hight has!

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 14/07/2023 18:17

I know - and all the explaining about how much you drink and what meds you are on.

AlwaysGreen · 14/07/2023 20:14

Which spare needles have you ordered? I had saved one pen (Glucorx Carepoint Diabetic Insulin Pen Tips 32G x 4 mm (100 Pcs/Box) + Free Tetra-Sole Safe Travel Pouch) but reading the reviews it said not for ozempic double twist. thanks

wearesuceeding · 14/07/2023 20:56

I know quickmeds has said the price will come down when supply demand settles, but do you think it will?

I feel I am currently outpriced so will have to put any pen orders on hold Confused

I hope so but it may take a while and some competition coming to the market. I don’t know whether to reduce my dose to make what I have last longer. My worry is that it just will stop working. I was hoping to go up a dose with Wegovy but obviously that is on hold. I have been plateauing for a while but am giving the diet a bit of a push at the moment so am losing again but I do worry about what would happen to my appetite if I stopped or cut down on the Ozempic.

I don’t think the price will come down. It doesn’t need to. I reckon even the people complaining that they won’t pay £300, actually most of them will try to find a way if they can.

Demand hugely outstrips supply, and as more people hear about others successfully losing weight, then they’ll want to join in. Somebody somewhere must have worked out that £200-300 is about market rate, but given how desperate people are to get hold of it, it’s obvious that they could charge more.

Having said that, hopefully they hold at these prices and this is part of a long term strategy to do with people needing ozempic for life. £2,400- £3,600 a year seems at the top end for someone to maintain weight rather than lose.

I could justify £500 for a pen now but couldn’t justify that for life. I wouldn’t be so motivated to pay once I was at goal weight. It definitely feels like a fat tax!

However, I might be being naive about being able to maintain without it. I never have in the past. Loads of us will probably pile the weight back on without ozempic.

MiniCooperLover · 15/07/2023 08:31

Teddypops, are you still eating well? What types of foods are you eating? It sounds like your blood sugars are going a bit crazy.
