Hi all,
May I hop on and join you?
I'm three months into MyJuniper. Started on 0.25, then they moved me up to 0.5.
0.5 is working really well for me so I asked to stay on this dose. It's £225pcm which is obviously a lot for anyone but I am so heartily sick of being an overweight person and this is making all the difference to me.
I'm eating largely 'Zoe-ish' (although I haven't done Zoe and do have some Options hot choc and Mini Magnums as treats) and am logging all my calories in the Nutracheck app. Averaging about 1600 per day.
I've joined a gym and am trying to build up my exercise - although that's a bit hit and miss.
I've lost a stone in three months and need to lose another stone to get my BMI to 25.
I am prepared to do this - eat really healthily, track my calories and exercise - for life. I'm a meticulous nerd when it comes to finances and budgeting and it occurs to me that there is a parallel here. That eating whatever you feel like without any sort of 'budget' and hoping to be within the healthy BMI range is like having a chaotic and unplanned attitude to finances - and hoping that you'll accidentally spend within your means every month, It may come easily and naturally to some people, depending on their individual circumstances and make-up but for me food clearly needs conscious management.
I am slightly worried about what happens when I reach my healthy weight. I don't think MyJuniper just kick you out - I think they might move me to a 'maintenance dose' or taper me off. At 57, having been overweight since puberty, I just want to be a normal BMI/ size 12 forever. If it means paying MyJuniper £225 pcm for life for a low 'maintenance dose' I might be prepared to do it and do without other things. This is life-changing for me.
