I can also imagine that taking it can lead to low sugar level, in turn increasing anxiety.

nebulae · 11/07/2023 18:13

Quick meds have put the price up again, £295 now.

MotherofTerriers · 11/07/2023 18:31

Still no stock though!

nebulae · 11/07/2023 18:36

They had the 0.5mg pens when I looked earlier, still no 1mg pens though.

Athena51 · 11/07/2023 18:50

I bet the price won't go down as quickly as it went up when supply improves - like petrol!

MotherofTerriers · 11/07/2023 18:51

I'm not paying nearly £300 for a 0.5 pen! That would be £600 a month

Athena51 · 11/07/2023 18:55

UsernameFail · 11/07/2023 12:33

That sounds quite scary feeling depressed and anxious due to medication.

I can't remember if it was this group or the other but I find Mel on IG cgo (underscore) of (underscore) me really helpful

She's posted about how the tiredness is linked to lack of food. She also recommends eating 1800 calories to lose weight.

Thanks for the name of that IG account, there aren't many accounts who talk so helpfully about losing weight with Ozempic etc. I wish I'd found it a while ago. I'll be interested to see her experience of coming off it.

Oh my lord...
4 weeks with zero side effects on 0.75mg and bam I've been on and off the loo all day and had the most horrific sulphur burps all day, I've been totally zapped of energy all day.
I'm on my holidays at the minute, I did have an "offish" day yesterday and had a plain sugar doughnut with a coffee mid morning, salad for lunch, small chicken stir fry for dinner and then a small toasted teacake as a snack around 8pm. So more carbs than I've had in a long while. I did manage to drink about 3.5 litres of water yesterday as well. I'm more convinced it's been the egg noodles in the stir fry that haven't agreed with me. Stir fry has been my go to for the last few weeks just minus the noodles and been fine. Windeze has been my friend today👍

Popping up to say hi. I’m 24.6lb down which I’m thrilled with, losing at about 1-1.5lb a week since mid April.

Had a Diet Coke for the first time on ozempic and I felt dreadful- very sick and hugely bloated to the point I looked pregnant.

off on holiday tomorrow to an all inclusive so just going to be sensible and keep my activity levels up (I’m an oddball who likes to go to the gym on holiday) and take it from there. I’m fitting into some shorts from years ago which is a great feeling.

Hi all,

May I hop on and join you?

I'm three months into MyJuniper. Started on 0.25, then they moved me up to 0.5.

0.5 is working really well for me so I asked to stay on this dose. It's £225pcm which is obviously a lot for anyone but I am so heartily sick of being an overweight person and this is making all the difference to me.

I'm eating largely 'Zoe-ish' (although I haven't done Zoe and do have some Options hot choc and Mini Magnums as treats) and am logging all my calories in the Nutracheck app. Averaging about 1600 per day.

I've joined a gym and am trying to build up my exercise - although that's a bit hit and miss.

I've lost a stone in three months and need to lose another stone to get my BMI to 25.

I am prepared to do this - eat really healthily, track my calories and exercise - for life. I'm a meticulous nerd when it comes to finances and budgeting and it occurs to me that there is a parallel here. That eating whatever you feel like without any sort of 'budget' and hoping to be within the healthy BMI range is like having a chaotic and unplanned attitude to finances - and hoping that you'll accidentally spend within your means every month, It may come easily and naturally to some people, depending on their individual circumstances and make-up but for me food clearly needs conscious management.

I am slightly worried about what happens when I reach my healthy weight. I don't think MyJuniper just kick you out - I think they might move me to a 'maintenance dose' or taper me off. At 57, having been overweight since puberty, I just want to be a normal BMI/ size 12 forever. If it means paying MyJuniper £225 pcm for life for a low 'maintenance dose' I might be prepared to do it and do without other things. This is life-changing for me.

@LSGX

I'm amazed you were prescribed it for being 2 stone over a BMI of 25.

But welcome anyway. I hope you get to your goal very soon. I think when you stop your appetite will come back so now is the time to learn good behaviours that you will need the will power to stick to.

greylad · 12/07/2023 09:33

That could easily mean someone in the obese category.

I'm short. My BMI was 30 so I guess I just made the cut.

And I have high cholesterol, which I'm hoping to get down.

CaptinKitty · 12/07/2023 10:29

I’ve been on Ozempic since the 18th of March and hit 2 stone weight loss today.

Upped my dose to 1mg 3 weeks ago, but can’t find any more 1mg pens for love nor money at the moment! Managed to order a 0.5mg pen yesterday via quickmeds, which isn’t ideal (especially with the price increase!), but not left with much option.

I have one more dose of 1mg in my current pen. So my plan is to inject 0.5 this week, 1mg next week, 0.5mg the week after that and then see what the supply issue looks like. Hopefully that should tide me over without too much hunger coming back. DH and I are also having a week off from parenting next week (thank you in-laws!), so the lower dose may also allow me to enjoy the various eating out plans we have a little more, because currently I can only manage a starter at the very most at each meal!

MotherofTerriers · 12/07/2023 11:02

Well done, 2 stone is brilliant
I've been on it since 10th April and have lost just over a stone. But I had very little appetite suppression until I got to 1mg. A steady 1lb a week is fine, I've got a couple of stones to go to no longer be obese

Sammysees · 12/07/2023 19:04

I had an email from Manual today to say they still can’t offer me 1mg and I have to stay on 0.5. Not only that but it will cost £250. This will be my 3rd pen at 0.5 and I did one pen at 0.25. Weight loss is positive - 36lbs since April 1st. I have a lot to lose - 10 stone so a long way to go. I will suck up the £250 for 3 months and then rethink. They also offered me Trulicity at £169 but I don’t know anything about it as I’ve only researched Ozempic. A quick google seems to point out that 30% of people put ON weight. Has anybody else researched it?

SarahC50 · 12/07/2023 20:05

Hi with the 1mg pens does anyone know how many doses of 1mg you get in a pen and if there are any spare lower doses. Thanks

mumwheresmyribena · 12/07/2023 21:18

@SarahC50 The .5 and the 1mg pens only hold enough for 4 of their stated doses. It's only the 0.25 that holds extra doses.

SmileLikeUMeanIt · 12/07/2023 23:23

I've been on it for 4 months now and lost 40lb so far. I'm currently on 0.8mg so I get 5 doses from a pen and stretching doses to between 8 and 10 days. I've only got 8 injections left so I'm really hoping they come down in price, can't justify paying 300 a month.

TheGoodEnoughWife · 13/07/2023 06:14

How many clicks for 0.8 please? I am thinking of doing the same.

greylad · 13/07/2023 08:24

Well, I have been on 0.75 for eight weeks and this week I haven’t felt much appetite suppression and this morning have had a weekly gain on the scales. I guess it’s time to head up to 1.0 which I have been trying to put off as long as possible.

SarahC50 · 13/07/2023 09:28

@mumwheresmyribena thankyou that's good to know. I was trying to plan for winter and eeking down the doses once I'm hopefully at target. Lost barely anything in the last eight weeks on 0.5mg and I stupidly did an extra month at this dose as I'm worried about side effects. Hoping once on 1mg the therapeutic dose I'll start losing decent amounts again as I have plenty to lose!

@greylad I go up to 1mg on Wednesday when are you moving up?

SmileLikeUMeanIt · 13/07/2023 12:14

I do 56 clicks. I also mark the pen wheel where 56 clicks is so I don't need to count every time.

TheGoodEnoughWife · 13/07/2023 16:57
