Morning ladies, here is the new thread. Sorry its a bit late.

My intentions this month are to carry on with the meditation and daily exercise. I've just ordered some 1.5kg weights off Amazon, tbh my arms and core are quite weak, but planning on building in a couple of quick weights work outs.

Weight wise I'm half a pound down (I think) this month, a bit of weight off would be nice, but we'll see how it goes.

@mikado1 that it is amazing. Can I ask when you say you gave up sugar and flour, does this include not eating fruit or pasta anymore as well? You must be so happy. On the weights front, I have recently bought some 1.5kg dumbells (not very heavy I know) and have been doing weights with them, following a coupple of youtube videos.

Yes it includes pasta but not fruit, tho I am opting for berries over other fruits as low GI. The whole thing means my blood sugars are probably really stable so no spikes or cravings etc.
Thanks LBB! I've got a peace with it that I didn't predict and I'm 'on it' more in life in general. So many all round benefits to it.

Just a quick hi. I’ve lost just over a stone overall in the last couple of months so definitely going in right direction but with ups and downs inevitably.

Good to catch up on how people are doing and all the different approaches people adopt.

Octopus45 · 19/05/2023 07:59

Lovely to see you @swallowedAfly , over a stone loss is absolutely amazing. I was thinking about you the other day. Is your Son doing GCSE's at the moment? I seem to remember he is about the same age as my eldest.

You all sound like you are doing so well!
I’ve had an ok week been to the gym 3 times and will go again over the weekend, food has been a bit hit and miss (some good days and a couple of not so good ones!). It looks like the weather should be nice over the weekend so will hopefully get some steps in too!

swallowedAfly · 20/05/2023 06:13

Yes he is octopus! Build up very stressful but now they’re underway it’s a bit of a relief. How’s it going for you?

Octopus45 · 20/05/2023 09:18

@swallowedAfly he's doing ok thanks, seems to be taking it in his stride. Its definitely a relief that they're underway. He turns 16 on Friday.

74.7kg this morning. That is a half kg gain in the past week. However I was on holiday for a few days and definitely overate, by quite a lot sometimes! I was a lot more than that on Saturday morning (got home on Friday). I've done pretty well with food since then. Most importantly I'm feeling good emotionally about food.

Also went shopping and saw some clothes in Tesco. I bought a medium and it fits perfectly!

Octopus45 · 26/05/2023 08:01

Hope you had a good holiday @ScottishBeth .

I'm not doing very well weight wise this month, but have been keeping up my morning meditation and short morning work outs. Its my Son's 16th today so we'll be going out for a meal later. Happy Friday all

@Octopus45 did you enjoy the meal out?

We had a lovely holiday - really enjoyed it.

I was 72.4kg this morning. That is a substantial weight loss since last week (74.7!). But that'll have been artificially high from the holiday. Still, it is the first time I've weighed in at below 74 so I'm delighted. I've reached my next mini-target which was 73.6; that was a 10% weight loss. So that's really good.

The target I set at the beginning of the year was 69.8kg so I'm getting close to that and beginning to think about that. I will still be overweight at that weight, and my waist is currently 85cm, which is still in the high risk category. It now seems achievable to get to a healthy weight, which I think is about 66kg. So I think I'll keep going to reach a healthy weight. I'll have a think and over the next few weeks set proper goals and things.

But it is going well!
