Hi all. Just spotted the previous thread filled up so thought I’d start a new one quickly.

@user1480930113 - yes you can get twice as long out of the pen. The .25 and the .5 actually have the same amount of medication in them. Although I have to say I’m surprised you have even been prescribed it at the moment with the shortages. It’s not the best time to start on it really.

That's me had the dreaded email saying the plan was going up. I've cancelled as they're still only offering 0.5 and I'm I've only lost 2lbs in the past 6 weeks since sticking at this dose. I'm a bit gutted. They offered Trulicity but I need to research this before I go for it. I have a couple of weeks left of this pen so I have time to do my research.

Who is the supplier? I'm really hoping this is short lived as it's getting very expensive now.

Peridot1 · 12/07/2023 11:43

@WhyDoesItAlways - I don’t think anyone knows how long the issues will go on. Some reports say possibly into 2024.

I'm crossing my fingers it gets a bit easier in September - I heard (might have been someone on here) that there have been issues with a factory making Wegovy for the US market that should be resolved by then. Which might take the pressure off Ozempic a bit

MrsPerfect12 · 12/07/2023 11:58

@WhyDoesItAlways it's manual. Up to £250 from £199. The Trulicity offered is £169 per month.

MotherofTerriers · 12/07/2023 15:48

Rightangled have 1mg in stock

Rightangled have 1mg in stock

Out of stock now. I wouldn't have paid £300 for it anyway.

MotherofTerriers · 12/07/2023 17:02

They just emailed and cancelled the order - said at my request, but I didn't request cancellation. Arrgghh

AlwaysGreen · 12/07/2023 20:10

Well I've got a pen that's been in a post since Friday, should have been delivered on Saturday but still waiting. So on top of shortages, now double lucky if it ever arrives 🙄

AlwaysGreen · 12/07/2023 20:12

But on a positive note - 0.5mg is kicking in. I couldn't believe when I struggled to finish my (somewhat moderate) lunch.. kept the rest as an afternoon snack and now I feel like skipping dinner , and just having nibbles instead.

ohlahlah · 15/07/2023 03:56

I have been on Ozempic for 6 months and combined it with a consistent exercise routine and hearths eating habits. I've now lost 40 pounds.

I've stopped, primarily due to my need to save my money in these uncertain times as the cost has more than doubled since I started, but also uncertainty around what this could be doing to my health long-term.
I've booked an appointment with a prescription service to restart as I can see my appetite increasing rapidly, but a part of me is saying I can maintain my current weight without Ozempic and another part of me is saying 6 months is too early to stop and I'll be back to being heavy despite my exercises.
I want to stay healthy.

I'm just looking to hear other people's experiences with Ozempic? How long did you take it for? Did you regain the weight after stopping? Any long term side effects you may have noticed?

Menora · 15/07/2023 09:45

That’s it i think, I am out of ozempic and out of options to get any. I am going to have to give it up. I can’t even find any tablets.

Blueskies55 · 15/07/2023 13:00

I've had to stop too after 6 weeks , I've run out and currently can't justify the cost. My side effects were awful too no matter how careful I was. I got a GP appointment to just make sure I had no underlining issues since I'd be ill for days on end. I'll miss the lack of food chatter but I'm hoping now I can just stick to the same routine I had on ozempic and hopefully it holds me in good stead.

Has anyone got an email from my juniper saying no 1mg stock and we will only get .5?

Amitabha · 17/07/2023 18:40

I had the same email earlier. I'm not sure what I'm going to do to be honest. I thought the suggestion of meal replacement was quite bizarre.

Not bizarre if you understand that they don’t really care about the wellbeing of their customers at all and just want to sell you what they can 🙁

Amitabha · 17/07/2023 18:44

Very true.

Gonewith · 17/07/2023 19:10

I got an email from Rightangled they only have 0.5 and 0.25 but came with a 10% off code: XZE8E2H1F4QG

DrMadelineMaxwell · 17/07/2023 19:12

My juniper 1mg has been dispatched according to an email I got today.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 17/07/2023 19:17

But I then got an email saying that they cant get it and any shipments due 18th onwards will be automatically delayed to allow time to confirm. So I'm not sure whether my order had squeaked through or not.

I will be getting in contact tomorrow as I do not want a 0.5 pen.

Windinmyhair · 17/07/2023 19:18

Dr MM - what is the alternative? I don't know of anywhere with stock!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 17/07/2023 19:26

I was only going to take it for one more pen due to cost. And I had justified it at getting 8 weeks out of it now it is twice what it originally cost.
So my alternative is to come off it and wait until the stock issue has resolved itself.

Hey guys! Jumping on for some advice from anyone that went from using Saxenda to Ozempic. I was on the 2.4mg dose of Saxenda, had 4 days break and took my first 0.25 dose of Ozempic last Tuesday. I've noticed no side affects and have been eating with an normal-increased appetite.

Did anyone in a similar situation jump to the 0.5 dose sooner? How did you feel? Did it work better? I'm due my next dose tomorrow, but not sure what to do!

Stillwearingskinnies · 17/07/2023 21:00

@ohlahlah I'm in a similar position to you, I lost about 40 pounds since about November.
Recently I've found the 1mg dosage has had a minimal effect, in comparison with the early days (when I literally had no appetite).
Since juniper increased the price I thought I would eke out the monthly medication and only take 0.5mg doses and then stop completely. But I'm struggling with the food noise and my weight is creeping up.
Anyway, juniper have emailed today saying they only have 0.5mg pens, just when I was considering going back to 1mg.
I am just going to carry on with the 0.5mg dosage and hope the 1mg pens come back into stock soon.

And most importantly I need to get back into healthy eating and the gym again (it's a bit stressful at work which has a huge impact on my eating & sleeping).

Scaredtobegin · 17/07/2023 23:10

I also got the email from Juniper. I will do one more pen.

im annoyed at myself. I am losing weight still and it definitely helps regulate my appetite but I’m using that as an excuse to eat badly. I know that one burger will fill me up for the day so I’ll eat a bad takeaway instead of something healthy because technically my calories are low. I’m drinking more too which is odd. I also find I’m craving more sugary things when normally I don’t. I feel I was better on 0.25 than 0.5, the side effects are mainly grogginess and I feel a constant brain fog. I’m off on holiday again soon so this isn’t working how I’d hoped
