I'm 33.

I'm 1m68 (5ft6)

I don't actually know what I weight and I got rid of my scales last year when getting on them just made me cry every time and I was just too depressed to even try and start loosing weight - I have ordered scales and will weight myself tomorrow.

However last time I weighed myself nearly a year ago I was 94kg (14st 11) and I know that I have gained since then.

I started gaining weight the beginning of covid, before 2019 my very highest weight had been 68kg ( 10st10) and my normal weight had been round 62kg for most of my adult life, so I have massively put on weight over these last four years. (Separation, depression, stress at work, and just general giving up).

My body is ruined by stretch-marks and my boobs that used to be great are now just swollen and saggy and stretch marked.

I'm really depressed by my weight and have decided its time to do something about it.

I have an office job and I'm not at all active.

I've tried to start making small changes, walking to the underground instead of getting the bus, getting the stairs up the one flight to my office instead of the lift but everything feels like a struggle and I have such awful thigh chaffing that walking is often excruciatingly painful.

I how I need to make a change because on top of it being so unhealthy being so over weight just makes me so upset. I've stopped going out as much and have just retreated into a shell.

I also have an appointment with a psychologist tomorrow.

I decided last month that enough is enough and I need to do something about it all.

I've started using face cream, and am finally having laser on my very very hairy thighs and - the point of this thread - I'm going to start saxenda tomorrow.

I thought I'd journal here.

Another good report from me too. Scales have been going down this week, around 15st 12 today. So this week could potentially be a 4lb loss, or more as I have 2 more days and reeeeeeeally need a poo!! That takes it to 1st 1.5lb loss in 4 weeks.
Is anyone else having issues swallowing tablets and gulps of drink? I am struggling. I gag and vomit comes back (sorry!). I've been trying to take senna this week with no joy. I just can't get it in. I'm struggling with drink too, I can only sip, not have a proper mouthful or two if you know what I mean. I don't have any nausea or side effects, but this gag thing is bringing me close to spewing. No thank you!

justsaxy · 03/06/2023 21:47

Salut! Je voulais juste vous dire bonjour, je vous suis toujours suivi. mon rdv approche...

ThisMustBeMyDream · 03/06/2023 21:55

Well, I finally managed an evacutation praise the Lord 😂. Post dinner the scales are 15st 11.5 (i took the highest of 6 readings!). So that bodes well for the morning perhaps?! That is now 4.5lb this week, makes up for last week and does show that weight loss certainly isn't linear!

Radish12 · 04/06/2023 09:25

Great news on both counts @ThisMustBeMyDream ! I've started taking magnesium gummies that I saw recommended on a Facebook Saxenda group to try and keep me regular - fingers crossed.

So after holidays I've done five days on 0.6 and two days (well, today is the second day) on 1.2. I could really feel the hunger and food chatter yesterday. Not sure how quickly I can progress up the doses... I'm not having any side effects and was on 1.8 before my break. I'll see how I get on today and if it's the same as yesterday I can probably handle that for a couple more days but if it's any worse I'll increase the dose.

Have a good day all!

Radish12 · 04/06/2023 09:27

Ooh not sure why mumsnet would hide my reply? I don't think I said anything controversial!

ThisMustBeMyDream · 04/06/2023 09:45

What did you say?!! 👀🤣

Radish12 · 04/06/2023 10:02

Ah it's showing now, maybe too much poo talk for so early on a Sunday 😂

ThisMustBeMyDream · 04/06/2023 10:06

They must have thought you were the poo troll perhaps 🤣.

Hello lovely ladies, I wonder if I can join you? Have been lurking and reading so today I've namechanged for this and here I am!

So, I lost 5 stones the "normal" way by doing keto / calorie counting and exercising (don't worry, I am not here to lecture anyone 😂) and went down from 14st 7 to 9st 7. Then I separated, am half way through my divorce, started HRT and have become a peri menopausal monster, and I've put on 2 of the 5 stone I'd lost. I've been trying to lose them again since January, and all my scales seem to do is go up and up. I eat well during the day and am very active, but you'd be amazed at the amount of crap I can eat between 9 and 11pm! I've completely lost my willpower and am craving chocolate like I've never done in my life.
I'm only short, so 11st 9 gives me a bmi of 30- which thankfully meant I could get hold of Saxenda pens!
I've been on it for 2 weeks. I did 8 days on 0.6 and after reading what some of you have done, I've gone up to 0.9. So far I've lost 4lbs but I've been away for a week so I'm sort of happy with it. The side effects are not too bad but I am also very constipated! So today I've bought a load of fruit and hope that will get things going!
I am trying not to jump on the scales everyday but I think I'm addicted!

I hope I'm allowed to stay 👀

TangoShoes · 04/06/2023 15:09

Hello,

I hope it's okay to join - I've just sat and read the whole thread - so lovely to see everyone's progress and the insight from you all has been so helpful, thank you. I'm also heavily invested in you all, which may be a bit creepy 🥴😂 I started Saxenda on Friday teatime so have had two doses so far. Haven't noticed any major difference in my appetite until today where I've just not fancied much to eat at all. However, this has coincided with me having a horribly "bubbly" stomach and feeling completely devoid of energy all day. Has anyone experienced this as a side effect? Please tell me it lifts!
Height: 5ft 3"
Starting weight: 12st 8lb
Goal weight: 9st 8lbs

TangoShoes · 04/06/2023 15:18

Sorry, should also have asked if anyone has experienced massive bloating too? I look six months pregnant 🫣😂

Footgoose · 04/06/2023 17:09

Hi @CiderJabs and @TangoShoes . 😊

Footgoose · 04/06/2023 17:12

I pretty sure sure someone on here has mentioned the bloating . Hopefully you will get some feed back soon . I’ve been lucky and had very few side effects, dry mouth being the main one . I’m not bloated as such but do feel constantly full if that makes sense , like I’ve eaten too much .

TangoShoes · 04/06/2023 17:26

Thank you so much @Footgoose 👋🏻 I've just eaten and didn't finish it. Yay! Deffo working then. Must admit, I was wholly underwhelmed yesterday when I still wanted to stuff my face 😂

Tarragon123 · 04/06/2023 18:14

Hi everyone

welcome to newbies!

My nauseous is calming down. Really weird I have gone completely off coffee. You know when you are in the first trimester
and you feel sick and go off food? Like that.

However, I’m managing better this time round. Maybe a morning injection is better for me?

charlotr366 · 04/06/2023 20:36

Weigh in for me in the morning, lost nothing at 0.6 so upped the dose to 1.2 last week, hoping for better news in the morning.

Hoping to up to 1.8 tomorrow for this week as really would like to shift a stone in June if I can!

Worried about the uk saxenda shortage, I ordered from boots, still on my first pen and have 2 pens in the fridge but hoping the 1.8 dose and some meal planning are going to start this weight loss off!

Would love to order some extra pens but no idea if I'll be able to get any more!

Footgoose · 04/06/2023 21:39

Spoke to a pharmacist on Wednesday who says there is no UK shortage and her pharmacy has plenty stock . Instead it’s a clamp down on the private prescribers. However, I tried to re order with my original prescriber Loyds and they are out of stock .
tried getting if from Asda but they won’t prescribe as my BMI is now under 30 and I have no medical conditions affected by weight.
I’ve literally cried today . This is literally working wonders for me and I have 1 pen left .

I tried Superdrug but their starting threshold is also a BMI of 30 ( mine is 28.7 ) and they won’t send it out without a weight / height check in store . So adding a few pounds to my weight in a fib isn’t going to get me anywhere and I’m to much of a scardy cat to do that anyway.

CiderJabs · 04/06/2023 21:48

But surely everyone's bmi goes down while using the pens so are they saying you can't order anymore unless you're still over 30? That's bonkers.
I've also been worrying about that. I only got 3 pens and I'm already under 30. I would like 2 more as I feel / hope 5 would be enough, but now I think I may have to settle on the 3 I have. That's well annoying. I might try to order more sooner rather than later. What a pain.

Saxendastarter · 04/06/2023 22:17

Welcome @CiderJabs and @TangoShoes ! @Tarragon123 good to hear the nausea is better. @TangoShoes no bloating for me - could it be constipation? @justsaxy Chouette, tu vas etre hyber bien preparée du coup quand tu demarres. @Namechange602 great for your knees, good luck with the viewings. @BeagleMum1 Well done for the first jab! @BinnityBoo Let us know how the running goes. @Radish12 and everyone else whos been - congratulations on the poos!

I didn't do my food check in yesterday because I had an impromptu dinner at mine and I drank and I felt ill before I was even tipsy - I think the 3mg dose is finally having the alcohol related effect on me that other people are having at lower doses. I have been feeling hung over all day and I only had probably under a bottle of wine and a small whisky - which is tame for me for a weekend.

@ I’m hoping the problem is that going to a different prescriber I’m seen as a new patient , however, I do tick the box saying I’m already taking saxander . I just hope Loyds will re prescribe when they have stock as I’m already their patient . I’ve had a message from one of their Doctors referring to me as “mid treatment” and will be in touch when stock is available . Fingers crossed .

Hi @Saxendastarter . Beautiful picture . X

TangoShoes · 05/06/2023 09:05

Lovely pictures @Saxendastarter and thank you for the welcome!
So I've had the most explosive 💩 I've ever experienced last night and this morning. It is just like liquid (sorry TMI 🫣). However, I'm sticking with it because am hoping it will pass when my body gets used to it. Had a sneaky jump on the scales this morning and I've already lost 2lbs since Friday.
Hope everyone has a lovely day 😊

Saxendastarter · 05/06/2023 09:26

Well I still have quite a bad hangover from Saturday ! My mouth is feeling all dry and my head still hurts a little…. Really hoping that Saxenda can make me alcohol intolerant for a while so I can build new better habits.
