Hi ladies, I know I've been a bit AWOL again this months, but here is the new thread.

I am up 1.25 pounds this month, but I'm working on making healthier choices to see if it makes me feel better overall. Usual aims for this month.

Can I join please?

6 stone to lose in a perfect world, but I’d be happy with a 3+ stone loss.

I started last week and have lost 5lb so far.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 31/03/2023 09:48

Morning - thanks for the new thread! Welcome @Aqwertyone

I'm still not weighing/exercising madly/going by clothes. Not sure I will ever weigh again. I had my first in-person GP appointment since 2020 a couple of weeks ago and the doctor commented on how fit I looked, so that was really lovely.

Solongtoshort · 31/03/2023 22:07

Hi

Can l join please, l followed a thread a couple of years ago and list 3.5 stone.

l seen a go on Wednesday who told me l was fat and depressed and l had a higher chance of breast cancer, not that l went to see her for these reasons, l think l am menopausal not depressed.

Anyway l joined ww and started c25k l want to aim for 8lbs in April.

Octopus45 · 31/03/2023 23:12

Welcome @Aqwertyone and @Solongtoshort , @Judystilldreamsofhorses its great that you are doing so well with your exercise, I gave Get Fit with Rick a go the other week, but I've been really struggling with time this week cause of work. Things should start to quieten down a bit after Easter.

I'm going to try to be a bit more proactive in April, I've eaten three healthy dinners this week, which doesn't sound like much of an achievement but its something. I had a stir fry rather than a takeaway tonight

I started to focus on losing weight and getting fit about 3 weeks ago, lost 7lb so far. I put on a lot of weight while in recovery from cancer, but determined to get back to a healthy place.

Room4onemore · 01/04/2023 04:27

Hi can I join please? I’m starting today on 1st April to try and loose some weight and get my bmi down to normal instead of obese. I will weigh myself when I get up and start from there

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/04/2023 11:53

Welcome new people!

@Octopus45 i really like GFWR. I tend to mute him and just have my AirPods in with my running playlist, but he’s great for getting steps up, and I like that you can choose long or short workouts. The body combat ones are good if you are having a bad day and want to do some punching!

LBB2020 · 01/04/2023 18:14

Thanks for the new thread @Octopus45 I seem to be stuck at 11st1lb! I’m still exercising 3 times a week, no chocolate and no snacking in the evenings so it’s a bit disappointing really!
Going to keep plodding on and see how it goes!

swallowedAfly · 03/04/2023 11:52

Just marking place so I don't lose thread. I've been offline for a while. Quick waves - will come back and read and update later.

Solongtoshort · 05/04/2023 12:25

Hi everyone, l lost 2lb this week, l am amazed at that as l made a few bad choices with all this chocolate hanging about.

My kids had 2 nights at my mums and l think my husband wanted a date night unfortunately for him l was so tired l went to bed at 8.30pm and what a wonderful nights sleep l had, it really did set me up for the next day.

MrsBlondie · 05/04/2023 12:28

Can I join? Wave to all and well done to those who have lost so far, and getting fit.

Im already fit, I exercise 4-5 times a week including running, walking, - also get fit with rick (he is good isnt he for a quick blast!).

Its just the food! I need to loose 1 stone 6lbs. I joined ww today.

MrsBlondie · 06/04/2023 11:42

Right today I've run 5k.
Getting used to the ww app.

Anyone else on ww?

ScottishBeth · 08/04/2023 08:02

Hi everyone! And welcome to new people!

Sorry to not have been around for the beginning of the month.

I weighed 75.5kg on 4th April. Just looking at the year so far my weight loss slowed in March - only 0.8kg lost. But I lost 7.7kg between 2nd Jan and 4th April, so that's pretty good.

I am halfway to my goal, which is 69.8, and my next mini goal is 73.6kg, where I will have lost 10% of my starting weight.

talkitup · 08/04/2023 10:52

Late to the party 🥳 but I've been on a slow journey to finding health & fitness for the last 10 weeks. It's been a mixed bag; feeling sore and tired but also slowly stronger from strength training. Lost about 9 lbs - slow going but I do find it hard to lose weight (meno/HRT/like wine too much) - I'm going on holiday in two weeks, so just knuckling down to see how much further I can get to comfortably fit in my clothes 😅

ScottishBeth · 10/04/2023 11:51

@talkitup welcome! I feel like 9lbs in 10 weeks is decent - it's a marathon not a sprint! So well done. And I am with you on liking wine too much! Where are you going on holiday?

@MrsBlondie how long have you been running? I have recently restarted C25k (am on week 6). I'm looking forward to the days where I can just casually do a 5k run! And how is it all going?

I was 75kg this morning - half a kg loss in the past week, so pleased with that. Especially since I went to a barbecue on Saturday, and also ate an Easter egg over the weekend.

MrsBlondie · 10/04/2023 17:23

@ScottishBeth I've been running years I've it.
Did 5k today and now aiming to run every other day and build up to half marathon. I was running well but since covid in December 2021 I've found it hard.

Well done on losses all. I've had a mini Easter egg. Weigh in tomorrow for week 1!

Tradeup · 10/04/2023 18:25

Morning all (I am in the USA) just lost 10lb my first month! I started March 13th. I am using MyFitnessPal for meal tracking as I used it successfully in 2017 to help lose weight before I had cancer. Not doing a great deal of exercise as recovering from a bad ankle sprain before Christmas, so hopefully can start increasing that this month.

I started at 180lb = 12.857 stone
down to 169.6 = 12.11
GW for May 8th 160lb = 11. 4

swallowedAfly · 15/04/2023 17:35

Doing ok this month. Over 4lbs lost so far. Still very inactive but doing well on food. Back to just plain overweight.

Welcome to newcomers and waves to absent friends.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 16/04/2023 00:07

i’ve had bloody Covid again so can’t taste and no appetite - my jeans feel loose. I’ve tried to keep up steps and yoga but I am exhausted 😷

ScottishBeth · 16/04/2023 07:50

@MrsBlondie that is amazing! Hopefully I'll be doing the same soon! (Though not going to train for a marathon.)

Well done on the losses @Tradeup and @swallowedAfly No longer being obese is a big achievement.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses oh no! Get well soon. Rest if your body needs it! Don't push yourself on exercise.

Octopus45 · 16/04/2023 08:40

O no @Judystilldreamsofhorses hope you feel better soon. Look after yourself.

Lovely to hear how well everyone is doing. I haven't been doing great tbh, a couple more pounds on this month, have been feeling quite low, have a few work problems, but have decided that I really need to get a grip. Think the weight gain is cumulative rather than a sudden binge, also my steps haven't been so good recently, mainly cause of the weather, although I have got a bit lazy. I was reading about the Glucose Goddess on another thread, so am planning on trying out some of her methods. TBH I need more energy as much as anything else. Basically the focus seems to be on eating protein or fibre before carbs to reduce blood sugar spikes. She has a new book coming out at the the beginning of May.

swallowedAfly · 16/04/2023 15:59

I don’t think I can bear to read another book or formula for weight loss 🙈

Sorry things are tough Octopus. Couple of pounds will drop off again. You’ve been maintaining a really healthy weight for a long time now which is fantastic.

get well soon Judy and rest!

talkitup · 16/04/2023 18:11

Lost 9 lb since end Jan. Sloe but sure. Much more active than ice I've ever been, which is building tone but not apparently helping with weight loss.

Octopus45 · 17/04/2023 19:09

Wow @talkitup 9 pounds is loads.

How are you feeling @Judystilldreamsofhorses .

I know what you mean about weight loss books @swallowedAfly , I'm hoping that it might help with my energy and mood as much as anything but we'll see.

Octopus45 · 20/04/2023 07:53

Hi ladies, hope everyone is having a good week. I'm trying to build up some better habits. I've started doing a five minute meditation every morning and I've been trying out some workouts on youtube. I quite like the Eleni Fit ones, I did the thigh one yesterday and I'm going to do the waist one later.

One the weight front I'm not doing very well, only a couple of pounds, but heavier than I've been for quite a while. I'm trying to eat a few almonds before my breakfast to balance blood sugar and salad before dinner. I'm probably getting it all wrong though cause I put Pizza Express light dressing on my salad. Also yesterday was a work from home day, so despite a dog walk, I only managed just under 5,000 steps. So difficult to get it all right. Also I completley self-sabotaged yesterday by eating loads of Easter egg. TBH I think I was doing better when I was eating junk, but I'll keep trying. I'd like to lose 8 pounds for my holiday and really tone up.
