Hi ladies, I know I've been a bit AWOL again this months, but here is the new thread.

I am up 1.25 pounds this month, but I'm working on making healthier choices to see if it makes me feel better overall. Usual aims for this month.

Morning all, I’ve been terrible at keeping up with the thread this month! Work has been really busy and the school Easter break felt long! Hope those that have been under the weather are feeling better and well done on the loses!
I'm keeping up with 3/4 gym classes a week and I’m loving it, feel like I have my motivation back! I’ve not weighed myself since the beginning of the month but to be honest I’m more focused more on exercise and fitness as I was finding the lack of weight loss really demotivating. I’m eating ok, chocolate has crept back into my diet since lent finished/Easter but I’m not snacking in the evenings and am eating more fruit/salad/veg. Water is my downfall I really struggle as I don’t seem to feel thirsty!
Anyway, I hope you are all well and having a good weekend x

Morning!

@LBB2020 that's amazing that you're keeping up with the exercise. Physical health is about so much more than weight, I find it quite frustrating when people only exercise to lose weight (though I known its frustrating when you don't lose). So it's fab you've found a way to keep going.

I've struggled a bit with everything, and consequently have gone off plan and had a small gain. Though I don't know exactly how much!

But I'm going to try and focus on meditating each day, and other similar things to look after myself. Alongside that I'm just going to revisit my commitment to weight loss, and am actually pretty confident that doing those together I'll get back on track.

LBB2020 · 22/04/2023 10:39

Thank you @ScottishBeth. Before having my children I was at the gym at least 5 times a week so getting back into it and enjoying it rather than it feeling like a chore is great!
Sorry to hear you’re struggling at the moment. I’m sure you’ll be back on track in no time

It's great that despite Easter, we all seem to be remaining mindful. I have also continued with going to gym and doing pump, yoga and pilates classes. Over 10 weeks, I have lost 5% body weight whilst increasing my muscle % so while it's felt slow, I'm definitely taking the wins. I'm on holiday atm, and going to gym every day and watching the food/alcohol intake. Realistically, I have another 20lbs to go before I'm back at a healthy weight for me. But feeling more optimistic about getting there, even if it takes me all year! I'm 54 and on HRT - don't know if that's making a difference but irrespective, on we march Smile

All your exercise sounds great @talkitup and @LBB2020 . Know what you mean about the whole menopause thing making a difference, I'm 48 and have been on HRT for nearly two years. I think when you get into exercise it really helps, although I'm still working at it. My weight is slightly down this week, well 1.75 pounds. I've been done a 5 minute morning meditation and a 10 minute Eleni fit workout every day, know that doesn't sound a lot but I feel better for it so far.

Well done everyone.

Nearly 2 years on HRT for me too Octopus and I'm very nearly the same age as you.

Weight is still moving in the right direction overall, albeit slowly. Have made a start at doing some resistance training. Did biceps and triceps the day before yesterday and my arms are still killing today lol. DS turned personal trainer and pushed me to do more that I would have done otherwise.

Need to do legs really but still struggling with being on my feet for long and there's limited things to do at home anyway. I bloody hate squats but will try and start doing some in short bursts throughout the day - not the ideal way to do it but it's a start.

Hi all, people sound really motivated and proactive. I definitely need to add meditation and weights of some kind- tho I think I'm allergic to the latter! Heading towards 90 days sugar and flour free here and down 19lbs, v pleased and back to 9 stone. Shocking how it had shot up. One thing I've really noticed is that I don't need to eat so much to feel full. Hope you're all well in life as well as weight! Judy, hope you're feeling better again!

Octopus45 · 29/04/2023 13:35

Well done Mikado, that's fantastic. @Judystilldreamsofhorses hope you are feeling better now. I'm still doing my work outs and meditation. This morning I tried a 5 minute weights one (have to start somewhere), but I didn't have the right weights (managed to locate one 2kg one and one 3kg one), seem to have lost them, but think I might have thrown the smaller one away. I'm down slightly on the weight front. I only seem to get to grips with adding stuff to my diet, ie a small handful of almonds with breakfast, dont seem to be able to give things up lol.

Hello! I’m still coughing with no taste but did a 30 minute body combat workout today - my first proper one since getting Covid. I worked from home all last week so steps were lower but still over 70k for the week so we will take it.

Hope everyone is having a nice long weekend - my DP is off to Saudi today so it’s just me and the cat for the next week. I’m meeting my GBF for a tapas lunch (read: wine and gossip) on Monday but today and tomorrow will just be pottering at home. I am always super productive with housework when I know no-one is going to mess it up except me!

LBB2020 · 30/04/2023 22:27

I’m still keeping up with my gym classes and eating more sensibly but the weight is not budging! It’s really hard not to get demotivated by it to be honest. I’m really enjoying my workouts though so will stick with it. Hope everyone is having a great long weekend
