I had my weight watchers weigh in yesterday (no class last week) and have lost 10.5 lbs in 2 weeks. Yipeeeee!!! Curry and wine tonight and going for 3.5 this week to hopefully get to a stone. Loler I've been walking like crazy, I have a very fit dog and walk between 2 and 6 miles a day, that's my secret and it's working. Well done to everyone else.

WOW Oliviasmama, that is spectacular! Well done. What a brilliant start that is! Good luck for the rest of the week.

Hi everyone! Hope all is well.

I have grumbling gall stones today. Really feeling a bit rum. I have got to get this sorted out but waiting to lose a bit more so I can have surgery without too much added risk. Am dreading a sleepless night.

mammyjo · 17/05/2008 09:57

Ags, you have my sympathy. Hope you feel better soon My gallstones have started grumbling again over the last few days which has caused lots of pain and not much eating. Fed up of it now, although I weighed this morning and I am 12st 12lbs. I am very pleased to have dropped under the 13st band!
Got a pre op assessment on Weds, so hoping a surgery date will be close behind.

Ags · 19/05/2008 11:42

Good luck with the appointment Mammyjo. And brilliant about the 12stone band! Sorry it is not for a very good reason though. Thankfully my gallstones eventually stopped grumbling and I had a peaceful night.

loler · 19/05/2008 13:40

Oliviasmum - what a fab start hope still going well.

Sorry to hear about the gallstones. My mum said that they were more painful than labour so hope you get rid of hem soon.

Dh being away for last week has done me a favour and I have finally shifted that last 1lb (and 2 of its friends) to get below my 10%. Hoping to keep going this week as I'm now 12.1 so another 2lb and I'll be in the 11 stone bracket! Have been in that bracket since uni where I ate nothing but mashed potato so I could afford beer! Sounds like a good diet if not healthy!

Yeah Loler! That was a stubborn little pound wasn't it? Great to see the back of it! Roll on the 11 stone bracket!

mammyjo · 19/05/2008 14:45

Well done Loler! I can only dream of the 11 stone bracket yet, chuffed to be in the 12 stone one just now! I haven't been this weight since I got married, and that was 9 years ago I do feel better generally, shame about the bloody gallstones, but hopefully they will be gone soon.
And yes, I would say they are worse than labour when they kick off. At least with labour you get gas and air, and you know there is an end in sight!

OLIVIASMAMA · 19/05/2008 23:42

That's fantastic Loler - I would be so happy just to be in the 12 stone bracket never mind the 11. Good for you.

Ags and mammyjo you both have my sympathy, I've been told in great detail how painful gallstones are, good going on the weight loss though mammyjo.

I've just had dinner with my girlfriend who's been round for supper whilst my DH's away working, slipped a bit on the wine, weigh in looming on Thursday! I LOVE wine.

OLIVIASMAMA · 19/05/2008 23:53

Ags - I've just been reading about you in this thread, you are doing an AMAZING job with this weight loss. Absolutely fantastic, I admire you.

I just read your thread on the last page about your thought process, it made me think about when I've failed before so just a quick thanks, I'm another who's copied and pasted it.

1dilemma · 20/05/2008 00:19

Wow guys this is amazing, can I ask are you all doing weightwatchers?

Oliviasmama, thank you so much for your lovely comments. The encouragement is so welcome. And I too love wine and will be slipping on it tomorrow night with my girlfriends! Roll on!

1dilemma, I am doing weight watchers and going to meetings. Some on here do it online. I hope that 2 lbs stayed off for you. Welcome!

Banana that is brilliant! Only 2 lbs away from a stone! What an achievement. I bet you are feeling it now in your clothes. Isn't it nice when that happens?

Mammyjo, you go girl! Over 2 stone now. Seriously fantastic. And size 16. You must be feeling very slinky.

I had my weigh in today and lost 4.5 lbs. I am delighted but a little amazed to have had such a big loss at this stage. I was very good but still! Only half a pound away from 4 stones now. Pesky half a pound! Seriously I am not complaining.

Ages, there is a lady at my meeting who has lost shedloads of wieght. She brought in her before photo in and still has a few stone to loose- I would say...Anyway she lost 6lb this week. So it's not just in the first stages. She looks totally different now.

Well done on your loss this week. I think you are an insration to us all. I have tried to loose wieght many times, but this time I feel so focused. I am 40 next year and am not having anymore children. I want to feel like a woman again and not someones mum/wife. I feel like this is my last chance and I am going to do it.

Ags · 20/05/2008 23:03

Oh wow Banana, 6lbs would be amazing wouldn't it? I know what you mean about feeling like yourself again. I am 37 this year and feel like if I don't do it this time I am going to resign myself to being airlifted out of the house!

fedda · 20/05/2008 23:25

Oh, I like good news

mammyjo · 21/05/2008 10:11

Ags, 4 stone is absolutely fantastic! You are doing so well.
Wouldn't quite say I feel slinky, but I look in the mirror and don't mind the reflection these days! The only thing I hate is the dreaded saggy belly. That is my really gross area and I don't think any amount of exercise will shift it as it is just dangly iykwim!

Ags · 23/05/2008 09:47

How is everybody? It is very quiet on here at the moment. Does everyone have half term next week? Hope you all have a nice time.

OLIVIASMAMA · 23/05/2008 15:35

Go for it everyone - this is GREAT news all round this week, everyone seems to have done so well.

I missed my stone by half a pound at weigh in this week -lost 3 lbs, just didn't manage that last little 1/2 lb to get to my first stone!..... of course it couldn't have had anything to do with the copious amount of wine I consumed with my friend Laura, (who's extremely slim and curvy too. YUK!)

Oliviasmama! 3 pounds is fantastic. Well done. And you will easily get your stone next week but I agree it is a teensy bit annoying to miss a nice milestone by such a tiddly bit. Great result.

OLIVIASMAMA · 26/05/2008 16:12

Oh my god Ag's - I think I'll have put a stone on after this weekend!

I've been BAD, really really BAD. Dreading WW weigh in on Thursday!

Eddas · 27/05/2008 10:37

Hi, I have been feeling a bit down over the last few months and have many 'issues' to deal with. Nothing serious just PITA's I coudl do without and dieting has been the last thing on my mind.

However, over the last few weeks my jeans have got tighter and so uncomfortable that I am unable to ignore the fact that I need to diet. So I would like to rejoin the thread and hope that this time I will stop making excuses for not dieting and just get on with it.

I am not telling anyone in rl that i am doing it and will just see how I go. I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning pre eating and start from there. But will be good today as I can say 'i'll start tomorrow' forever I need to do it now.

Breakfast wasn't too good, coco pops, but I will start NOW.

Hi eddas, it's so hard isn't it but we're all in the same boat - I've just weighed myself on home scales and have put about 6 pounds on in a week. I'm not at all surprised, everyday I have thought I'll do it today and haven't done, infact I've actually been worse than the day before! Just to let you know you're not on your own. Today's a new day though - let's see how we go. Official weight watchers weigh in tomorrow.....AARGHHHH! Is it actually possible to lose 6 pounds in a day - I think I'm doomed this week!
