DO you think its a bad idea to have a heavy jacket potato with bbeans the night before weigh in? I've eaten earlier than usual, but now I'm thinking it was a bad plan for first weigh in tomorrow at 9.30.

Good luck tomorrow Moodlum. And well done Short and Fio too!

That mascarpone sauce sounds lishus (my dd's new word which I prefer to delicious!). Also sounds like something dh would love, he can have 3 portions and me 1!!!!!

I have had Mum and Dad staying since I came back from Ireland after Easter and have managed to mostly stay on the straight and narrow. It is definately harder when people are staying. Much more temptation even though they are completely supportive and helpful.

My ww buddy has a serious diet saboteur! Her sister and her almost came to blows the other day in McDonalds as she refused a hamburger and went instead for the lower fat chilli chicken sandwich. Anyone else experiencing a mate/dh or friend who is trying to sabotage things? She is wondering how to deal with it.

I had some of the ww carrot cake slices today. 1 point each and they were really nice. I had two friends to lunch (one on ww and one skinnymalinx who is not!) and even the skinny one preferred them to the other cakes.

Anyway, hope you are all ok.

ShortandSweet · 04/04/2008 06:28

Hi ags, what a crap sister your friend has, she must be jealous. Sorry I can help.

WW also do lemon slices which are even nicer, not at sickly as the carrot ones. I was really bad last night, had yummy fish and chips, but back on things today

lilibet · 04/04/2008 14:56

How does everyone 'manage ' their poitns?

do you use them all in one day or save for the weekne/alcohol?

moodlumthehoodlum · 04/04/2008 17:47

All that work and hunger and only 1.5lb lost.

Have just snacked all day since my weigh in, and ate my body weight in jammie dodgers when I got home this morning. So I think that I've probably cancelled out those 1.5lbs already!

Boo hiss to Slimming World then.

Ags · 05/04/2008 00:22

Oh moodlum, I'm sorry that you are disappointed. I always snack all day on Tuesday (my weigh in day). Last Tuesday most of my snacks were based around doughnuts and Delia's potato chocolate cake (made by friend's Mum). But I find that it is quite good for the diet to have a bad day every so often (ie. once a week!) as it seems to kick start things again.

And I know you don't feel it at the moment but a pound and a half is actually quite a lot on the scheme of things. Imagine that this time last week you had 1.5 more pounds of lard slathered all over your body. It really is bloody loads! My ww leader brought a pound of lard in to show us and it was big.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 05/04/2008 00:41

Moodlum - 1.5lbs is great! Really! You dont want to go much more than that each week.

Lillibet - sorry - havent wandered on this thread for a few days! Usually it does it per slice (of pizza). It should say in the detail if you click on it. If its not clear, dont have it!

Ags · 05/04/2008 01:23

Lilibet, I usually eat my points every day but if I know that I am going to be out for drinks or I want a blow out on a meal, then you can save up to 4 points a day towards it. So, if you are on 20 points, you can save 4, eat 16 and then add an extra 4 to the day you are going out. There is a maximum you can add onto one day but I am not sure what that number is. VVV?

mammyjo · 06/04/2008 14:45

Moodlum, 1.5lbs is fab! I lost 1lb last week and was happy with that. Over the space of a year you could lose 52lb at an average rate of 1lb a week, and that is a lot of weight!! I would love to get to the end of this year and have lost 52lb, that's for sure

Weigh in for me tomorrow, have had a good week so hoping for a loss

moodlumthehoodlum · 06/04/2008 23:02

hello all - thank you for your encouraging words, this thread is great for restoring your willpower and hope!

not been terribly good this weekend. Friday's jammie dodger sesh put me on a downward spiral, but I'm hopeful for the week ahead .

Night all. Good luck for all of you with your weigh in tomorrow.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 07/04/2008 16:06

Had a very norty bad week last week. Up until yesterday I was weighing in at 13st 3lbs (a loss of 1.5lbs), however, today on weigh-in day I weigh 13st 4.4lbs which is exactly the same as last week.

So, basically zero weightloss for me last week. No gain either, but, nothing to report.

My loss was probably more than this as haven't weighed since getting back on the wagon.

Went shopping in Birmingham with friends on Saturday and managed to buy 3 pairs of size 14 trousers that just about fit. Had a bit of a depressing time in Next when their size 16s wouldn't do up but my size 10 friend had to buy size 14 which made me feel better. The top half of me is still and issue, don't seem to be losing any weight from there at all - maybe need to start thinking about excercise (if I say it quickly it doesn't even hurt )

VVVQV - Keep at it, if you have a really good week you could be 12st by next week. That really is on the road to being skinny! You've done so well this far just a bit more!

Ags · 07/04/2008 17:43

Well done Loler. 3 lbs is a great loss and size 14! Yeah!

VVV, after a bad week, it is great to stay the same so well done. ARe you back up on that wagon now and rolling along?

I have my weigh in tomorrow. Have been extremely good so deserve a positive result. Also Mum and Dad have gone back today so it will be nice to be able to suit just me, dh and dcs with mealtimes as opposed to pandering to Dad's potato obsession! Having said that, I will miss them.

Moodlum, hope your week is good. Step away from the Jammie Dodgers!

loler · 07/04/2008 17:54

Good luck for tomorrow ags. Potatoes are lovely though, just can't work out how you get so little for your points!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 07/04/2008 18:46

Not likely to lose a stone and a half by next week

Under 13st would be good though....

Ags · 07/04/2008 20:58

God, wouldn't it be lovely to lose a stone and a half in a week. The stuff dreams are made of!

Can I ask a question about pasta?

How does cooked weight relate to uncooked weight?

I weighed after cooking last night and can only find points for uncooked on the site

loler · 08/04/2008 10:15

Doesn't it have the cooked pasta information on the side of the packet? You'll be able to work out points from that.

I've found a way of keeping away from food - I did a bead necklace/bracelet making course last week and has been keeping hands very busy - in fact forgot to make tea last night!

mammyjo · 08/04/2008 12:43

Hi all. I went to class last night and have lost 2lbs this week Needless to say I am very pleased with that result! I have struggled to stay within my points allowance this week. I had never recalculated my points since starting, so I did last week and I went from 24 to 21 points. I really miss my extra three points! I guess my loss makes it worthwhile though! I have now lost a total of 21lbs, and got my 10% thing too.

Glad to see everyone is still going well. I feel like I am just trundling along, having good and bad days, and managing a pound here and there just now. I have never stuck to weight watchers this long before so I am really hoping this is it for me this time. Long may it last!
