squiffy - good to see cd is still going strong. It is strange what you crave/would cheat for, not always what you expect.

I bet you can already feel the results of the past 2 weeks, its really motivating. I was around 13 1/2 stone when I started (if i'm right with my calcs thats around the 87kg) so now a few weeks on and 30lbs down I feel great.

Are you allowed the bars this week? I put mine in the fridge to go hard so they last longer. lol

i am finding the water a bit boring would just love a nice cup of tea!

ShortandSweet · 05/03/2008 11:30

Why are you not eating cabbage or drinking tea squiffy and caykon?

I am confused.

Eddas · 05/03/2008 11:43

shortandsweet, they're doing the cambridge diet which (I think) is food supplement shakes/soups/bars? Is that right? It means they don't eat normal foods just the diet stuff.

I have to say I don't think I coudl do it as I love to eat Mind you i'm not exactly dieting again this week I will start again.

OP posts:
caykon · 05/03/2008 11:46

yes we are doing cambridge diet. It consists of 3 either shakes or soups or bars and loads of water. Only other things we are allowed is black tea or coffee and 1 pint coke zero.

ShortandSweet · 05/03/2008 12:22

Ah I see. Good luck with it, don't think I could do it either.

Ags · 05/03/2008 17:03

Squiffy, amazing! It is great that Caykon is paving the way and you can see what is possible. Very exciting. Very funny that you cheated for cabbage!

Haven't done the total amount lost fora while. Are you ready ladies? The total weight lost on this thread so far is a whopping
16 stones 5.5 pounds.*
This is seriously good. Well done everyone.

And on a personal note, thank you so much for being so supportive to me especially this week. It means an awful lot.

VVVQVJournalist · 05/03/2008 18:07

YAY!!! That's more than my starting weight

Ags, it's what the thread is here for
It's not usual for folk around you to be doing the same, and thus be able to encourage. If you cant get to meetings much, then this is the next best thing!

fedda · 05/03/2008 21:24

great to hear all the sussessful stories, girls. please, keep posting

Ags · 06/03/2008 11:37

Hello all. Hope the week is going well for you. Having a good week so far myself and after a sneaky mid-week weigh in, it seems that the scales reflect it!

GillL · 06/03/2008 12:40

Hi everyone. Well done for all the weight loss. My 4lb loss is since I last posted which is probably 3 or 4 weeks ago so it's not as good as it looks. I've not been following ww to the letter but I've been trying to carry on with smaller portion sizes, eating low fat and not too many snacks. So far I'm still losing weight but I guess it's because I'm not obesessing about how much and what I'm allowed to eat. Once I stop losing I'll start counting points properly again.

I managed to get some exercise in on Sunday. It was mother's day of course so I should have been resting but everyone was still asleep and I couldn't get back to sleep so I thought I'd take advantage of it. I was feeling very stiff for 3 days. Must try harder to do it regularly.

I'm able to fit in my largest size 12s but none of the others will do up comfortably so I still have to wear some 14s. I've been walking around at work trying not to make it obvious that I'm trying to stop my trousers falling down! Will have to use my vouchers that I got for xmas for some new clothes.

Wow - it's really good to see that total and think that I've done a little bit of that!

A friend came for lunch yesterday (Leek and potato soup - 1 point a big bowl!) and said why was I looking so skinny - haven't ever been called skinny!

My size 16 trousers have started to fall down but I'm with colditz in the size 20 tops. Feels nice that my tummy must be shrinking (can't see it in the mirror though)

fedda · 07/03/2008 21:38

It's wonderful to see how many people are doing so well. I'm getting inspired thanks to you, girls.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 08/03/2008 09:33

Went looking around some clothes shops yesterday.

Size 16 trousers in most cases are still quite tight, and cant be zipped up. This, unfortunately left me a bit despondent. Also a pair of boots I tried on in Evans (the plus size shop with extra wide fitting shoes) wouldnt zip up . I did find a pair of size 16 kick flare jeans which, whilst tight now, do zip up because they are stretch fit

It's good I'm losing it around my middle, and I am clearly losing lots, and I know I'm expecting too much too soon. I think though, this has shown me that I was very much in denial just before I started the diet and was probably a size 20 rather than size 18 but had been lucky with the style of clothes I was wearing. Ho hum. Onwards and downwards.

Ags · 08/03/2008 09:58

VVV, sorry the shopping trip was a bit disappointing. Maybe you were in denial before the diet but the important thing it you aren't now! You are already 20.5 lbs down and they say that it averages a size down per stone lost so you are very close to the 16's being a perfect fit.

My goal is to go to a 'normal' shop and try on a size 16 that fits and looks nice.

fedda · 08/03/2008 17:20

Ags, try Marks and Spencer, they make comfortable clothes. I bought size 12 trousers which feel loose and I'm not even size 12, size 14 often feels too tight when I get it from other shops.

HI ladies, how's everyone going?

I am not doing well at all. Am now toying with the idea of actually going to weightwatchers. Sit at the meetings, listen to others etc etc.

Those of you that attend meetings, do you get a lot out of them? How much are they these days? I could do it online I guess off to research the rice of that.

Want to lose weight damn it but having a serious lack of willpower.

My aim isto get to a nice size before my birthday(my 30th eeek) and that's not until November so I have loads of time. But I guess in all honesty i'd like to look better by the summer so I can wear lovely small clothes

Lenny, well done! It is such a great boost to have a brilliant first week. Doesn't matter if it is .5lbs next week, you will still have lost 5.5lbs in two weeks which is a fantastic result.

Eddas sorry you are falling off the wagon a bit. It is so hard to keep the motivation. I go to weekly meetings but have not been able to stay for the actual meeting bit for a few weeks now. However, I am very invested in going to be weighed. It is a really important part of my weight loss motivation. I costs £5.50 per week. And you can print off a free registration voucher from the ww website. Having said all that, I have been to ww quite a few times. My leader at the moment is fantastic. She is young, totally unjudgemental and incredibly excited about everyones results each week. I have had leaders in the past who seemed like the should have given up years ago and were totally jaded by the whole thing. I wonder if there is anyone in rl who can reccommend a good class/leader near you?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 09/03/2008 21:08

Well done lennygirl! I lost huge amounts in the first two weeks. It has slowed down now, but, that's how it should be.

Have been doing lots of gardening this weekend (on my new allotment plots!). So have done about 9 or 10 points worth of exercise

I can only bank 4 activity points a day for food though!

Weigh in tomorrow. I think I've lost about 1lb this last week. Will see.

loler · 09/03/2008 21:39

Well done lennygirl - keep it up!

Not got time to come on tomorrow so my loss this week it an amazing 2lb - 3 trips to the chocolate fountain on my night out haven't managed to trash my diet . Have done loads of walking in the last week so that must have done the trick.

To celebrate my loss had a pizza and bottle of wine! Watch out for that gain next week!

Thanks for answering my ww q's ags thing is i'm not sure some chirpy leader will inspire me i'm not that sort of person IYKWIM. Also, i really can't afford to waste £5.50 a week and give it to someone that will just weigh me. I do have all my ww books from 5 years ago when i went before so I think really what I need to do is get them out(again) and actually use them. I'm quite interested in hearing about the core plan though as it sounds like lots of people have sucess with it. my books are too old for that though.

I'm at a loss with myself atm with regards to lots of things A major thing is the weightloss. I feel as if, if I can get one of my issues sorted then maybe the others will fall into place[deluded]

Right, I'm going to get the books out and write down everything today and see how I go. Off to work out how many points i'm allowed, think its 18 which does not sound like a lot of food to me

OP posts:
Ags · 10/03/2008 08:28

Yes Eddas, it sounds as if it would be a good idea for you to dig out the books. Lots of people like the core plan but I have never tried it. I am definately a points girl! Totally with you on the 'chirpy leader' thing! I think I might shoot one on my bad weeks. My leader could not be described as 'chirpy'. Those would be the ones to avoid. I like my leader because she binges on chocolate and tells us the points for bottles rather than glasses of wine and the fact that she is constantly struggling to lose 4lbs to get back to goal and tells us about it.

Here's a suggestion. If you can spare £5.50, go to a meeting and register free with a voucher from the website. Then you will be given the book containing the core plan information and maybe buy a new shopping guide. You don't have to go back but at least yo will have all the info.

Good luck Eddas, keep posting.
