Hi all, thought I would create a designated space outside of the newbie zone for those of us who are in it for the long haul and are a few doses, stone, months down the road.

@Peridot1 yes, so much better, I'm not getting breathless climbing stairs. Getting a boost getting back into smaller clothes. I wish I'd been given it before. Also DH has been taking it for 2 weeks now. He was jealous of my weight loss so I convinced him to try it too. He's lost 3.4 kg in his first week.

Prettybubblesintheair · 11/05/2023 10:13

I’d be interested to hear how you get on with the tablets please x

mathis2006 · 11/05/2023 10:23

I used the tablets in between pens before, because I had ordered box by mistake before starting ozempic and at £145 didn't want it to go to waste. It worked the same but it is a bit of work to take take first thing in the morning then wait 30 min for food or drink. Also it taste horrible, and gets stuck in the throat sometimes. But it does work.

Sameiam · 11/05/2023 10:45

Coming up to the end of 8 weeks and the start of 1mg! Really pleased with my success (lost 10% of my body weight) and if I keep on my plan for 0.5kg weekly loss my bmi will be 25 by the end of June.

started to feel a little bit of heartburn after eating now but don’t really want to dip under 1000 calories a day so still making myself eat a decent dinner. Finding the gousto meals good since I can see exactly what’s in them. Next step is upping protein and trying to only eat carbs with dinner, so having e.g meats and cheese for lunch or a chicken salad, and back to boiled eggs for snack.

Sameiam · 11/05/2023 10:46

Oops, would help if I attach graph.

I think I'd rather have the tablets than give up, if I can't find the injection in time.

They're going to work differently for everyone. I'm sure in a some people, they even work better (she says, hopefully!)

Peridot1 · 11/05/2023 11:16

That’s great @caringcarer. Those improvements in health mean so much more than the number on the scales really.

@Sameiam - great going. Good plan on the food too. I find I do much better if I do similar. Must look into the Gousto meals. DH is never keen but we are in a bit of a rut with meals so I might be worth a go.

@AndSoFinally - I would definitely try the tablets again if I couldn’t get hold of Ozempic. I knew of someone who was in a bit of a plateau on Ozempic and she switched to the tablets to see if it helped. I think it did.

mumwheresmyribena · 11/05/2023 11:51

@Sameiam Great results, you might be so pleased!
I use Green Chef and really value them, we tend towards the low carb versions (they have keto too if that's your thing). It's taught me some wonderful new recipes and made me realise how out of whack my portions were. We're about to stop them for the Summer, we're happy eating mainly protein, antipasti, salad meals most of the summer but I'll definately start them again next autumn. We also really enjoy cooking together in the evening especially as they're all around 30-40 minutes to cook.

I've not tried green chef, might give them a go. We do mindful chef, but I'm a bit bored of them now

mumwheresmyribena · 11/05/2023 12:07

@Oigetoffmylawn If you want to try it, PM me your email address and you can get a free box to try it out. I'll get £10 credit is your sign up after that but it's not necessary.

ITS A MIRACLE 🙌 I got a 1mg pen from QuickMeds. I had already ordered Rybelsus from them this morning but I just kept desperately filling out the consultation all day and it went through. I still can't believe it. It's my first time using QuickMeds so they rang for the consultation and he advised I keep the order for the Rybelsus as well as they anticipate ongoing shortages. So that's two months covered for me now. I am honestly so relieved

orangelotus · 11/05/2023 16:06

well done !! good for you did he advise the dose of the rybelus you need to take if you are already on 1mg of ozempic?

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 11/05/2023 16:08

It's the 14mg @orangelotus he said that's definitely the correct dose coming from 1mg of Ozempic. And if I do run out and have to take them I take the first Rybelsus tablet 7 days after the last Ozempic injection so on what would be have been my injection date.

orangelotus · 11/05/2023 16:09

Thankyou that's really helpful.

SarahC50 · 11/05/2023 16:39

Thankyou ladies for the advice re the 0.5mg pen and dosages out of it xc

@caringcarer that's a brilliant result very well done x

Lavendersquare · 11/05/2023 17:19

Quickness have 0.5mg pens currently in stock if anyone is looking.

Lavendersquare · 11/05/2023 17:19

That's what I do, high protein, moderate to low fat but only 1 small portion of carbs per day. I'm taking 1 portion to be either 2 hash browns, 2 slices of wholemeal bread, 3 small to medium Jersey Royal potatoes, 1 handful of pasta or rice or 3 cream crackers. For lunch I sometimes eat a small chicken breast I cook the night before with baked beans. Or sometimes just strawberries and a couple of spoons of low fat Greek yogurt.

QuickMeds have told me that the maximum tablet dose (14mg) is only equivalent to the 0.5 injection. And that there is no tablet available that is equivalent to 1.0.

Gutted as the effects of 0.5 wore off on my after the third week.

So no injections available and the tablet will do very little for me.

Such a shame.

caringcarer · 12/05/2023 12:36

I had a mini panic last week as I handed in my prescription for 1.0 pen to the chemist and when I went in to collect it was told they could not get them. I'm still on 0.5 ATM and I have enough for 2 more weeks but was really worried about the future supply. I've just had a call to say the 1.0 pens have arrived. I've got 3 months worth now so feel really relieved.

caringcarer · 12/05/2023 12:37

@greylad, that is a shame. Could you just take 2 tablets at once?

Peridot1 · 12/05/2023 12:43

@greylad - I’m not sure QuickMeds are correct. I was given the lower dose tablets when I was on 0.5 injections. And when I’ve looked last few days the 14mg tablets are showing as high dose equivalent to the 1mg pens on one site I looked at.

Peridot1 · 12/05/2023 12:52

Actually it makes no sense that the highest dose of the tablets is only equivalent to 0.5mg. I think QuickMeds are talking rubbish.

lost20000 · 12/05/2023 12:58

Not sure I can do this. My mood has dipped so badly today and I can't cope with the anxiety and nausea together when I've got so much on my plate in every sense except food. My upper gut hurts when I eat or drink. Did anyone have this?

Dogsarebetterthanhumans · 12/05/2023 13:09

@greylad QuickMeds (or whoever you spoke to there) is mistaken.

My tablets were prescribed by my consultant endocrinologist and Incan confirm that 14mg tablets is equal to 1mg. X
