Hi all, thought I would create a designated space outside of the newbie zone for those of us who are in it for the long haul and are a few doses, stone, months down the road.

Patients lie to get the prescription they want. It's not exactly ground breaking news.

Not sure it's really the fault of the pharmacy though. Surely the patient has the responsibility for providing accurate information? If you choose to lie, on your own head be it

Peridot1 · 10/05/2023 17:15

Well yes and no @AndSoFinally. No skin off my nose really if someone lies to get a drug they don’t need. But it does affect us all when there are shortages.

stixmcvix · 10/05/2023 17:47

I'm now 5 weeks in and just wanted to thank everyone here for all the information, its been so invaluable.

I titrated my dose up to 1mg early (2 weeks of 0.25mg, 2 weeks of 0.5mg, just started 1mg), as I wasn't getting very much of any effect. Have been really mindfully watching what I eat, recording every morsel on My Fitness Pal and trying to stick to 1200cal or less per day. So far, I've lost 13lbs (SW:13st0lbs) so I'm really delighted with that. Now I'm on 1mg, I really am starting to feel the persistent low hum of nausea all day long, but its not debilitating, its just enough to put me off overeating/snacking which is very welcome for a major snacker like me!

Have drunk alcohol twice - first time on 0.25mg I was absolutely fine (having had several cocktails), second time on 1mg was horrendous, which I think I needed to go through to really give me an internal limiter for future drinking. I've always been a heavy drinker, so that awful hangover will serve as a nice reminder to take it easy in future.

Just so delighted with Ozempic, I have tried every damn diet/fad out there, but this one is really the one that suits me best of all; if only it had been around 20 years ago! Anyway, good luck to everyone here, onwards to a BMI of <25!! 😄

SarahC50 · 10/05/2023 18:06

Hello ladies I wonder if you can help me please, I've just taken my third dose of 0.5mg and my pen looks very full does anyone know if I can get more doses of 0.5mg out of this pen. More for reassurance because of the shortages.

I'm currently in a ghastly plateau but not thrown the towel in I've stuck to my 1500 cals so the scales will hopefully shift.

@stixmcvix well done that's a great loss x

mumwheresmyribena · 10/05/2023 18:28

@SarahC50 I think there are only 4 x 0.5mg doses in a 0.5 pen. But if your want to be sure you can just count the clicks left - you can reverse click back to zero without injecting.

scramblescrabble · 10/05/2023 18:29

I'm two months in, my last dose of 0.5mg was 30 April. Thankfully, the appetite suppression has yet to wear off. I hope this remains the case until my new pen arrives.

Was starting to panic as nowhere has any stock. Thankfully, I got the email from QuickMeds last night. It took over an hour to put an order for a 1.0mg pen in, and the site crashed twice as payment was taken. According to my account, the money was reserved, but an email from QuickMeds earlier confirmed that no payment has been processed so could I pay now. My order has now been approved, hurrah! No dispatch date as yet.

It's all been a bit fraught tbh. Good luck to those whom are trying to secure a new pen.

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 10/05/2023 18:36

I've filled out the application on QuickMeds 37 times in the last 35 mins and every time the site crashed. Now it got to the end on the 37th try but with the out of stock message 🙄🙄 so frustrating

This is similar to my experience last night.

When you can get back onto the site, it's worth checking your account to see if your order is there - see the attached. If it is, they will email you tomorrow and ask for you to make payment.

I think there's 6 doses in a 0.5ml pen, and 8 in a 0.25ml pen - I definitely got more than 4 doses out of my 0.5 pen. I've titrated up very slowly, on 0.75mg currently and planning on holding off going up more due to shortages unless I'm really finding it wearing off. I had a consultation with Numan and they've agreed I should stay on the lowest effective dose and whilst 1mg is technically the "therapeutic dose" it does vary by person.

You're lucky! Definitely no extra doses in my 0.5 ml pen, just 4. I tried as my pen ran out on the 30 April, and there was nothing.

@tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee This didn't appear until this morning, maybe even early afternoon, last night my account just had my previous order and nothing pending.

Athena51 · 10/05/2023 18:56

My 1mg pen from Quickmeds was ordered yesterday and dispatched today. Respect to them for not hugely inflating the price (so far).

mumwheresmyribena · 10/05/2023 18:58

@Oigetoffmylawn I've just looked at the UK patient info sheet online and it says that there's 2mg of semaglutide in a 0.5 pen. I don't have an actual 0.5 pen/leaflet to check as I'm doing 0.5 from a 1.0 pen.

ETA: I'm not sure if it would still say that if it held more. Will check to see what a .25 pen says and report back

How on earth did you make it onto the website? I was online with the consultation done at 5:59, pressed the 1mg at 6pm, by the time the page loaded it was out of stock 😭

Accidently - I went onto the website to check at exactly 5pm, saw that they had stock and had checked out by 5.04. Dumb luck Smile

mumwheresmyribena · 10/05/2023 19:15

Patient info for 0.25 pen and 1mg pen. It would seem that the 0.25 and the 0.5 pens both hold 2mg of semaglutide, so 8 and 4 doses of 0.25. The 1mg pen holds 4mg, so either 8 x 0.5 doses or 4 x 0.5 doses

I’ve also received a call from Manual and they can’t fulfil my order. I’d love some advice from you all on what to do next.

I started at 12.5 stone and I’m now hovering around 9.4 stone and I’m not losing much at the moment. Totally understandable as I’m not overweight anymore (in 5 ft 4).

Do you think I should take this as my sign to come off Ozempic? I’m worried my appetite will come flooding back as I’m already a lot hungrier than I was but I also know I can’t stay on Ozempic forever.

They must have restocked. I didn’t see the alert til just before half six and my order finally went through at seven pm, with a lot of site crashing and waiting for pages to load.

At 9st 4 you can’t need to lose much weight now? I started similar to you, I was 12st 12lb now 10st 11lb and my goal is 9st 4lb. I’m planning on tapering once I get to my goal, I understand I will need to be on ozempic for the foreseeable but was hoping I could stay on 0.5mg for maintenance when I get to my goal. You could consider the tablets or try saxander?

intothewildmilkyway · 10/05/2023 22:00

@Prettybubblesintheair thank you and you're right, I don't really need to lose more and it's probably time to stop and won't need alternatives.

I guess I'm scared of stopping and going cold turkey but I have two injections left so perhaps I can use those to taper.

Well done on your loss!

caringcarer · 10/05/2023 23:34

I've weighed today and I've now lost exactly 10kg so that 1 1/2 stone. I've lost this in 7 weeks. I'm feeling really pleased with myself because I'm usually shit at diets but with Ozempic I'm not that hungry so not snacking.

greylad · 11/05/2023 07:08

Well, that’s me done.

On my fourth week at 0.5 I have put weight on, exactly as I did with my fourth week at 0.25.

I can’t find any stock anywhere at all.

So I guess this is where my journey ends and I am gradually (or not so gradually) going to put it all back on again. Sad

Peridot1 · 11/05/2023 09:25

Well done @caringcarer. That’s a great result. Do you feel better in yourself?

@intothewildmilkyway - tapering down is probably a good plan. And going forward remember you need to change what you eat as well as how much. And by changing what you eat to increase protein you should hopefully be able to maintain.

@greylad - not sure how much you had to lose? If you have only been on Ozempic for 8 weeks you are not on the full dose yet. Maybe try the tablets until Ozempic is back in stock?

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 11/05/2023 09:42

I bit the bullet and ordered Rybelsus today ☹️ I'll keep trying for Ozempic though
