Ozempic - For those of us a few months in

Hi all, thought I would create a designated space outside of the newbie zone for those of us who are in it for the long haul and are a few doses, stone, months down the road.

I'm mid way through my second 0.5 week now and feel absolutely no different to normal, no reduction in appetite and no weight loss. Will keep going to the end of the pen but am a little gutted. Anyone else take a while for it to start working?

Peridot1 · 05/05/2023 10:03

That is amazing @Athena51. Absolutely amazing. My goal is 11 stone too. Two stone to go to get there. Well 2st 2.8 pounds to be exact!

Peridot1 · 05/05/2023 10:04

@summerlovingvibes - yes lots of people. Have a read through of the threads and you will see that lots of people have had the same experience. And have a listen to the Zoe podcast on Ozempic which covers this too.

Lavendersquare · 05/05/2023 10:10

@Athena51 what an amazing achievement you must feel like a new person, able to do more and be healthier overall as well. Well done you Smile

Athena51 · 05/05/2023 11:20

Thank you everyone, your kind words are much appreciated.

LittleDitto · 05/05/2023 11:32

Omg the constipation!!! 😫

Just two days now and I’m bleeding. It’s awful and this is just my first few days into .5.

What is best to use for this?

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 05/05/2023 11:33

Just want to preface this post by saying I'm not usually one to mess around with the dosages and have followed the guidelines all the way etc but I'm v worried about stock issues, I'm due the final dose in my pen today and not sure if I should drop back to 0.5mg temporarily in case I can't get another pen by next Friday. For logistics reasons I won't go into I can only get my Ozempic from one supplier so I feel doubly stuck. Would I be better to take my 1mg as normal and potentially no dose for the next few weeks or drop back to 0.5mg and be guaranteed my next two doses?

CJL111 · 05/05/2023 11:40

I had to withdraw a post because of just that!

Peridot1 · 05/05/2023 11:56

@LittleDitto - Fybogel is quite good. Or Movicol. Or Ducolax. Or Sennacot. As you can tell I’ve tried them all! And drink lots of water which is my downfall.

@tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee I think I would drop back down to 0.5 rather than miss out doses completely. I think a lot of people will have to do that.

@CJL111 - not sure what you mean?

CJL111 · 05/05/2023 11:59

Sorry, I thought I’d replied to someone regarding people having a go for using ozempic for weight loss

mumwheresmyribena · 05/05/2023 12:41

@Athena51 I always like to read how you're getting on. You're a wonderful advert for how a steady progress on Ozempic wins the day. You should be so happy and proud. I'm just a random internet person but I'm proud of you!

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 05/05/2023 12:42

Thanks @Peridot1 I think I'll do that. It's been working so well for me I don't really want to risk a break

In your situation I would definitely drop down to 0.5mg so you are at least guaranteed your next 2 doses.

@LittleDitto Ouch! I used a mild laxative (Sennacot) I got from Amazon which worked well.

That's such a lovely thing to say, I'm quite choked up by your kindness xx

As of this morning I am 14st 8lbs with a BMI of 32 (I'm 5ft 7). When I started I was 20st 2 with a BMI of 44, so I've lost 5st 8 since January 2022 with the odd break here and there.

My next target is 14st 2 which is my 6 stone loss and will take me under 200lbs - a real milestone. Then it's to get to 13st 9 which will make me just over weight and not obese. Final goal is around 11stone and a BMI under 25.

I was a size 22 (at least, elasticated waistbands hide a multitude of sins! Now I'm a 14-16 depending on how fitted, style etc. I'm an hourglass who carries weight fairly evenly but not really round my middle so I go up and down clothes sizes quite slowly.

Life is very different to how it was at 20 stone. I eat healthily, I go to the gym 4 times a week and weight train. I don't binge anymore. I still have to work at it but I have never had to go above 1mg. In fact at the moment I am taking 0.75 a week and still losing consistently. I hope that means that I will be able to to come off it and maintain the weight loss with the new lifestyle that I have used Ozempic to adopt.

I'm post menopausal and in my mid-50s. I had real issues with emotional eating that I have worked on. I have been a yo-yo dieter since my teens. I was contemplating weight loss surgery. For me Ozempic has been a life saver, it's as simple as that. Hopefully I can still get hold of it and get to my goal!

That’s incredible! Well done, you must be over the moon 😊

Kangarude · 05/05/2023 16:17

@summerlovingvibes I took my first 0.5 on Tuesday and I am in the same position as you. Having read loads and listened to the Zoe podcast, I'm sticking with it and hoping for the best as I progress. I haven't had any side effects, which is a plus!

@Athena51 Congratulations. That is amazing progress. Well done

ciderfromeleven · 05/05/2023 20:07

Thanks @SarahC50 for the encouragement - did the full 0.5 and weirdly pretty much no side effects, wonder if I had a bug last week instead of side effects?!

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 05/05/2023 23:15

@LittleDitto it was brutal for me when I went up to 0,5.
I found DulcoEase capsules the least crampy. You can take up to 5 a day, I took 4 two days in a row before result. Now 1-2 a day.
I also take magnesium citrate every evening and psyllium husk capsules 2 x day (but forgot today, dammit).
Might also get some sugar free Werthers original as they can have the desired effect.

greylad · 06/05/2023 00:12

Where is everyone getting their 1.0 pens from now? I need to reorder next week and I’m getting anxious.

greylad · 06/05/2023 00:18

@Dummydaydream did Bury want your GP’s details?

LittleDitto · 06/05/2023 11:18

Well I’m not going to take laxatives again. Just what myself and had to come home and cancel my further plans of attending an event today. Oh well.

LittleDitto · 06/05/2023 11:19

But at least I’m no longer constipated! I won’t be trusting any more farts today.

Oigetoffmylawn · 06/05/2023 11:27

Those who ordered from Bury, how did you do the consultation? I've ordered, paid and it's acknowledged payment and says "needs consultation" but no info on how to complete this.

notapizzaeater · 06/05/2023 11:32

I get mine through Mayfair weight loss, I've one dose left at 1mg on Monday, I messaged them this week and they anticipate stock next week, think I'm going to do .5 on Monday just in case.
