“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

HermioneWeasley · 12/03/2023 09:17

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

I order with Manual on Monday and it arrived yesterday so first dose taken today.

Really hoping to get some good results as I've literally tried everything, including individual PT sessions twice a week.

Here's a code if anyone wants it, it will provide both of us with £50 off:

Well, I did my first injection in the thigh about an hour ago.

Now sitting here wondering how long it takes for the symptoms kick in!

It’s strange as I’m off work this afternoon so what I’d usually do right now is have a cup of tea and some cookies, or some chocolate etc. But I feel like I shouldn’t do that!

OzHopes · 16/03/2023 15:04

I ordered Ozempic .25mg from quickMeds yesterday afternoon and it arrived this morning. Had first injection a few hours ago (wasted some of the fluid as I’d not taken off the inner cap over the needle at first 🙄). BMI an embarrassing 42 so hoping this will help me stick to a better diet.

Did you prime the pen then? You need the cap off for that anyhow x

12-20 plus hours for the injection to get into your system in any meaningful way. But well done on the biscuits! X

Finally taking the plunge as nothing I’m doing is working for the last 3 years.

Has anyone got a quickmeds referral code they can DM me with. Thx so much.

These threads have been so useful x

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 16/03/2023 16:28

OzHopes That's quick! Did you go for the express delivery or just normal? I ordered an hour ago. Good luck with it.
Agree such useful thread, thanks everyone. x

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 16/03/2023 16:32

quickmeds: save5 is £5 off and no £49 coaching fee - thanks everyone who encouraged me to shop around.
The Superdrug Doctor alternative did look good cost wise but don't deliver as far as I can see, and I can't pick up from their nearest pharmacy anytime soon.

It was normal delivery as long as it’s ordered before 3pm, they send a WhatsApp message & you call the pharmacist number on it (or wait until they call you but I was trying to speed it up!), call quick and they send via Royal Mail. It needs to be signed for and yes arrived this morning which was great.
and to pp, I was a bit dense following the instructions with the pen cap:-)

OzHopes · 16/03/2023 16:41

I should’ve added that it’s usual Royal Mail postage of £3.95 I think it was also

imaginationhasfailedme · 16/03/2023 17:10

Hi all. I've put in a request on health express for the tablets Rybelsus because I was scared of the injection part but after reading on this thread that a lot of people struggled on the tablets and the needle is teeny, I'm not trying to cancel and reorder ozempic instead.
No reply yet - they may not even approve me as my bmi is 29 with no health conditions. Just years of weight loss misery! Will keep you posted. I'm hoping this is the thing that might work. Even if it's partly placebo (which I'm sure it's not) but mentally the idea that this medication makes you feel fuller might tell my brain that!!

HaggisBurger · 16/03/2023 17:16

Odd Q - but the sulphur burps - are they apparent to others? Partners via bad breath etc? 😬😬

Sameiam · 16/03/2023 17:29

Manual wouldn’t prescribe me ozempic, only the capsules, which is a shame. Looks like a more expensive option it is

I don’t think anyone noticed mine (unless they were being polite) but they weren’t constant and I could feel them coming so I would try to be discreet about it & turn my face away if I could feel one brewing.
Not everyone gets them anyway so you might be lucky

zoinkss · 16/03/2023 17:55

Thank you to whoever used my referral code for Manual, it was 50% discount each not £50 - so even better! Good luck to you too, here's hoping we both get some significant losses!

Here's my code if anyone else wants 50% off too (I'll also get 50%)

Have you looked at Juniper? Lots of us get Ozempic from there, I have a £50 off code if you want it, just pm me for my details.

Well I know I’m only six or so hours in but I’ve eaten as I would do normally today. Finished off my dinner and now eyeing up some pud… why do I have a feeling I’m going to be one of the ones it doesn’t work for?!

Not sure if it makes a difference but I took my first dose at 9pm so I woke up the next day amazingly still feeling full and not wanting any breakfast. Maybe you just need to give it a bit longer tho start working.

Wtafisgoingontoday · 16/03/2023 20:47

Hello everyone, I have been researching and deliberating for a few weeks and have finally bitten the bullet and ordered from Manual last night, delivery tomorrow afternoon!

My BMI is 'only' 27 but being 52 and peri I feel like I'm growing by the day. I have recently discovered that I have high cholesterol too. I lost weight via calorie counting 4 years ago and it worked really well for me and I lost over 12 kilos but following a house move to a new area 18 months ago and working from home, I have managed to pile it all back on. I am so annoyed with myself but am hoping that Ozempic will kickstart me back into action - my plan is try it for a month or two to see how I get on. Wish me luck, I have really enjoyed reading everyone's posts.

Yes they are if you don't move away when they happen! Like an egg butty my husband says!

Just a quick tip for those that intend to travel to Europe on holiday. You can get an EU prescription from an online doctor such as Mobidoctor (tell them you already take this and you want to pick some up in Europe because it's cheaper). The cost for 3 pens is 220EU which works out to be around £65 per pen (size of pen is irrelevant). The challenge would be keeping them cold but if you had a fridge and then a cool bag for the journey home you should be ok.

It's just something to think about for the future if you're planning a trip.

Dyan, that's really interesting, thank you. I wonder would that work in Ireland?

Do you just bring the prescription to any chemist in Europe? I'm going to Italy in a couple of weeks, but my Italian is non-existent.
