A thread for if you can’t keep up with threads but want somewhere to be accountable

Ive tried joining weight loss threads in the past but I always fall off, due to being too busy, getting behind and then feeling like I can’t just post all my crap without keeping up with everyone else’s lives.

So I’m going to be accountable here to myself/any others who join. If you literally just post your daily menu or whatever and then disappear without so much as a by-your-leave, I certainly won’t be the one to judge!

I have 12lbs to lose and I’m the fattest I’ve ever been. I’ve just come in from work and eaten absolutely loads, it’s no mystery as to why I’m getting fatter each day I’m just too bloody greedy.

I’m going to try intermittent fasting and calorie counting. 1400 a day in an 8 hour window. I’ll post my takings each day and I absolutely HAVE to do it this time or I’ll run out of clothes that fit.

It begins now! 💪💪💪💪

1356 yesterday for me…..

BUT 1636 today. Which I am really annoyed and gutted about, because I basically miscalculated something and ended up having 152 more than I thought I was. Wasn’t even a willpower issue!!

Never mind! Onwards and upwards!

That's very annoying, Taq, at least you had some leeway from yesterday.

I kept to 1220 today, and just ate an apple instead of a bar of chocolate...result!

Taq · 25/01/2023 21:06

Soo annoying! Well done you though! Seen any scale movement yet? I’m 1.5lbs down but probably mostly water.

I’m trying not to be too super strict though. Last time I calorie counted I wouldn’t go even one over and got a bit obsessive. Lost loads of weight but it was too restrictive and so it piled back on. So this time I’m trying to be more sensible/realistic about it.

Hello - Joining if you don't mind.

Been doing IF since 9th January and I am 7lbs down. I had a baby last year so want to shift the weight. I hate the fat apron I seem to have accrued!! I hope that shrinks down as when I wear leggings or a dress with tights, you can see it.

Stats:

SW Dress Size - 14
SW - 11st 7lbs
CW - 11st
Goal - 10st 7lbs and back into size 12 clothing comfortably.

Been doing 16:8, but more likely 18:6 by the time I have lunch at work.

This week I have been so tempted to cave but sticking to it. Feeling light headed this morning though....

RicciardoPerez · 26/01/2023 12:07

Oh and when I am in my eating window, I limit to 1200 calories.... I should really check if that is a good amount or aim to eat a bit more (that would be nice haha)

RicciardoPerez · 26/01/2023 12:18

Ok, used this formula and it says my TDEE is 1754, so take away 500 calories to lose the 1lb a week (3500 kcal to lose a lb so 500 a day), I would need to eat 1254 calories a day which is 54 more than what I'm eating now (so an extra 1.5 rice cakes a day).

Not sure if worth it haha! But If I am feeling peckish and need something after I reach my 1200 calories a day, then at least I could have a little rice cake to satisfy me.... I'm off to google chocolate bars with less than 60 calories haha!

Taq · 26/01/2023 18:04

1200 isn’t enough I don’t think, I’d be setting myself up to fail on that amount.
I have 1400-1500 and lose on that - why not try upping it for a bit and see how you get on?

I’ve had a good day - 1453!

I use this formula:

and choose ‘lose fat.’

Hello @RicciardoPerez. The tdee calculation is very complicated I found. I'm only 5ft2 and have a desk job so really, I should be aiming for 1200 to lose weight and I did that first time round. It's not a long term reality for me though, so I'm going for 1450 ish and hoping that I'll have some days under to compensate for days when I'm over. I'm also not eating back exercise calories on 1450, where I would have to on 1200 so I suppose it balances out.

So far I'm at 997 today and debating having a small bar of chocolate. I'd have to go to the shop so hopefully I'll be too lazy to actually do it 😂I'm also out for dinner and drinks tomorrow (belated work Christmas do) and a family celebration lunch on Sunday so I could definitely do with saving them!

Like you Taq, I've definitely lost water weight. Official weigh in tomorrow but I checked today and I was down to 81.3kg, so that's 1.7kg since I started which I won't complain about!

RicciardoPerez · 26/01/2023 19:47

Hmmm ok I may up my calories next week and see what happens

ThatshallotBaby · 26/01/2023 20:51

I’m wobbling a bit, but still trying. I know it’s going to take time. Splurged a bit today on toast, but haven’t eaten since about one, and am just drinking so much water. I did have a couple of mouthfuls of roasted veggies.
I actually felt a bit shit after the toast. Going to try and make sure I have healthy stuff to eat when I’m super hungry and just can’t handle it

MrsDoyle351 · 27/01/2023 05:37

Hiya all - checking in with weekly weigh in for Friday

20/01/23 - 11 stone

27/01/23 - 10 stone 13 lbs

So it's whoop-de-bloody-do-dah 1lb loss for me Sad

I have been quite 'strict' as have cut all sugar and white flour from diet. Also not eating until lunchtime and then healthy lunch and supper. Had one mini baby bel if super hungry mid afternoon....

I'm 58, have rheumatoid arthritis, and obvs post menopausal. I guess it's a case of slow but steady wins the race. On some days I haven't felt hungry, and it's been easy. On other days I've been bleddy starving and it's felt really hard.

Please encourage me - as I don't to give up just yet, and want to get to 10 stone - possibly a little less if I could!

MrsDoyle351 · 27/01/2023 05:38

*want

MrsDoyle351 · 27/01/2023 05:47

@RicciardoPerez wowzers! You're doing amazingly well having lost half a stone - I'm going to try and take a leaf out of your book as it were.

ThatshallotBaby · 27/01/2023 06:41

@MrsDoyle351
Thats brilliant! One whole pound is a fantastic result! I’m 54 and through the menopause, and my god it’s a massive effort to shift the weight.
Keep going lovely. I thought about making a lentil soup so I have something satisfying. I’ve also found some Christmas chocolate, so I need to re hid that, as I think Oo I’ll just have one. Sadly I don’t.
Keep going, you are doing so well.

ThatshallotBaby · 27/01/2023 06:44

@MrsDoyle351
Pick up a bag of sugar, or something that weighs a pound. It’s more than you think. I’d be ecstatic if I was losing a pound a week.

MrsDoyle351 · 27/01/2023 06:56

@ThatshallotBaby thanks for the encouragement! Going to STAY STRONG Grin

IAmDoingIt · 27/01/2023 07:46

Dropping in here for some accountability - I had a whole thread just to myself but it got a bit echoey in there 😄

Anyway, I am one month in and have lost 5.5lbs so far. Going to get to my first goal of 7lbs then re-evaluate/reset!

Pucarbuile · 27/01/2023 08:00

The peril of mid week weigh ins, I'm at 81.5 today! I'll blame dh, he came home from the dog walk with a creme egg and I was weak Blush still, a pound is a pound in the right direction. Tonight will be a disaster, but lots of fun so I'm OK with that. Happy weekend everyone!

Starting weight 83kg
Current weight 81.5kg
Goal weight 70kg.

RicciardoPerez · 27/01/2023 09:57

Thank you. I suspect the majority of it was bloat lol!

I might up my calories to 1400 as mentioned by a PP and see what happens next week

PartnersInCrime · 27/01/2023 20:56

Some good results, well done!

I've done well to stick to my 8hr eating window and my vitamins. Deficient in iron and Vit D and the more I read, the more other things I need to supplement with too in order to avoid other problems...so more vits arrived today and will be incorporating those too next week.

Also going to aim to replace morning pastry/brownie with Fage yogurt, berries and nuts.

Taq · 27/01/2023 22:31

Well done losers! 👍😂

@MrsDoyle351 a pound off is nothing to sad face about, it’s a pound less than last week!

I’ve had a shocker today, 1957 calories 😱
Just greed. I had a bagel and toast after my small dinner. Now paying for it with stomach ache, body complaining after I’ve been eating healthily for a week.

Self inflicted, my own fault! I had GAINED a pound on the scales this morning which is what I think threw me. I’m sure it must be an anomaly though, I feel like I’ve lost. Hopefully I’ll have a good loss next week 👍👍

Hope everyone’s had a good day!
