Lost about a stone with Slimming World however just want to speed it up a little bit.
Starting with apple and cinnamon porridge, got a latte shake for lunch and mac and cheese for dinner! And a new 2 litre water bottle :)

anyone else starting?

I have thought about trying it. But I'm unsure if I could stick to it.

BCBird · 30/12/2022 08:14

Good luck.

Hippywannabe · 30/12/2022 11:20

I did the New you Plan which is cheaper and similar and lost nearly stones in 7 months. They dowork if you stick to them and I honestly say I never felt hungry.
However, I have put a couple of stones back on so am going to do a combination of packets and healthy eating now

lemartin · 30/12/2022 18:20

Just got home and the mac and cheese is cooking up - I’m sipping on a hot drink made with the vegetable flavouring whilst I wait and it’s DELICIOUS! I love broth so this is 10/10 for me. I also really enjoy their water flavourings!

Day 1 went really well- I even went to greggs with a colleague at lunch and resisted temptation to buy a pepperoni pizza slice!

@Hippywannabe 1:1 have a plan where you can have the products and still have a meal in the evenings, maybe that’s something you could look into? Good luck!

@JJ213 you really need will power to stick to something like this, and preferably a sedentary job! My partner works in hospitality and couldn’t dream of doing it as he’s always on his feet and yet is thriving doing slimming world as he can eat more! Different plans suit different people and that’s ok! 🤗

@BCBird thank you :)

Day 2 (New years Eve) went well!

Breakfast was a vanilla shake with a shit if coffee in (tastes like a vanilla frappe!)

Lunch was a lemon bar with two cups of Vegetable flavouring.

Dinner was the spag bol style pasta, with a cup of vegetable flavouring and some fruity jelly made using the mix-a-mousse and raspberry and elderflower water flavouring.
Since had two more cups of Vegetable flavouring - really loving this!

Tonight I also tried the chicken flavoured 1:1 crisps (3 of them) and the 1:1 salted caramel bites (2 of them) - not a fan of the crisps however the bites are quite nice!

Day Three - I weighed myself this morning even though I shouldn’t and I’m five pounds down, lovely! Expecting a smaller loss with my consultant than what my at home scales say as I weighed with her two days before I started, and home scales said I was three pounds heavier (which sounds right as the two days included roast dinner and a hefty fish and chip dinner)

Breakfast - Chocolate rice crispy cereal and a pint of water

Lunch- Cappucino shake… debating either adding a shot of coffee OR adding mix-a-mousse and turning it into angel delight…

Dinner- Thai green style curry with noodles and a mug of Vegetable flavouring broth.

And as always my two litre bottle of water with Raspberry and Elderflower water flavouring and may possibly make some
more 1:1 jelly!

I think today will be the toughest day as I’m a boredom eater and I don’t have work to distract me. I’m planning on walking the dog, tidying the house, having a bath, and preparing my work uniform for tomorrow to keep me distracted. Currently just cuddling my dog and watching scrubs for now.

I did have a small revelation last night - day one I had expectations of what everything should taste and look like (mac and cheese looking and tasting like a homemade mac and cheese for example) however once I realised these are styles of the food such as ‘spaghetti bolognaise style pasta’ I gave myself freedom to actually enjoy the product for what it is, not what I expected it to be!
The crispy chocolate cereal this morning for example I immediately thought of coco pops however it’s not the same at all but still super yummy! The rice crispies have more crunch to them and the water turns into the same flavour as the chocolate shake! With a pint of water it was a yummy breakfast!

I’m putting 4/ 5 hours between each meal so breakfast was around 10.00, lunch at 14.00, and dinner at 1900 feels right for me.

I'm starting today. Your thread has given me motivation not to wait till next Monday. Good luck with it x

coffeeginandkindness · 04/01/2023 13:45

Can I ask how much it costs?

Oxterguff · 04/01/2023 19:32

I’m on day 3, managing to stick to it ok but I’m feeling very tired and a bit light headed today.

coffeeginandkindness · 04/01/2023 13:45

@coffeeginandkindness
It isn’t cheap! I bought 8 days worth of products and it cost me around £73.

lemartin · 04/01/2023 20:13

I’m so happy people have commented! I’m on day six today and it’s gotten so so much easier!

My first weigh in is tomorrow so I shall update on how much I’ve lost… fingers crossed it’s a nice number!

@cmcc22 well done! The first three days are definitely the hardest so best just to start and get them out of the way! How have you found it?

@coffeeginandkindness My first week was more expensive as I purchased the flavouring drinks to try them all so it was around £80, however from now on my consultant said I should expect to pay around £50 per week. It seems pricey but when I think about the fact I’m not purchasing my groceries, alcohol or takeaways it makes sense…

@Oxterguff I woke up with the worst headache on day three and definitely had the most cravings too! I had the pop crisps and five of the salted caramel bites on top of my three products on day three! Did you get through it ok? How are you feeling now?

@lemartin
I’m a bit better now, luckily not back in work until Monday so I had a nap and took some paracetamol. I am on step 1B so still had my peanut bar to go. That has helped a bit. Im planning a lazy day tomorrow too. I had my blood pressure taken earlier (routine check) and it was on the low side. Has anyone else noticed this? Should I be worried?

lemartin · 04/01/2023 21:00

@Oxterguff
It’s interesting what different people prefer… I struggle when I’m not at work as I don’t have a distraction!
If your blood pressure was reading a bit low then a lazy day is probably exactly what you need :)

Keep drinking your water and have a paracetamol and the headaches will be gone in a day or so… you can do this!

First weigh in yesterday - 9lbs down! Have a ‘visitor’ due and was bloated so a good loss!

I’m feeling better today so thanks for the advice. 😊

That’s amazing! Congrats! Gives you the push you need to carry on. I’m on day 4 and had a sneaky weigh, 6lb down so far!

catsandkid · 09/01/2023 15:59

Would love to know more about this as I've been looking into it. I've got about 1 stone to lose, but I feel like I've tried everything over the past year and slip back to habits. I wondered if 1:1 would spur me to take it seriously as I know I've got a consultant to answer to!

Are the products nice?
How much do you need to lose? I'm trying to figure out how much I'd likely lose and how fast on 1:1.

lemartin · 09/01/2023 16:22

@catsandkid
It’s definitely a tough one - motivation and will power definitely needed however I never succeed on long term plans (such as slimming world) and much prefer being told exactly what to eat! (My partner excels at SW and everyone is different) I really enjoy the products! There’s three or so I don’t like so far which I don’t purchase but there’s such an array it doesn’t matter too much.

At the beginning I remember the water flavouring and shakes had a powdery taste, but I’m 11 days in now and can’t taste it anymore!

I’m not too sure on my goal weight yet- once I hit a size ten I’m going to focus less on the scales and more on toning up - however you have to give a goal weight so I gave 10st which is 6 stone away.

My first week I lost 9.5lb and that was me very bloated as I was due on too! If you message a consultant they can meet with you and offer a taster pack to see if you are interested! Day 1 to 3 are the hardest! Xx

I had my weigh in tonight and I lost 7 pounds. Quite happy with that but I’m a bit gutted it wasn’t a bit more as I have a lot to lose. Do most people continue to have big losses as the weeks go on? I went into work today and one of my colleagues also lost 7 pounds in the first week of WW. I’ve done WW a few times and always lose 5-7 pounds in the first week then it slows down to 1/2 pounds a week. Obviously the Cambridge diet is much more expensive plus so I really want to be seeing better results than I would get if I was paying £25 a month for WW and still able to eat real food and have treats as well. Just struggling a bit, I’ll definitely stick it out but I need to hear that others have continued to have big losses.

Pritch49 · 09/01/2023 22:38

I've started today! So far so good! I have about 8 stone to lose! I have done a similar diet previously and I lost 7st 2lb in 16 weeks! I'm 12 years older now, so I'm not sure how quick it will come off this time! Good luck everyone! 👍🏻😁⚖️💪🏻

JJ213 · 10/01/2023 11:17

What's the cost and what's the consultant like?

Pritch49 · 10/01/2023 11:35

I have x4 products a day...3 shakes and 1 bar and it cost £71.75 for 7 day supply. 🙃

lemartin · 11/01/2023 23:54

@mioz how are you getting on?xx

OP posts:
lemartin · 11/01/2023 23:56

@Pritch49 how are you getting on?! I’m on day 13 and similarly started with over 7 stone to lose! I’m sure you will find the will power to stick to it again!

@JJ213 theres lots of consultants so I can’t speak for everyone but mines so lovely and friendly! It isn’t cheap however when you take into account you arent spending money on groceries, takeaway or alcohol… it makes sense! About £70-£80 per week if you include extras such as water flavourings :)
