Recording it here. No height/weight info, no daily intake/exercise logging, just a countdown.

Day 1: 7lb to go

I’m going to do it. It is possible.

Day 3: 6lbs to go.

A good start but probably only because the starting weight was the day after an indulgent Boxing Day.

Good luck

declutteringmymind · 29/12/2022 12:10

Well done. I've lost 3 pounds over the Christmas period! Just didn't eat much apart from Christmas food.

Day 1 today 10st 4

upinastar · 29/12/2022 12:11

You are right, you will do it and it is possible. Good luck 😊

ICanDoIt23 · 01/01/2023 10:56

Thanks all 🙂 well done for losing over Christmas @declutteringmymind, not something I would have attempted!

Anyway, day 6: 6lbs to go still.

But - no back sliding, and 1lb a week is fine with me.

Onwards!

It was a bonus. Made up for it over new years!

ICanDoIt23 · 04/01/2023 09:04

Day 9: 5.5lbs to go, slow progress but still progress!

OP posts:
ICanDoIt23 · 05/01/2023 12:10

Day 10: 4.5lbs to go

Not very linear this business! 😄

OP posts:
ICanDoIt23 · 09/01/2023 11:18

Day 14: 3.5lbs to go. Halfway point!

Anyone else want somewhere to put things in writing?

OP posts:
ICanDoIt23 · 21/01/2023 11:18

Day 26 (I think?): 2.75lbs to go

oof, taken a while to have some progress to report. Fully aware I’m talking to myself here, but it’s keeping me (semi)focused to think about having even this level of accountability…

Day 32: 1.5lbs to go

One month and 5.5lbs down! Not bad really. Off to change my name to IAmDoingIt23 and be more sociable on some other threads 😄

Rosietealight · 27/01/2023 08:02

Well done!! I’d like to join.

day 1: 7 lbs to go

SarahSecret · 27/01/2023 11:45

I would like to join too if that's ok. I'm just waiting for Argos to deliver my new scales today.

I will weigh in the morning and report back.

ICanDoIt23 · 27/01/2023 17:12

Ooh, welcome! I have mostly been talking to myself in here so exciting to have people over 😂

OP posts:
SarahSecret · 27/01/2023 17:29

Hello @ICanDoIt23, you are no longer talking to yourself 😁

I need to lose at least 3 stone, but I like your idea of 7lbs at a time.

Will weigh tomorrow morning now that my scales have arrived.

ICanDoIt23 · 27/01/2023 20:50

I have more to lose too, but it has been really good focussing on these first 7lbs. I’m much more motivated to keep going to get the ‘last’ 1.5lbs off, whereas usually at this point I’m so pleased with myself for losing anything I totally relax and of course I’m back to square one before you know it!

Mumski45 · 27/01/2023 20:59

Day 27 and the first 7lbs is gone so working on the next one now. No doubt it will take longer but fingers crossed I can stay on plan.

SarahSecret · 27/01/2023 21:08

Well done losing 7lbs @Mumski45. That's brilliant

Rosietealight · 28/01/2023 11:07

Well done! Amazing!

I’ve weighed myself this morning and am feeling much more motivated knowing it’s just 7lbs and there is this thread.

how often are you guys weighing yourself?

ChickpeaPie · 28/01/2023 11:09

Well done. I started my diet 2 weeks ago and have lost 7lb. Another 7 to go

SarahSecret · 28/01/2023 11:19

Ok I weighed myself this morning. I've stopped crying now!

Day 1
Start weight 12st 6 Jan 28
7lbs to go

Mumski45 · 28/01/2023 12:10

Well done @SarahSecret I find the first one is always the hardest. In fact I calorie count for a couple of days before I pluck up the courage to weigh myself.

I weigh daily now and only record the days it goes down from the previous lowest reading as there are vast fluctuations from day to day for lots of reasons. No change today.

Thanks @Mumski45 I'm so glad that I've finally decided to do something about my fatness. It's making me really unhappy. I can change things if I put my mind to it , so that's what I'm going to do.

I weigh myself every day, but, like @Mumski45 , I only record when it goes down 😄. It didn’t today…

Well done for the first step (onto the scales) @SarahSecret, onwards to the first 7lbs down!

ICanDoIt23 · 28/01/2023 15:12

Oh damn I keep forgetting I changed name but then people started replying to my thread so I have to change back to reply! That was me anyway.
